Dancehall icon Daddy Freddy, entered into the 1990s as one of the hottest toasters. But by the middle of the decade he had all but disappeared from the spotlight
Would have been nice to have mentioned Tenor Fly R.I.P who he partnered with on the tune Dancehall Clash, and in Coxsone Outernational dancesz they were a killer combination
Heavy D was also Jamaican. You can hear Daddy Freddy on Beats International’s song Echo Chamber and he’s thanked for his involvement as a musician in the credits. Excursion on The Version is full of samples and is actually quite an amazing album.
RAS, you always do proper credit to everyone. I was just watching his later stuff and it honestly pissed me off, especially as a nice mulatto young woman walking by was turned off by him. I'll check his earlier stuff because he's talented but dang dog, he made me miss out of a beautiful gal lol. Bless all the society✌️
No mention of Tenor Fly, Blessed Earth Strong, or Prento Youth who he worked a lot with on sound system and record? His hiatus in Jamaica was actually in Nottingham, England. From the Simon Harris album forward Freddy has given me all the rest of albums he did, and he's recorded for me a few times. No matter what, it's undeniable that he is legendary and the father of Ragga Hip Hop
Love these videos, though you could elevate the value of the amazing research you spend doing by incorporating snippets of some of the songs and interviews you talk about. Was the fastest rap recorded? Would’ve been good to show it here.
@@Chevy-jordan Blessings✌️ Thanks for the suggestions. Adding clips of the songs is a tough one due to copyright concerns but interviews are a very good idea. Big up 🙌
@ReggaeAppreciationSociety 😇🤙. Great video as always and my new recipe of orange chicken, cheddar, and egg on a bagel sandwich will be a hit. I'll name it The Daddy. Keep your inspirational riddim jam mon❤️💛💚🦁
He is still about i saw him in brixton the other day

Saw him late on Saturday evening in Brixton, he popped into the Brixtonia Lounge and had a go on the mic, the crowd of people loved it!
Guidance, Love & Respect, RAS K. Give Thanks for the consistent, quality offerings and valuable classes, Teacher. 🙌🏿💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿❤💛💚🖤
