It's funny how people come down on FAMU about your hazing problem like we are the only band to do so. If your in a band or have been in one; you would know what every band does it. FAMU is a well know band among others. Please don't hate on us because we are in the spotlight all the time. Just step your game up and do better. We work hard to get where we are so don't hate; congratulate! Oh yeah, by the way, for all those hating THE MARCHING 100 WILL BE BACK IN THE FALL 2013!!!

@sidman1408 The Pre-Game show is more meant for spirit tunes and bringing the football team in so yeah it's supposed to be boring lol. The crowd just gets hype no matter what we do
...... Some people need a ruler to draw. Some people can create a masterpiece from a disaster. Abstraction has it's own qualities.... Or maybe the idea is to go to Contest and see the same concept thrown around exponentially.... I guess some people's ideas of creativity can be overly exaggerated to those who have a different tradition.
It will only be "known" as the "Hazed to death March" to those ignorant enough to embrace being non intellegent about WHATEVER it is that they speak of... In the name of attention at that. Knowledge is power. Discrediting someone else's beliefs it to question your own. Just coast. We still do more than most without being present so that speaks volumes. Hope you enjoyed your moments. I guess it is common and expected. Just know every band/organization has a purpose.
My high school marching band is a Big 10 style marching band and we do a counter march along with our march show. It is considered "death defying" to some people. Search "2012 North Hills Marching Band Festival: March Show" if you want to check us out.

@propertyofj You can't judge a HBCU marching band by one show like you can a DCI corps and most high school marching bands, and indeed most white college marching bands. DCI corps and corps style bands learn just one amazing show per year. HBCU bands perform completely new shows every week, while maintaining a college student's schedule.
After seeing Southern come to FAMU during OUR homecoming in 1994 and LAY THEIR INSTRUMENTS ON THE GROUND TO ATTEMPT A DANCE ROUTINE??? Wholely and shamefully disrespectful to HBCU bands!!!! You lose any credibility to espouse any commentary on marching bands again in this life or the next 1000!!!

This is a memorial tribute to their late 50+ year band director. And it would be a shame if every DCI corps wasn't better than this. They learn one show a year. Show bands change their drill every week depending on the circumstances, so yes the drill will be simplistic with only a week to learn it.
With the school you go to you never know how soon that would be! Your band had NO credibility what so ever anymore you guys gave ALL HBCU band across the nation a bad name, You guys get no RESPECT!
FAMU SORRY AS HELL!! they look so lost on the field not knowing where the hell to go. They cant even march and play at the same time. SU work hard and give it their all. They play and march nonstop to at least 3 of their songs while executing perfect beautiful drills. Famu simply stand in place while playing. People want to see a band that can march nonstop and play like SU or JSU. Also u can give famu a jamming r&b song but when they play it, it sounds like a white band playing the song.

This band is a American institution and nothing comes close ! This entrance took almost a hundred years to perfect

There is no better entrance to the field better than FAM’s old school slow one death march period. None....

FAMU is not that famous around the world lol, ACTUALLY! The 100 is a great band but there are several others like JSU and SU
And none of them did the Presidential inauguration party or the Superbowl 🤷🏿♂️
