Great Work, well done John.
Interesting Story you picked here.
thanks! It's one of my favorite stories in Silicon Valley history. really don't want it to be forgotten.
Building the same billion dollar company twice is cool 'n all... but can he do it 3 times?
*cough* *cough* Sam Altman
I know... I really want to do it, but the story clearly isn't over yet and I don't want to post something that is instantly out of date.
The context in description is a great add! Sets the tone up-front :)
Great video as always!
I never comment on a CZcams video, but man this story is Inspiring and the way John told it is absolutely amazing and insightful to watch.
Dude I love these origin stories of various founders. Really inspiring. Makes me think I am on the right path and if these people can persevere and overcome, then maybe so can I.
Thanks for telling this story, I am truly inspired
"But can he defeat Goku tho?!"
I been following this story and Rippling for a while glad someone finally made a video about it.
Loved to see the disclaimer! Such an startup way to quickly incorporate the users feedback from your last video.
for sure! it makes so much sense to give more context to how I meet these founders. I think it actually adds to the video in a really positive way!
great story, i do like adding your context for why and how you made this story
Amazing video and great editing. It felt like a documentry.
Just how they handled svb crisis deserves a video on its own
Steve Jobs had the greatest come back in silicon valley history.
After that he created life changing products after products that changed the world forever.
you've kept me awake way past my bedtime, damn your content it great :D
I regret not joining Rippling as the 7th engineer.
Thank you for sharing amazing story.
Which tell us how hard is entrepreneurship.
I also noticed how well you use runway and midjourney in your video.
Think this is his first time actually putting a disclaimer. Appreciate your transparency
Shoutout to Conard for showing us building enterprise software is cool.
Love your videos but this one was special. Parker seems like the real deal
Another awesome video brother about a well chosen entrepreneur! Listen, your presentation skills are so engaging that Tom Bilyeu could take lessons from you on speaking with passion and sincerity. And that's a heck of a compliment considering we both know Tom is a SuperStar! Keep up the great work brother!
Great stuff
we really want this kind of stories , we like real insights of the founders ,and early emplemployees, I really liked how you used the AI videos , please try bring this kind of stories.
and lots of Respect to narration.
It rubs me the wrong way some founders are glorified. This dude built the same company twice, boasted about getting 120m ARR in 4 months, yet they still relied on 1 bank, single point of failure. They they need to resort to hastily rising 500m and furiously hack for 10 days to make payroll. For a company that should be great with numbers they were pretty loose with risk aversion. You would expect from companies throwing 100m around to have a backup plans, crisis scenarios worked out but instead you get a video swooning over bad business practices. What Rippling did was knowingly putting their own customers in danger of the whole system failing... by relying entrilely on one bank up until that late point of their existence.
This video was very insightful, kudos for the great effort you and your team put into this video 🎉
Ozempic also appears in this story. People are going to assume that he lost all that weight because he lost his original company
I'm currently Parker! Lost my company after building it to $40 mill and had my reputation shredded! Refuse to give up and building back up while battling depression. This video was truly inspirational and guideline to take care of myself while building again. Thank you, John!
I feel these are becoming sponsored videos of tech billionaires
Good video
its crazy how this didn't mention how Parker alleges David Sacks screwed him over.
Please do Ineos/Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Building twice is impressive but Can he beat Goku though
16:00 what an insane exaggeration. No bank is foreclosing on a house because of a payment that is a few days late
wow did not know Sacks was a snake
Not linking to Logan Bartlett's podcast from which all the clips of his telling his story come from is not cool
I really appreciated this piece. This channel is very monolithic in the sense that it focuses a lot on the journeys of white male entrepreneurs and their fundraising efforts. I watch because as a black female business owner this is one of the only “spaces” that I get to hear these conversations in full detail. Also as a business owner I wish I could identify as a white man so it can finally stop being so damn hard (but that’s another story for another time). This piece wasn’t the typical story - he has the same typical pedigree but somehow he manages to put people 1st 🥇 despite having to rebuild and start over. I enjoyed watching this - thank you.
21:43 the most useless person and comment iv ever heard
He's looking good these days. No point in making billions if your health is in poverty.
Pretty dope video but i feel like its not as engaging as your other origin stories you've made. A massive fan brother.
why do they talk about sending money through WU as going to war lmao
He's gotta watch his weight. He's ballooned to nearly obese. Hope he doesn't have an underlying health issue causing that. As for comebacks, well, that's kind of the norm in SV. Fail often until you succeed. I feel sorry he ran afoul of the government, but that's also common, as it is said every CEO is probably violating the law every day they work (Amazon probably is breaking the Robinson-Patman act every day for example, though they have carveouts). As for restarting, surprised the previous company didn't have a non-compete agreement; probably they were unsophisticated.

Man, those news clips make this borderline unwatchable. Their tone of voice gets under the skin. So annoying. At least make it 50% volume if they have to be there. Not that they add any real value.
I've been enjoying watching the channel. But I'm not interested in watching commercials about the companies or founders backed by the Founders Fund. Time for me to unsubscribe. All the best!
Thanks for watching this video. What company do you want to hear about next?
BLACKROCK PLEASE
A video on the company Zynga would make a fun and interesting video. Back in the heyday of Facebook games it made a lot of games that people loved to play like Farmville. I believe that making a video on the company and the impact it had on Facebook games would be a great nostalgic video for your viewers, that is if they had a Facebook account, of course, which we both know that over 90% of your audience have had one before and have mostly likely played a Facebook/Zynga game before.

@@mattastovall this is a great idea. I'm in a few group chats with him and would love to interview him and his team. It's such a fascinating process with tons of lessons for anyone building social apps. Will reach out to him!
