In a world with so many terrible influencers and role models, I believe Charles is someone anybody can truly look up to and be inspired by. Came from nothing, worked his way up the ranks, and goes not only toe to toe but FINISHES some of the best fighters in the world. This man truly never gives up and it shows in his performances.
He's also persistent. He went through several setbacks and losses. He didn't make excuses, he didn't settle for less, he didnt fold; he kept going, he kept getting better. These days, people want success NOW, and people failure as total and too ego-damaging. Losing, patience, and inherent motivation are keys to long-term success.
Plus he is so respectful to his opponents, always shaking hands with all of them right before the fight. And humble, the way he was applauding Islam when he beat him and was being declared champion. A true true sportsman, champion and icon to the sport of martial arts.
This man is my mentor. Is a living legend. Champ has a name. 💪🇧🇷🇬🇷

Charles is the #1 risk taker in the ufc, his ground game is so formidable that he can pressure and kick as much as he wants without fear of getting put on his back, and his incredible ability to finish a fight in a moment makes him more comfortable to take risks on the feet with the knowledge that losing a big exchange or something isn’t going to tremendously take away from his ability to win if he was more reliant on winning decisions

I stopped questioning his toughness and resilience when he defeated Tony Ferguson. That fight completely changed my view of him. What cemented my confidence in Charles was when he cinched in the rear naked choke sub on Dustin Poirier. That finish and performance solidified my confidence in him. It doesn't matter who they put in front of him inside the octagon. He has elevated his fight repertoire to the elite level that only a few have reached and maintained. Whether it is Islam Makachev, Conor McGregor or anyone in the Lightweight division, he is now the best in the world and will continue to be at that level for the current and near future of the UFC and all of MMA.
When he beat Ferguson the way he did , I said this man will be champion
he beat a washed up tony, and when he fought poirer he got dropped and rocked about a hundred times. After hitting the deck so many times in that fight he was literally grappling poirer because any more strikes to the head woulda killed him

Gaethje got fooled into thinking that Charles can't keep up with his pace because he has had success with it against a lot of fighters. But I think throughout the finishing sequence he has realized that he was succumbing to Charles' pressure.
Justin said he was buzzed within the first 8 seconds of the fight, like he's never been buzzed before. He was shook the entire time.

The entertaining and awesome thing about Charles is that he is a nightmare on the ground but has no problem standing toe to toe with high level strikers throwing bombs. From the fan point of view that's a dream!
A man that gets into wars, and comes out on top tells a better story than a man who gets into fights and wins clean every single time. At least with the guy who gets into wars, you can tell that there's no mistake that his competition is definitely high level, and he figures them out.
