    • @paulfriedman224

      @@aedancael1717 the bunk heater is a small box inside/under your bunk that uses a small amount of your diesel fuel to ignite your enclosed heater element. The blower is a low voltage fan blower that runs of your battery. Your thermostat is the knob on the wall.
      When you hear it clicking that is the ignite electrical spark that lights the small furnace. It’s all very safe but you should not run the bunk heater and the truck at the same time. As a matter of fact, the AC control will override the bunk heater when the truck is on so they don’t work at the same time. It’s designed so that you don’t have to run your truck to stay warm.
      The bunk heater will cook you out if you let it.

    Hey brother maybe you could help me out. I’mVERY me to the trucking industry and don’t know a whole lot about trucks and internal cab switches and all. But I’m about 2 months in now going over the road and definitely try to utilize all the power outlets I can find in the cab. I have a Volvo just like this one (not mine, not even the companies, but the company rents from Penske) and I’m trying to figure out why the actual power outlets that are in the truck (as seen under the bunk and also a couple up near where the fridge goes) why they don’t hold power. Not sure if it’s something as simple as a switch I’m missing. Or possibly a fuse that needs replacing... if you can help me greatly appreciated! Thanks brother and stay safe out there!!

    • @trentallman984
      @trentallman984 Před 3 lety

      You have to have an inverter to power those outlets. The truck is wired and the is a plug in under the bunk that goes right into the inverter. I used a 2000 watt Power Drive unit and it powers the microwave, tv, and a fan. I tried a 1500 but it couldn't take the microwave for more than 2 minutes. If you don't see anything next to the heater then you don't have one.

  • @avirana8511
    @avirana8511 Před 3 lety

    Whats that panel on the side that says 'freedom' on it. Is that the inverter switch. And if i have that on my truck can i put a microwave and use it rightaway or i need another inverter to run microwave.

    • @dpfriedmanii
      @dpfriedmanii  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes, it turns the power plugs in your truck on. You can use a microwave like normal. You may need to idle truck if microwave too powerful bc it pulls a lot of watts.
