I can't say enough good things about this man and his music. He's definitely an icon in pop culture as far as I'm concerned. I just wish I was old enough to have seen him perform live.
Mr. Domino, thank you for every song you recorded for the publics enjoyment! Here we are 60 years later, your music still is stirring hearts and minds of people!! Love you MR. Domino!
I wasn't even born untill 1985, but to me & many others of my generation this man is still a source of musical inspiration :) If only the world had a modern contempory of this calibre... such stage presence with hardly any movement! Oh, and what a voice ;)
Fats, Happy Birthday and many more. I have vivid memories of being in New Orleans when your song Walking To New Orleans was released and played for the first time in New Orleans. I drove in circles around Lee Circle for the entire time the song was playing. GREAT MEMORIES
Happy birthday Fats. I grew up in the 50's and enjoyed your music even before I knew there was an Elvis. Your the man ! ! The world is a better place because of your music.
FATS DOMINO, What a GREAT Artist you were! The news of your passing made me very sad, I love your music dearly! I grow up listening to "ALL" your songs, today, at 72, I cherish all the melodies you brought into this world and thanks a lot to CZcams, I listened to his songs over and over. Praying for you, may you Rest in Peace and THANK YOU for The MUSIC !
Fats Domino played a show here in Salt Lake City that was sponsored by Broadway Music, a local music store. Part of the deal was the headliner would be at the store to sign autographs for a couple of hours the day of the show. Fats Domino drew the biggest crowd to the store they ever had. I was the guy that cleaned the place up and vacuumed the shag carpet. I got a perfunctory handshake greeting and that was it. Too many paying customers wanting an autograph and a moment of his time. Today it's Rest in Peace, You have been remembered and spoken well of all the days of your life.
GEORGE FROM GREECE / 18TH OF OCTOBER 1012 This is one of the rock' roll songs I like best. In my age (59 years old), I still like Fats Domino and many others rock'n rool singers, like Elvis Prisley, Chuck Berry, Evely Brothers, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Rivers, Little Richard, Paul Anka, Platters.
Ill get my thrill on Blueberry hill! There was a question on a swedish television-show about him, I nailed it straight away! None of my friends had ever heard his name... I guess people in their 20's doesnt listen to him? Such a shame, he's great!
I consider the opening few bars of this song as one of the most identifiable in R & R history. There are several other artists as good as "The Fat Man", but none any better. He still rocks as much today as 60 years ago. We love 'ya Fats.
No one and I mean no one could ever take his place. i'm from South Louisiana and proud to say it. Down here we have our own food, music and most of us speak french.
hi am so blessed i saw him live in rotterdam ahoy in the netherlands. one of the best concerts i ever saw and believe me i saw many. u2,david bowie ,prince madonna, the stones, bruce springsteen, ub40 ,pink floyd ect ect FATS whas the bestttttttttt
I saw Fats at the New Victoria Theatre, London, England, in 1975, when he was still young enough to push the piano off stage with his thigh. An all-time great.John
Another outstanding musician and great entertainer leaves us, for the orchestra in Heaven. Thanks for your wonderful music Fats, and for the fun times you gave us. Your music will live on. R.I.P.
I did't know Fats till few days ago and I have to say that he was really good. I like his voice, and his lyricks. Great Blueberry hill, briliant Ain't that ashame... Just love ti!
This guy could make the devil tap his feet. I can not think of one singer that personifies joy like Mr. Domino.I thank you from the bottom of my heart..God Bless
i just picked up an LP player and bought an LP record called: ''20 greatest hits'' by fats domino it is from 1985 and recorded by a company called: "Astan''. i love Mr Domino's songs. i am only 15 years old and from the Netherlands, but what does it matter? just enjoy the music :D
This artist and this song brings back many memories. Memories of having to go to bed at night, and smuggling my radio to bed under the covers so no one could see the light from the radio. I would listen to a program called Night Beat Down Rythym Street on Katz Radio.Anyone from St. Louis,Missouri will know about this program in the late 50's early 60's.
What a Rockn'Roll legend! Of all the names that embrace that golden age of pop, his stands alone for me. I last heard that he had suffered bad misfortune when Hurricane Katrina made her unwanted call on New Orleans but that everyone rallied round to help. I have a "tribute" CD that came out of that...great! But you can't beat the originals - the man and his memorable music. I grew into my teenage years listening to so much good stuff but he is number one for me. This video is tops!
Rocker Buddy Knox's first tour was with Fats Domino. Buddy and I both stated school in Happy, Texas and became college chums (I sang in his loose-knit, campus group, "The Serenaders"). Buddy opened at New York's Paramount Thereat with Domino. His most frequent remark about Fats was, "Man, he could really sing." I got no impression that they 'hung out' or became close friends, but I know that Buddy admired him a lot.
it is thanks to slow-grinding soulful music like this that southern sludge metal and rock partially came to exist...you can hear so much of the style of fats present in the rhythm and pace/cadence of bands like Down and Crowbar. so awesome.
This is among the very best from Rock&Roll's golden era. Fats is about 80 years old now. People often don't appreciate these national treasures until they are gone.
Fats Domino was unique. His influence on popular music culture was phenomenal. I used to listen to dance band singers until Fats came along. He changed everything.
FATS is one of the treadmills of SOUL/ROCKnROLL. I love ya baby! smooooooch! Oh how you still have those memories in you...I see it in your face. How sweet is that?
On this day in 1957 {February 2nd} Fats Domino performed "Blueberry Hill" on the NBC-TV program 'The Perry Como Show'... R.I.P. Mr. Como {1912 - 2001} and the great Mr. Domino turns 85 years old this coming February 26th...
I can remember being in 10th grade music class. We had a lady teacher that allowed us to bring in 2 records that she would play every class. Asked us to chose records with good songs on both sides, since she could only buy 2 records. We chose Elvis "Ain't nothin but a Hound Dog", and back side "Don't be Cruel". The other was Fats Domino "Blueberry Hill", and I think back side "I'm Walkin". I liked the Fats Domino record best.
I remember when all my friend we into Elvil Fats was where I got indroduced to the Blues and his is absolutely unique I think most people would agree.. I remember having his 45 of the song!
You´re so right...Fats a real, real legend ! I come from Germany...you know our bad failures and sins in worldwar II with the jews...i adore all the people who fight against racism and go their own strong way for many many years without any fear...Fats is a cool fearless adorable guy...and his music: a legend...
First heard Fats in 1956 when I was 16 years old in Louisiana. We tried to get him to do our junior-senior prom but we did not have $500 to pay his expenses.
I can't say enough good things about this man and his music. He's definitely an icon in pop culture as far as I'm concerned. I just wish I was old enough to have seen him perform live.

I'm not sure what's there not to like if you can hear and move. Definitely one of the best Blues and Rock and Roll artists. Thanks for sharing.
They'd still draw a crowd. The music is timeless.
Doesn't he have the sweetest smile?
RIP, Fats. And thank you!

Fats is still with us. Still playing in New Orleans. And in the house he grew up in.
This guy could make the devil tap his feet. I can not think of one singer that personifies joy like Mr. Domino.I thank you from the bottom of my heart..God Bless

R.I.P. Fats Domino. I grew up with your music! Thank you so much!
Great, Great, we actually had a Blueberry Hill in my home town, overlooking city, good parking!

I lived in New Orleans for 34 years until after Katrina. This song captures what it and its people used to be. It means so much to me.

Father of Rock N Roll. Even Elvis liked this song and was part of his very first personal collection.

Happy Birthday, Fats, glad to know you are still around!
