For those who might not understand... Speaking as a climber, it's not frightening because your mind is very focused on ONLY where your feet (and hands) are as you make each move. Yes, you can enjoy the position you are in, the view etc, but only when you feel or know you are at a completely stable point. That may happen between two steps or when you reach a wider ledge, but mostly you are focused on your steps, you breathing, and on what is within 2 or 3 feet of you. This is also the way to climb huge mountains. You never really try to take on the whole mountain as one thing, you climb in smaller stages, from one rest to another. Basically you break your route down into sections. Either way, the idea is that you stay within yourself, within the immediate environment and presence of mind. If you lose yourself in the wider "dream" well... let's just say that's when things may go wrong. If you undersrand this then climbing anything is not so scary. And not just climbing but in life as well.
I actually did this!!! I just graduated and went to Switzerland to celebrate and see a bit of the world. Some locals told me about this hike, it takes about 2 hours and it is amazing!! Terrifying at some points however it is totally breathtaking the entities time! I would definitely do it again if I got the chance.

Yes as a noob I wouldn’t suggest it, but if you’ve got climbing experience and have done a via Feratta with an instructor before you’re all good. I’m a climber and did my first one with an instructor, but had loads of climbing experience beforehand. It’s not massively dissimilar from climbing but there are a few points to take note of.

You don't need a guide anywhere in the Alps. But unless you really know what you're doing, it is advisable to hire a guide onto high peaks and glaciers. Most via ferrata are actually tourist attractions, accessible to anyone who is reasonably fit. But even with the right gear you can still get hurt or injured very badly.
Are you sure this is the one in Mürren? I did it Tuesday, and this part looks different than the Murren one, honestly much scarier 😅😂 it doesn’t look like the Lauterbrunnen valley either! Maybe another via Ferrata in Switzerland, looks more epic and challenging
