Hey Ox i just wanna point out that in Las Vegas, a lot of people live in sewers too, by their own will.
Thx Ox for giving me a hearth, it made my day!
Though it is worth noting they a flood sewers, more than raw sewage. So they aren't covered in poop and pee, just basically huge concrete tunnels for when it rains heavily. You want to see hard up sewer people go south to latin america. Pretty common for very over populated area's down there to push homeless/drug users into sewers where in vegas it's more by choice because it's easy unless there is a flood.
Why though? don't sewer's smell down there?
jbiehlable Read the prior comment replies. They’re flood sewers so they’re usually dry. Google it or search CZcams. There’s a whole subculture in the Vegas tunnels.

to play caravan use the cards 10's 9s and 7's... Jacks, kings. u will win 99.9% of the time
I always wanted to figure how to play caravan but confusing and a hassle for me, but then again once I learned poker in red dead redemption I played it for hours.
I wished Outside Vegas had more quests, it's a very underrated location in my opinion.

Samuel Reyna sadly thats true. NV compared to Fo3 and Fo4 is VERY empty and certainly the buggiest and glitchiest of the 3. I adore New Vegas but after about 30-50hrs of gameplay, it crashes, lags, and hard freezes BAD
Jessica Vega may just be your platform, I've got roughly 300 hrs into my game and haven't noticed any significant errors like that. Also, lore wise, NV is the richest of 3 and 4. There's a reason a large portion of the fallout fanbase recognizes it as the best 👍
Think triple blackjack for Caravan, but instead of just 21 you have a window of 21-26 the higher the better.
You can add cards either going higher or lower than the initial card you put on one of the three slots, you can't reverse the order unless you use a Queen card. The face cards can be used on your own stacks or your opponents.
Face cards have special abilities:
Jacks take away the card it's tacked on to (great for lowering your opponent's value, or getting rid of a bothersome King on your own stack)
Queen as stated above lets you reverse the order.
King doubles the value of the card it's tacked on.
Joker depends on the card it's tacked on to (Ace: Remove non-face cards of the same suite, 2-10 Remove cards of the same value from play but only the ones that was put in play before the Joker)
I like Caravan, but when I first played F:NV I had a shitty old TV and couldn't see small details so it was hard for me to tell what was the number/letter on the card so because of that I just built my deck around the same face cards to make it easier. I wish there was an app to play on your phone, maybe even be able to play against other people online or something.
And then you get players that play like Noonan or Johnson Nash. Kings and Jacks out the wazoo.
See Bethesda! That's another avenue for you to look into! Caravan TGC, have art on the cards and everything!
You can always buy some decks of cards if you have some one to play with +lance Uppercut
I got out of my way to find all the caravan cards. Most are at the Prospectors Den I believe on the corpses that were killed by the Jackal Gang that raided the den.

Ahh, north Vegas a place I did not find out a bought till 20hours in my third play through. At least it was not like how I didn't westside until I randomly found the sewer grate to it, then forgot about it until a bought 10hours after I found it.
Small mistake either by misspeaking or obsidian making an error at 7:40 .44 special isn't stronger than .44 magnum. They are essentially the same round, except magnum was created to get more power out of .44 special. Same with .357 magnum being created to get more power out of .38 special. Basically what happened was there were these cowboys who enjoyed hunting with their revolvers, but it lacked power to take out larger game like wild hogs, and even bears effectively. So they would load up the most powerful rounds they could, but sometimes they would damage their guns because it was too powerful. So they started making beefier revolvers, and made the internal cases of .357 and .44 magnum thicker than their .38 and .44 special counter parts. That's why there would be warnings not to use .357 in older police guns made only for .38 because you'd damage the gun.
Also while it happened in reverse it's pretty similar to .223/5.56 and .308/7.62NATO the ones measured in mm are NATO standards of civilian rounds of .223 and .308. The military didn't want a hotter round, just one that would be more rugged and less likely to fail if the ammo was made wrong which somtimes happens with bulk military ammo. So they again thickened the inside of the cases. Though all guns that shoot .223 can shoot 5.56 and all that shoot .308 cam shoot 7.62x51. Really the only downside to be shooting a 5.56 in a civillian gun marked .223 would be a very slight decrease in accuracy. Though we are talking like opening up an inch or two at 1000M which for 99.8% of shooters will never notice.

Glad you made this video. Ive played New Vegas possibly over 50 times with many gameplays going to completion, but I actually NEVER went into the Vegas sewers much if at all. I didn't even know much of these aspects existed and i considered myself very knowledgeable too.
Kudos for teaching this old dog a new trick or two :) Please, keep up seeking out all these nooks and crannies and digging up all the lore that goes with it.

I never knew North Vegas existed until now. The only underground portion of New Vegas I'd seen was the Thorn. As soon as I saw your video on Red Lucy's digs I just had to go meet her. After the irradiated sewers of FO3 I avoid tunnels whenever possible. Thanks for showing that this tunnel system isn't quite as terrifying. I still prefer caves of night stalkers or even deathclaws but not by much.

It amazes me that I played the heck out of New Vegas And this is the first time I'm seeing any of this. Just goes to show how deep and complex Bethesda worlds can be.
Caravan is pretty easy, basically you try to get your stacks (caravans) to amount up to or as close as you can to 26 each, while keeping the other guy’s stacks (caravans) either way below 26, or cause them to bust, almost like a game of blackjack.

Semi wadcutters are actually designed to cut cleaner holes in paper, helping to accurately score targets while competitively shooting. A full wadcutter actually sits flush with the mouth of the case and have a completely flat nose. Weather the SWC is actually superior to standard FMJ loads in reality isn't clear cut

Oxhorn, i played caravan by stocking up on "7" "9" and "10" playing cards. A minimum size deck and get the start rigged up with 3x7 3x9 and a few 10's so you play 9 cards to get the ideal 26 points per stack on the board. Keep a few kings, jacks etc in case you need them and save before playing.

Two things about Fallout New Vegas that seem extremely complicated and best to ignore, but in fact turn out to be very simple and very useful... Caravan and the sewers. Caravan makes you a lot of easy money, and is a very entertaining game with simple rules. And in the sewers you just run in the general direction you want to go and very quickly end up at your destination, cutting straight across the areas with barriers making you go a really long way around on the surface.
Caravan Crash Course:
Goal of the game is to get your stacks to 20-26 points each via ascending or descending order
Number cards count for the number of the card
The Jack removes a single card for the stack it is placed on
The Queen reverses the ascending/descending order of the stack
The King Doubles the value of the numeric card it is placed on
Jokers... avoid using jokers...
If you go over 26, that stack is "busted" and worthless. You can play face cards on the opponents stacks or your own.... hope this helps.

I love your stuff Oxhorn and i wanted to know if there was any background lore in fallout 4 where raiders talk about a man who throws imaginary gernades and shoots imaginary guns while making noises with his mouth before getting on an imaginary motorcycle. You first hear it from 2 raiders who talk about it near the city with a dead trader. Then from 2 other raiders outside of the "helpless settler" right outside diamond city
Took me forever to find out that the goal of caravan is to get as close to 21 as many times as possible while trying to interfere with your opponents caravans. That's how I figured it out anyhow.
Hi Oxhorn, have you considered doing lore videos on each faction but a full overview. For example a long lore video, on the Brotherhood of Steel, how they started in the beginning and their whole time line through each game? So lore videos on each faction from any game that gives the complete lore for that faction? Thanks

Caravan is rly easy to play. king doubles the amount of the card, queens enables placement of any other card, jokers i dont know but the Jacks removes cards you lay them on. Dont go over 26 on each line and stop the enemy from reaching it. Jack and kings are great for your lines and against enemy lines.

caravan make 26 .. I use kings, 10's and 6's ( kind of stack my deck ) I play the king on the 10 to double it . I think the jacks remove cards so I use those on the other guys hand :)
caravan I haven't played in along time , but I always stacked my deck with Kings (add double amount) played those on my 10's, Jacks (they remove cards) , 10's and 6's have to make 26 :) couldn't figure out the jokers though so I buy buy buy cards only if they're k's, j's , 10's and 6's thats all I used.
I have hundreds of hours in this game, and i found this place for the first time yesterday.

Fallout is my favorite videogame franchise by far. New Vegas is my favorite installment, too. But I also like 1-4 vanilla/add-ons etc. I hope hope HOPE AND PRAY Bethesda works on a New Vegas 2 or spiritual successor next, can you imagine the New Vegas team having enough time (not just one year) to build an RPG with fallout 4 graphics/play? That's my "dream" game for sure.
best way i can explain caravan is if you have 26 on a space you've won the area. 27 is too high 21 is too low. joker resets the deck i think and the royal cards act like multipliers i believe but don't quote me on that.

Thats a weird conversation tree... when i read that line about his gun shining in my head it read out as sarcasm or talking shit as if to imply hes lying because if that were true his gun would most definitely not be spotless even if he cleans it I was surprised when it was actually literally complimenting him.

Is there a reason to the Securitron in lore as they feel like a Protectron mixed with a Sentrybot And they a have screen on them so could they be walking camera feed? I haven't played enough of fallout Nv to know
