I bought a 2006 Mini Cooper S yesterday and had no idea how everything worked. Thank you SO much for this fantastic video.
I bought the convertible S a year ago. Most fun car I’ve had in 20 years!
Per local guys British cars shop (it’s BMW motor design/parts). Change oil every 6k and rotate tires every 3k. Don’t take it to a generic oil change place, they will screw it all up.
Find a local British or German car shop or mechanic that will do it right. Mine has been pretty reliable. Bought with 68k and have 112k on it now.
Just replaced the battery (it’s under the rear hatch floor cover) yesterday.
Replaced thermostat housing ($640) here in Cali. That’s it! Driven to Vegas and back a couple of times. It’s VERY comfortable. Wife likes traveling in it and so does our little dog. Chose it over a 2 seater Porsche Boxster.
Loving it, a year later!
PS: same 2006 Convertible Mini Cooper S, supercharged, 6 speed!

In the glove box to the right of the Aux cable is a knob. If you turn it open it allows cold air from aircon into the glove box to keep it cold like a fridge.
My road beer does not last long enough to get warm.

I really appreciated this video. I bought a beautiful, low mileage 2004 S but for some reason the owner didn't include the owner's manual. I could figure out most but not all of the switch gear so this video was very helpful.

Hello, great video, I h e to add one more feature I realised many 1st gen Mini owners don't know, if you shortly push toggle for windows it will go all the way down, same thing for raising them. Further, some Minis have active feature to keep pushed unlock button on your keyfob, it will open all the windows and sunroof. If it is not active in your service you can ask and they will activate it for you. While you there you can ask them to activate also lights to switch off automatically when you switch off car even your leaver remains up in ON position, this is useful feature if you prefer to drive with lights on all the time.

I just bought an 08 Mini Base and there is some overlap on your car so that was helpful. However, an owners manual did not come with the car and it's as if the Mini is a list of gadgets with a car built around it. I think I will be discovering controls years from now (assuming it lasts that long). I don't have the advanced stereo but do have the bluetooth. I originally came to look for a tutorial for the little joystick in the center console that controls the nav computer and other stuff I'm not sure what it is. However, despite your car not having that a lot of the controls especially on the steering column were helpful. If anyone is aware of a video that goes over the bluetooth/nav computer for an 08 that would be helpful as well. Thanks for your vid.

Just learned this. 3 buttons on the bottom left on the mirror can be paired to your garage door opener. :)
I've got to sit my driving test tomorrow in the same car. I was freaking out about remembering where everything is in the car.
I'm relaxed now, one less thing to worry about. If I pass tomorrow I'll pop you a tip as my problem was I'd get flustered and look in the wrong place for the window buttons etc.

You did not point out about the central locking switch that if you hold it up/down for 5 seconds it will close /open all windows and operate the roof

You can buy a aux audio adapter cable. At the back of radio, it has a place for cable connection. And here is the link for the audio aux adapater cable.

Hello, I purchased a paceman s 2015 about 4 months ago. How do I know if the service indicators are correct. I only noticed recently, when I first put the key fob in, start the car, it shows service with a -5000, but I don't recall seeing this when I first purchased the vehicle. I recently had an oil change and I am wondering if the tech set the service information incorrectly, or does the computer on the vehicle automatically reset itself? I did not get an owner's manual with the vehicle,but I downloaded one from online which is a countryman/paceman combo manual. Several features on the paceman are not in the manual, like do I have a factory alarm on the car. When I use the key fob to lock the car, I don't hear the little beep sound when most people hear when they remotely lock their vehicle, that's one thing. Another thing is there's like a little rectangular, red color, I think liight on top of the tachometer and I have no idea what its for, it doesn't light up and i'm not sure whether it is a light or not. There is also what appears to look like a camera lens on the backside of the rear view mirror but i'm not sure what it's for either, I thought maybe it was the garage door opener feature, but there are no buttons on the mirror anywhere to activate!!! , that's just a few of my unknowns, can you help?

There is a recall for the passenger seat weight switch that causes the light to turn on. I had the dealership replace it, they do it for free. The light stayed on, they said it wont turn off. Kinda lame, I didn't like it but it's worth finding out about your daughters. I'd be interested to know if they replace it and your light turns off. Hope that helps!
Can you tell me what the tire sensor button below the e-brake is for?! Is it a traction control button?
In owner manual comes. If you dont have it. Then on internet you can find it easly.
It turns off the low air pressure tire warning light.

Faith Winchell the key fob has a lock button and the mini symbol is unlock.
Yeah, my buttons don't work on my fob. The battery is dead and you can't just pop it open and replace the battery because it's soldered together 🙄

@@troybegay2670 Autozone, O'reilly's and Amazon is where I've found parts and tires. Look that up on here, I'm sure someone has posted a video on how to do that. I do know when you mess with the brake system that you have to replace the speed/brake sensors also. They aren't much at Auto Zone. They're like $25 a piece but you DO have to replace them. I did see a video where you can bypass that but I wouldn't do it.
There's a cable with a ring on the end underneath the back seat on the passenger side close to the middle of the two seats. As far as I know it's the only way to open the 3rd door from inside the car.
