I wore out at least 3 VHS copies of this show. Heartland Reggae combines the many vibrant talents of some incredible musicians, each a major star, and the performances are outstanding. Incredible times, incredible music, incredible people.
This takes me back years watched it on vcr back in early 90's. I was smoking the herbs with my friends when my father came back home, i sent all 3 of them up a mango tree in the back yard. Neighbors would not mind their business, lol. good days
Di people dem compare Jah Bob to MLK and bredda Jah Peter to Malcolm X dem!! Trutru opposite side di seme coin bwai!! Runfa cova Rasta takin ova!!🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🦁🇪🇹🇪🇹🇪🇹
From what i can tell Bobs performance was from the ever famouse One Love Peace Concert, Peter was playing a small hall in "dinaatpoole" wherever that is, Dennis Brown,Jacob Miller, Junior Tucker, U-Roy, Althea & Donna were all in thst open field in Sav-la-Mar...big shouts as well to the background vocals and instrumentation to Lloyd Parks & the People dem...and le t s not forget the beautiful ebony sista Judy Mowatt and her Light of Love band ...ya know what im gonna stop there bc thesebare all immensely talented 3rd world gods and godesses of the music milliuer!!! Jamaica gave our world so much and still does and anyone whose here already knows this..goodnight from Charlotte, NC see dem Babylon fall!!!!
Look to the East a king is crown King of Kings and Lord of Lords Conquering Lion of the tribe of Juda H.I.M.....keep on the right path. Truth and Rights....
If I had a time machine, the first place I would go would be to dance with the dudes at 12:35 of this video, while Dennis Brown is on a stage in rural Jamaica with a chicken-man performing next to him.
37:30 Make way for king of the dreads! Dude shows up with his hair down during Dennis Brown's set as well. He's sporting some impressive locks! Does anybody know his name? (White open button shirt, bare feet, tambourine) Love Heartland Reggae - probably the best concert film of its genre.
An old friend who kept me safe like a safety pin😉 Natty "Ras***d" Garfield is the man who pops up out of the water and says "RASTAFARI!!" @ 31:25 🖤🦁👊🏾🇯🇲 Back when my Sweet Jamaica belonged to Jamaicans🖤🇯🇲👊🏾💪🏾🙌🏽 Today China is buying it up like a winner of a Monopoly game! The rest to the highest bidder! Beautiful places and beaches we use to go freely during this time, are now off limits to the natives unless they pay the same prices tourist pay! Check out Buju Banton's new song "Country For Sale." Imagine him returning home and seeing damn near the whole island sell of!! Kmt😕😞😟😔 Greedy politicians selling it off for their own greedy benefit!!😡😡😡
Every time I watch that last performance when Bob called up the Prime Ministers my eyes tears up and I get goosebumps. Bob was a real prophet sent by Jah (God). Those evil devils assassinated him because his music was too powerful and will mobilize and empower the Black race .
Anyone disturbed by how many young, vital headliners were DEAD just years after this event? Bob had already been shot in the chest in his home & was silently battling cancer, Rita grazed in the head by Seaga's CIA-backed thugs by this point but less is said about the deaths of Peter Tosh & especially Jacob Miller. Peter was beaten brutally in the head by police after giving a pro-cannabis speech at this very concert, causing hallucinations until his untimely murder in 1987. He too was shot in his home. His son was later killed by a beating he incurred in prison on a marijuana charge. Jacob Miller allegedly crashed his car while taking his eyes off the road, though, like Marley in "Rat Race", he called out the CIA in his songs ("Why Can't We Be Friends"). Running people off the road is a well-known intelligence agency murder tactic (see: Karen Silkwood, Princess Di/the MI6). May be a coincidence but the CIA's heavy presence in Jamaica at that time makes me think not. The fact Bob would even touch their dirty hands after they tried to kill him makes me tear up; that CIAga spoke at his funeral makes me sick. It's not shown here but Miller united the brutal warlords of Tivoli (Claudie Massop) & the Jungle (Tony Welch) onstage at this concert too. That had to put a target on his back if all the posturing with the weed & police hat didn't. I'm white but find it shocking how Black people are almost expected not to make it to age 50... as if everyone of all races is just numb to it by now. They create elaborate conspiracy theories for stars who CLEARLY overdosed or killed themselves but sketchy deaths like this it's just... crickets. Those who encourage peace over profitable war ALWAYS get killed, from Jesus to Gandhi to MLK to John Lennon. These well-intentioned artists were used, their lives put in extreme danger for a photo op. Let this be a reminder that politicians are NOT your friends! They see us as peasants, pawns & cannon fodder. ✊🏿✊🏻✊🏾
Is that the rasta from the movie rockers? The one at the beginning with the one lock down his back? He’s on the stage with Dennis brown! 😃 wicked 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
maltin gave this a BOMB rating...while that’s a little harsh (the music is fabulous), this is so cheaply put together it’s impossible to ignore. it’s like someone’s home movies. this is the exact opposite of a masterpiece like Stop Making Sense.

I wish they had more videos with Dennis Browns live performances. Don't really see a lot . This is one of few that I know of at least .
Agreed. You have to look for them specifically and even then.. not very much available for a man that toured everywhere
15 years lucking up for this video
disparado maior festival de reggae da história
There was an attack on marley a few days before the one love concert. Jamaica's violent elections came after so sad.
Good Netflix documentary “who killed bob Marley” has footage from this tape.
