Great response Muk! I think many GW2 players watched The Lazy Peon's video and was frustrated about the lack of information. I know in MightyTeapot also remarked on this in his latest stream, but thank you for taking the time to clarify things.
When I saw muks post I figured I'd watch peon's vid first, made it about halfway through and went f it this is dumb. Haven't seen any in years but I could swear I used to like his videos

Think the best thing to take away from his vid is how bad gw2 is at informing and teaching new players all the actually important systems and such. Too much information is either hidden or not out in the open.
Hell learning about the wiki timers entirely transformed the experience for one of my friends who started playing recently. Same with how important achievements are, since he came from WoW where they are just fluff titles and maybe cosmetics if lucky. That is something I'd see more focus on, a good new-player introduction to systems and so on.
The guy didn't even read about anything in game. The fact he went and bought relics instead of opening one of the free chests proves that. It's no surprise he doesn't like it when he doesn't understand anything.
He never does. He's like that since day 1 of his channel.
To be honest, the game does not make it super obvious, what the major changes are and if you have inventory full of random shit the game showers you with, you can miss it. It is like they expect that the game is played only by seasoned players. I know that It is frustrating for anyone who plays the game regularly, but this is the experience of new or returning players.
He doesn't care about games anymore. It's pretty obvious if you watch any of his vlog style videos. There's one where he says he found new friends and they were sitting around the table smoking cigars and talking about the stock market lmao. He's just in it for the money now and he's terrible at hiding his disdain for everyone who's like way he used to be.
@@Syldorielso why did he complete V rising? Is it that hard to accept that yeah guild wars 2 has its weaknesses and is not for everyone? I bought 3 expansions, tried getting into it 3 seperate times. Couldnt do it. One of the factor was the dwindeling population, the other was the focus on an honestly boring story. Idk about you but for me doing content and getting rewarded crap time after time isnt appealing. Why do raids? Why do fractals? Meaningless. Thats why rheyo quit and is activley playing runescape rn
@@HarmonyOfTheVoice It is obviously completly fine that you and lazy peon do not like guild wars 2, like you said its not for everyone, however it is not true that the guild wars population is dwindeling. Yes some people quit as they always do and some people start plaing it. The guild wars 2 population, while obviously tiny compared to wow or FF14 is quite stable. In my opionion the story got a lot better with Secrets of the obscure, but i agree that earlier story lines were quite boring at times. As for why you (as in anyone) should play content like raids etc. Easy do it if you enjoy it. If you dont that is totally valid and fine, then that content or maby guild wars 2 in gernerell isnt the game for you. I play that content because i really enjoy the guild wars 2 combat system and because of that i enjoy most of the content i play.

Lazy is the key part of his name. I feel like he half asses games and posts reviews. His bit about armor not being changeable when it is if you put in the time (Which as a part timer myself I'm painfully aware of this), but I hate that he knocks the game for an obvious thing if he bothered to do a google search. His bag comment, I want to see his bag's in world of warcraft.
so true. I stopped watching his content soon after he started branching out of wow as he goes into everything in a wow mindset as he is a wow main gamer. And because he just looks at the other games with face value, it becomes super annoying and ignorant.
A few years ago he had a bit of drama when he publicly announced that he was going "red pill" and was a fan of Jordan Peterson. I haven't had any respect for him since.

He does. About 5 years ago he angered the FFXIV community for making a similar "review." Then he deleted the video and called the players toxic because people told him he was full of crap. He should probably stick to Ashes of Creation videos since that's obviously the one game he is the most passionate about.
Lazy Peon has been a hack for a long time
Another couple weird things he seemed to not know about but also somewhat showed on screen, was that he complained about having to fork over a ton of gold to get new decent gear, after he showed on screen that you can get ascended gear super easy through the wizard's vault just doing dailies and weeklies. Then in addition to legendary gear on his inventory complaint with having alternate gear sets, is that he can also just load up gear templates to instantly swap, and it keeps those extra sets of gear out of his bags.
To be fair, I have a similar complaint.
This game is all about buildcraft, but getting the new stat combos CAN be pricey.
The Wizards Tower gives you a few pieces but in-game there's no easy way to get the stats you want unless you grind Verdant Brink a lot.
I always thought there should be karma RARE stat selectable gear that has every stat combo for a couple thousand karma a piece. You're gimped but it lets people buildcraft before buying exotic or getting/altering ascended.
This game has no easy way to buildcraft for little cost other than maybe PvP. It really should.
@@hardy83 Tanetris' "So You Want To Gear a Character" guide has loads of options for stat-selectable exotic armor. And even if you ignore that, there's an argument to be made that you can always pick up a full set of Berserker exotic gear from the TP for less than 10g and be ready to do end-game content as power dps role. Yes, it will not allow you to play as a healer or boon dps (except qherald right now maybe), but it is absolutely viable for an insanely cheap price, and you can slowly grind towards your preferred role.
@@hardy83 End of dragons locking Ritualist and Dragon stats out of stat selectable for a while was annoying, yes, but SOTO hasn't even introduced a stat combination so there's no reason to fork up tons of gold for that right now. Runes are also mostly cheap and everyone got some free relics either from the update or just from soto story itself. Also, for stat selectables you got OPTIONS: 1: verdant brink. 2. crafting lunatic gear (halloween based) or directly the stat you want.3. PvP season boxes for warlord set exotics and some reward tracks reward selectable gear as well (crystal desert armor box, for example) 4. you can get gear in WvW, though there are better things to spend those currencies on given how much more time gated wvw pips are than spvp season pips. 5. some weapons and specific items are buyable with stat selectable, like iron legion weapon set. It only gets a bit more time consuming to get ascended, because exotics are easy. exception of course for ascended trinkets (amulets, rings, backpieces...) those can be harder or very easy to get depending what you do. You like living world? great, easiest ascended backpieces ever. You spend Astral acclaim on laurels? good, now you can buy those laurel trinkets if you want. etc. The hardest equipment to get, imo, is very specific stat combination trinkets that are harder to get as stat selectable and otherwise only available through vendors in expansion/LW. example: plaguedoctors. Of course the easy way out for that issue is to use bloodstone items, mist items and jade mist items, respectively a pve, pvp and wvw way to get stat selectable ascended trinkets that, as a bonus, can be reset to change the stats if you want!
@@hardy83 it cost more at start, but longer you play the cheaper it get, and there is free legendary amulet on achievement and new legendary starter kit on wizard vault to really help start on "endgame" gear. if this game does not have vertical gear progression like on other mmos, atleast there is "easy" ways to aqquire endgame gear what have been there since start. who would play if there is no any gear for grind(legendary/ascend) just for skins?
You can get 3 pieces of armor and 1 weapon from the wizard's vault and that's it.
Impressed by the fact that all the things The Lazy Peon thinks would "improve" the game would basically ruin it for everyone that currently likes it. Think he'd be happier playing the latest version of _Call of Duty..._

Another thing I want to add RE: bag wars 2, every time he shows an inventory and complains about it, I can immediately see white gear that he is never going to need, unopened lootboxes and, as you mentioned, junk items. There are also a lot of un-deposited materials, which I would guess comes from a small mat storage. Which is fine, but you can craft and/or sell that.
honest to god even seeing that he has a copper salavage-matic and complaining about bag space pissed me off
You know, even if not everyone is enjoying everything about gw2 at the moment, I’m super glad people seem to be checking it out quite a bit right now. I’ve seen a lot of “gw2 in 2023” videos lately, and the game deserves the attention IMO. It’s not for everyone for sure, but I think a lot of the people it is for aren’t aware it’s for them at the moment, so the exposure is nice.
Well said. There is no game that is perfect for "everyone" but its always nice to see someone else trying out a game that you love. Even better if they happen to enjoy it too.
And gw2 is special way that you could possibly enjoy only 1 type of content pvp/www/pve or someone who like all of those, Everyone find something in this game
To clarify Mukluk's clarification of world exploration rewards, he said at 9:40 , "There are people who will make new characters, do map exploration, and then they will sell those gifts (of exploration from completing all core Tyria maps) for just tons and tons of in-game money."
It should be noted: Those gifts of exploration are account bound and cannot be sold to another player directly. What's more, they require other account bound materials in order to be upgraded to a Gift of Mastery (which is also still account bound). In order to sell it for in-game gold, the player has to essentially provide a service instead of handing the gift over to another player directly. The person who wants to hire someone for this service comes up with a pre-cursor item, all the ingredients for a Gift of Fortune, and all the ingredients for the legendary specific gift required to make the actual Legendary item, and then just mails all that wealth over to the player with the Gift of Mastery. Then the player with the Gift of Mastery fully assembles the pieces into a Legendary item and sends the Legendary back through the mail to the person who is purchasing the service. Then he gets paid for providing his Gift of Mastery. This requires a lot of trust from both parties and most people won't be able to get into this sort of thing to make money themselves without someone else vouching for them, who already does this. It's a very exclusive group of players.
Wouldn't you be able to just make a legendary and sell it, though? It would require some starter capital, obviously, and it's not directly selling the gift of exploration, there's a lot of additional work involved. But not really any trust required?
... or sell the completed legendary on the TP.
Maybe there's a happy middle ground where an NPC will unlock everything characters in that account have unlocked in the game, but it disables that specific character from getting gift of exploration.
But the gem store waypoint unlock will not disable gift of exploration rewards.

something you have to consider about SotO being a "mini" expantion. the first instalment was 10 chapters and there will be 3 more content updates coming through out the next year. that being said EoD was 18 chapters. if the 3 updates just have 3 chapters each it will be longer than EoD.
Are the chapters about the same length?
@@sebastianm7556 give or take. it can't be compared 1 for 1 though. some chapters may be a series of instances and others are open world objectives. for me it took about an hour just to get into the new map. now i explored all the instances, listened to all the conversations, ect. so what each player gets out of it depends on how they play.
exactly, everyone on reddit complaining this expansion is too small forget thats just part one of four, like, thats at minimum only 1/4 of the total expansion, just that unlike EOD it will be more spread out. Many features we have yet to learn or experience. we know new weapons are coming, but they also said new masteries, and who knows what those might be.
@@kevlap017 I think the reason they are calling this a "mini" expantion is because it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a "normal" expantion. we ARE getting a full story but not the vast features like we got in the other 3

Otherwise, more new content, that uses familiar systems:
- one new map
- 2 strike cm's plus one new fractal (incl. cm)
- new weapon proficiency for each class
- one additional armor set
- new legendary armour
- more relics (incl. legendary)
- legendary rift enemies
Nothing exciting like elite specs, raids, or game-changing features like gliding, mounts or jadebot.
I usually like watching videos on first impressions of gw2 because you get to see a fresh mind diving into this game and experiencing it for the first time, it’s refreshing and they genuinely want to know more about it.
However in his case I freaking hated it, not only that he seemed to have played the game long enough to get his characters looking like that and have 96 mastery points, it’s the fact that he has played the game long enough and know completely NOTHING about it and doesn’t even seem interested to even figure it out even if it was right in front of him. He legit gave me a headache lol.
He shouldn’t be doing first impression videos if he doesn’t even make an effort to research more about the game, like for god’s sake we have a wiki!
and using metabattle for a story/pve content is already a red flag (since he obviously didn't read it properly), I've seen streams of super new players properly reading skills and not even doing any combo but they still manage to do those boss battles he kept on dying.

@@ghostie._ tbf, he's playing berserker ele,not the friendliest way to do pve without thinking lmao. but yeah, he should do his research. and maybe get a set more suited to solo pve, may it be celestial, dragon or whatever else that's not just pure offense on ele. Vipers and berserk works great on my reaper, but reaper is tanky, catalysts can be tanky too, but not the way he played it.
Honestly, after seeing TLP pop up for years, he just seems like a super not bright dude. Any game he's playing seems to confuse him and he's always missing things that are staring him in the face.
He literally plays it because he likes the PvP... he's too impatient for everything else, honestly. Watch his other videos and you'll notice this trend. IF you also take a look at his equipment, he has NO ascended gear, NONE. Which would help in combat.
It's amazing to me how he had the gall to make this video without even trying to understand the game.
He did the same with BDO. He very much doesnt want to do the whole character building and roleplay part. Only jump straight into the action.

@@kevlap017 One could almost come to the conclusion that is a trap for players who don't play much. And a way to 'encourage' people to buy an expansion, since the named ones aren't purchasable, while the generics are.
@@CorwynGC you can get stat selectable gear in PvP and WvW. Those are open to all players. The only things that are expansion locked stat wise are account bound crafting materials and vendors from expansions. But you can hear without ever going to an expansion. Harder to do in full PvE only without expansions especially for some stats, but it's doable.

Just sounds like LazyPeon things. He did same for FF14 like 5ish years ago. CZcams had the dislike button back then and his video got around 75% downvotes. He ended up removing it and complaining about how toxic FF14 community was.

In my point of view as veteran,I like the new reward system,it gives opportunity for the new players to close the gaps a-little bit quicker than before.
Story arc is awesome and enthusiastic for new weapon options on different classes especially warrior with staff and Sword with Necro🤔
As a 10 year player, I love the Wizard's Vault. The old daily system had so much crap in it, now I'm getting skins, clovers, build template slots, gear template slots, etc. Soooo much better than some T3 crafting bags, luck that I've been capped on for years, transmute charges, etc.
The wizard's vault is like the best thing of the expansion... LOL
Also, i am praying for staff warrior to be a good Support-defensive-boink weapon.
My only issue with the wizards vault is that I wish it would show all objectives from pve, pvp, and wvw and let me do whatever, and just max out rewards from whatever 4 dailies I wind up doing, so it would be similar to the old system. But the rewards are good and the tasks are pretty easy so it's not really a burden.
Here's hoping the new weapon choices with the next update are good, pistol on guardian sounds interesting and it needs a good condi ranged weapon

The initial five slots you got back in 2012, I filled with a character from each race. I quickly grew a preference towards Asura, though. Still, I never deleted any of those five.
The Hot Take regarding the Inventory...
I mean, that isn't an issue of the game, that's just an issue of how you organize your inventory, really
I have 11 characters and all of them have a clean inventory, no matter what content I do with them, because I just keep it clean...which takes about 20-30sec (at max) every time I do this.
SO MUCH THIS!!!! My Inv is oganized by item type and I always have at LEAST 50% of it clean and ready for loot. It's just a question of being organised.
Inventory organization is not for everyone. I kind of get a dopamine spike clean my stuff. So does my house look like. But there are ppl with their socks all over the place. So yeah...

As much as I like to have a clean Inv., my house looks like it's turned upside down constantly.
I get that not everyone wants to take the time to clean their inventory, most of Gw2-Players prob. have a mess in their inventory, but saying it's a "bad thing" (that your inventory looks like a mess) is not something you can criticizes others for (in his case the game)...it's something you yourself need to change if you don't like it.

@@KuroNekojiNow that you said it, my house is actually just like my inventory lol, my mess is organised into types, shoes go together, dirty clothes are all clumped together ready for laundry day, and there is 50% of clean space ready for more mess until cleaning day comes up lol
there's even special bag types that filter stuff for folks that like that.
Complaining that map completion isn't account wide is like complaining that your Alts have things to do.
Like in WoW where when you have it that way, right?

53:55 pretty accurate description of my HoT experience! I knew jack about gw2 and after defeating the zombie dragon I felt like the goat. HoT’s utter chaos humbled me a ton
HoT was like walking off a cliff. It was thrilling and fun, especially with friends, but it was HARD and at times exasperating at initial release. Now I have a lot of fun bringing friends who've never touched it before through the content and hearing them scream in terror at their initial swarm of pocket raptors.

53:05 The Wizards Vault is locked to level 80. I don't know if 1 lvl 80 Character unlocks it account wide, but if you don't have any max level Character, you can't use it.
1 level 80 is enough. I was doing WV on my lvl 20alt. Esp for dailies like loot 10 enemies or dodge etc.
makes sense, a lot of the dailies and weeklies ask you to do meta events or just kill enemies from max level areas like the awakened and mordrem. the easiest dailies for new accounts are probably pvp because even if you have shit gear and no unlocked elite specs it doesn't matter there. In wvw, despite the level upscalling, gear matters and running core specs is rarely good, except for like, some guardian and necro builds. Though i have seen core rangers and thieves once in a while.
Note that the expansion also offers you a max-level boost; instant L80 character.

@muklukCZcams Am sad that people with this huge platforms don't give the game a fair chance because of their wow mentality. The only person who really gave it a chance is Preach and his opinion is valid.
Map completion is my bread and butter with playing GW2, love doing it!!
Except for the few stealth and the bunny heart... those are just attrocious.
RE: Dagda fight.. Skill issue honestly, not a hard fight or one that requires any specific build - though the build doesn't help.

Yeah, I was pissed because I play weaver, and even though I was a bit rusty, I didn’t have any issues. I still managed to beat her, and I died like 2 times (again I was a bit rusty 😂).
The build he was using is just atrocious for survivability, unless you have god level technique using an ele 🙈. It just feels like he doesn’t like the game and no amount of content is gonna convince him otherwise. Honest recommendation? Go full condi in open world (Carrion if you’re short on money, Viper if you can afford it). And if you wanna go power, go Marauder, or Dragon.
Also, a lot of things that he didn’t realize I already knew before hitting lvl 80 and before getting to my level of mastery points (247 btw). Not to be an asshole, but I know people with 20-30 mastery points that know better this game than him…
Yeah I get that the EoD strikes were a little too hard for the average person so I get making it a little easier, but they just completely nuked the difficulty. I mean I joined a strike where one of the healers forgot to switch to a healer build so we only played with one healer and we still cleared it with no deaths. That's BAD. It's so easy that I just get bored doing it. Like, they just have a big hp bar, that's it, you're just brainlessly mashing buttons the entire fight. I normally enjoy playing strikes but the SOTO ones feel like such a chore. Just really disappointed by them, I wish they would increase the difficulty in future patches. I feel like the difficulty level in Icebrood Saga strikes were good for the average squad

The thing that baffles me is that even if for some reason he didnt wish to change his equipment... where's the tanky food and utility? Where's the change to a more defensive build? Infuriating...
Weapon Master is the biggest reason I bought the latest exp. Edit: AND the ability to get to all of the old dungeons from Lions Arch. I really enjoy soloing old dungeons and that one thing is amazing.

I like doing map completion. When Ihave particularly stressful times in real life, I do a walkabout and whoever wants to join in walking through the roads of Tyria, just strolling can usually we have to take on the boss but that’s OK. I don’t think enough credit is given to the people who actually designed the look of the game. If you can’t remember, when the last time is you walk through Tyria ,try it. Credit to Goa And Mika who got me into this.
So The Lazy Peon doesn't even know that he can auto-sell grey items? 🤔 I can't take anything else that he says seriously then. You learn how to sell greys by lvl 3 at the latest.
You learn it from the first or second merchant you run into - If you know how to read....

He wants either, a grind for gear and a progression to go for better gear... or for it to not be something to consider at all.

A lot of his points are just so uninformed and I hate that people will agree with his itemization hot take (while complaining that there is not enough geargrind to keep him interested, huh?), not knowing many of the issues are really not issues if you spent a few more minutes looking into things (besides open world peeps not even needing hyper optimized builds to work and him just not being comfortable with ele/cata)
I do agree with the intro feeling unpolished (and especially on the German localization it shows that level), but the rest isn't fair and will just be negative press for a game that sadly still struggles with it's image (dead game meme)
there's so many ways to get stat selectable gear or just gear in general: Verdant brink, Living world maps, WvW (admittedly not the best way to spend those currencies, but it's there), fractals, strikes, pvp (some reward tracks, and of course warlord exotics). Peon doesn't like PvE? then he should just grind gear by doing pvp, perfectly viable source of gear. The hardest gear to get is like, ascended trinkets/backpieces for specific stats like plaguedoctor or diviner or ritualist... or you can just buy the stat selectable ascended you can reset, ie, bloodstone, mist and jade mist items from pve, pvp and wvw. That's technically the more annoying slots to grind for, but you get the option to reset the stats of those ascended, making them like a pseudo legendary that you pay per stat change.
You ALWAYS clean up your bags before log out... You never know when you may log out and not log back in for a very, very long time unexpectedly, and then get stuck dealing with a broken brain. For me, the only part of the world completion I want to be account wide is waypoints... Hearts, Vistas, Locations and Hero Points are more than enough for map completion. Separate waypoints off into their own completion/achievement and then make it account wide.
I actually really want to play alts... But I don't want to go through and run (ride) to each and every single waypoint again... I also don't want to spend money on unlocking them for every single character!... Like, make, it accounts wide if you buy it... geese
Yeah jumping in on cata was INSANE! I used to roam as D/D cata in WvW and it took me a few days to get a handle on things, and another few before I could actually win fights, only to be chased down and murdered by the P/P blind spammer thief build lol.
I feel like it's also worth mentioning how they give you loot in this game. They give you currencies from everywhere that you can turn into gold to buy what you want, or you can turn into the item you want. Most games just drop you a armor or weapon and this game tends to not do that, which seems lost on him
The only valid criticism he made in this review is the ambient chatter overlapping the story NPCs' dialogs. But I still can't imagine getting that annoyed over it. I just read the chat bubbles no problem. Also the hide from Cerus story instance was easy as fuck idk why he was struggling that much lol.

If the ambient chatter annoys you, you can TURN IT OFF. I do. Check your sound settings! You can individually turn off all kinds of NPC voices, special sound effects, music, etc.
@@imayb1 You missed the point. The ambient chatters don't annoy me, or him. It's the overlapping that's the problem. I don't agree with many things he's said in his review but one shouldn't need to turn off chatters completely to be able to hear what the story NPC is saying. They should just make it so that ambient chatters don't play when you are engaging with a story NPC.

Guild Wars 3 should be a Single Player Action Adventure Story Driven Game that lets ArenaNet experiment with gameplay not possible in an MMO settings like Guild Wars 2. It would be cool to see a new setting were characters from Tyria become space traveling species like in Mass Effect / Star Wars. It could also have coup features. Something that can be easily ported to consoles for additional revenue and help people get interest in GW2.

Yah that catalyst build really designed to be group play only. Catalyst has great survivability if you are running a open world build/celestial.

Just like his original gw2 video, which he deleted after the gw2 community shit on it. There was so much incorrect BS in that video. He then made a video that just kissed gw2's ass. It's so damn transparant. All just for views with minimum effort.
Another point about gearing for WvW is that it's a different kind of group content. New WvWers aren't expected to immediately fill a role perfectly. A player with full orange and no elite specs can do just fine running with a good group and paying attention to the gameplay. Can that player solo everything? Will that player feel like they're making a huge difference? Not necessarily. Can they have fun, learn the game, and make progress towards higher numbers? Absolutely. imo, having that room to grow feels really good.
I get the feeling TheLazyPeon wouldn't like GW3 unless Blizzard makes it...

I must admit to do storylines/expansions for the first time I go lazy ass on a necro minion master to make things easy before I try it on other classes. Learnt this when trying to complete expansions after getting stuck on other classes and going back after improving on how to get the classes that were stuck through to the end.

Your response is great but you need to clarify legendary armor specifically not being universally available to every character and that it depends on the armor weight the class uses.
So if you made heavy legendary armor for a warrior or a guardian, you cannot use that armor on your necromancer/mesmer/elementalist as they use light armor.
To truly reach universal availability for all classes, you need to craft at least 3 entire sets of legendary armor, one for each armor weight.
Legendary accessories and weapons however have no such restrictions, so a lot of people prefer going for those first.

Inventory is absolutely a mess. They need to start deleting items and increasing stack sizes
I'd say one of the first things they gotta do is take a look at the loot bags.
For example you get 9 bags with same name, icon, and loot, but for some reason don't stack because they're *somehow* different.
I feel like they should turn all existing bags into universal ones across entire game, and have them come in tiers (kinda like random item drops turned into blue, green and yellow unidentified gear)
I play against Dadga on weaver and it is really hard fight. Mostly because how squishy elementalist is and how a lot of skill are animation lock. Melee is also really hard on this boss. I play this story again on staff mirage and it is night and day.
He sure was playing the game on hard mode with that catalyst build.

With the patch that allows new class weapons, do you have to fully unlock that mastery to permanently unlock that weapon or is it unlocked from the beginning of the character? I’ve had a level 80 thief since before the patch, and when I try to equip the staff or rifle, it does not show me any weapon abilities to use. I do not have the elite specializations fully unlocked.
So they appear to have tweaked it since its release. You only have to unlock the weaponmaster feature once per account, which allows each character you have to use elite weapons of any spec THEY HAVE TRAINED (this is the new part) at any time.

Hey Muk ! I have a question. I have a glass cannon build too, level 80 thief, but I only have 14k HP despite having a fully upgraded jade core. Since you are at 20k HP, I was wondering if my HP was low only because of my class or if there was something else I'm missing ?
Not all classes have the same HP when naked, so that doesn't mean you are doing anything wrong. I was using my numbers as an example but should have explained myself better.
Wow thanks for the info on jade bot core. I play casually from time to time and I completely missed that higher tiers give so much vitality. I think devs could stress more the importance of jade core to your character. because this is a massive buff for casual players. I think most people take It like "ah this is something that makes bot better" and moves on
If you don't have End of Dragons I don't think you can equip one.
As well, Jade Bots are PER character, so I think the problem with LazyPeon, is that he said he rerolled from a Warrior, and I wouldn't be surprised if his Warrior had one but didn't realize they weren't account wide and didn't have one for his Elementalist.
I can't remember if they are account bound and you can move them around or not.

one day, i was watching a runescape 3 review , by lazypeon, he always says that one of the major issues of rs3 is because it's progression is so fast, and then.. he recommeded to play as ironman character ( that has no acess to any trade, auction house or something similar, that has slower progression compared to others normal accounts ).
So he started a new character on ironman settings to review the state of rs3 .. and saw that the progression was more slow than it was before ( they nerfed xp gain ) , , he went back to his main maxed account, and sayed that the " fast progression " was something that he liked in rs3 , and now they nerfed it.
After this, I cant take his reviews serious.

hey muk, when you did the jadecore HP explanations at 14:00 the compare was a bit unfair:
every armorclass has one Low, one medium and one large HP variant:
low = ele, Thief, Guardian
medium = Mesmer, Engi, Revenant
large = necro, Ranger, Warrior
so even without the jadecore the HP Gap is huge between ele and Ranger

I started to take what he say with a grain of salt after FF14, where he said that he bought the skip the story thing in the cash shop.
I am probably the odd one out, but I actually really appreciate that gw2 lets you figure stuff out on your own. I tend to get easily overwhelmed by explanations and they usually don't help me at all. The only thing I would change is that the game introduced new players to/ reminded returning players of "/wiki". And maybe they could try and actively work with content creators, really lean into the "help eachother out" thing.
Here's hoping the new meta is Mukluk continuing to make react videos, this was excellent.

Muk not to be rude but all of his videos are like this. He makes videos about literally EVERY mmo he can find. Ofc he has no actual insight of any of the games because he just plays a few hours / days of each game, reads a quick summary about the game and makes a video. From my experience you need like at least 2 months of playing an mmo to start actaully understanding the game and like 4-6 months of playing to actually point out real issues with the game. You cant do that if you need to make a video about any and all mmorpgs

I would love if you could unlock at least a waypoint on the other maps for other alts when you world complete on one. Then you can still do the completions but can move the others around to events if you need to. I say that as someone who's done full world completion multiple times just bc I enjoy the process.

This was exactly my thoughts as well when I first watched it. 5 min in and I was wondering why he even bothered making a video. It's like he was annoyed from the start. I think it was especially confusing since his other videos have all been very fair and positive imo.

Heart of Thorns was the first time in years I'd had a computer capable of running GW2 (I was 16, didn't have the cash in my belt for a real PC back then) so I hadn't played the game properly in years. So to this day pocket raptors give me flashbacks. Fortunately Anet's gotten WAY better at introducing crucial mechanics before ganking you with them and giving new players some time to learn before the game really puts them through their paces. Honestly I don't think the GW2 players were ever more in sync with the actual characters of the game. The Maguuma Jungle was supposed to be the part in the story where you're confident you can take on a dragon and then Mordremoth drop kicks you into the Maguuma Jungle to get swarmed by pocket raptors lol. But I'm glad Anet doesn't want to put us through that again.
Well I don't mind LazyPeons reaction about GW2 since he is just a new player people need to chill with the comments cause it is his opinion as a new player. Those MPs, Legendary Gears, and other QOL items are not available to a new player so Lazy Peons take are actually true.
Ele got the lowest base health pool in the game and yeah this is without the jade core.
and lowest base toughness, literally weakest class defensively by default, though he had a catalyst, which can be tanky if played with proper gear and traits.

I think GW2's graphics is even better than other modern MMOs. GW2 still for me the best true MMO that respects players' time and overall gameplay.

unlikely, though it would be nice if they let us use all those guild decorations for something outside of a guild hall... Like, maybe they could revamp home instances in a way like lion arch... we still get to go to the ''old'' instances for story, but any functionallity could be in a revamped version more like proper housing and with all the nodes and cats we collected.
I want to get into GW2. I am wondering though do I need to buy all the dlc right away to fully enjoy it? dropping 90$ right away and if I dont like it seems rough.
You can play the "core" game for free. Just know its not exactly the same experience of having the expansions. But at least you can get an idea of game before buying anything. If you do like the game wait for a sale and buy the expansions.
I would encourage downloading the free core game (link in video description if you want it) and try it out. You can go all the way to max level on free to play and decide at any time on the way there if you wish to unlock more content. If you want more, you could buy the expansions at that time.
