  • 104-Year-Old National Benefactress Knarik Clara Margossian Enters Eternal Rest
We are deeply saddened to inform the passing of benefactress Knarik Clara Margossian, who entered her eternal rest on February 7, 2023. She was 104 years old. Ms. Margossian's funeral service was held on February 23rd at St. Paul Armenian Church of Fresno. It was officiated by the Rev. Fr. Yessai Bedros, Pastor of St. Paul Armenian Church with the participation of Rev. Fr. Gomidas Zohrabian, Pastor of St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church of Fowler. She was interred at the Masis Ararat Cemetery in Fresno.
Reflecting on the humility of Ms. Margossian, the Diocesan Primate wrote in part "Undoubtedly, Clara's love for the Armenian nation and the Church was immeasurable. She dedicated her life to putting her faith into action with her indomitable Christian spirit. With fondness, we remember our visits with Ms. Margossian, for her humility left a lasting impact on us. Her legacy will continue to inspire us, for blessed is the memory of the righteous."
In October 2020, during the 44-day Artsakh War, Ms. Margossian donated an astonishingly generous amount of $1,000,000 to Armenia Fund.
Through Armenia Fund, her generosity led to the construction of residential buildings in Gyumri.
