Camila had said that there were times in the group where she felt like they all had to grow up faster, but as she got older, she got more comfortable expressing her sexuality on stage.

donte pearce she said when she was in 5h they were basically forced to grow up. They all said that. They had to wear things that they didn't want to wear because that's wat ppl would like. And those were actually LAURENs words. Camila literally had to sing that she doesn't like it too soft but likes it a little rough when she was like 16/17??? They weren't comfortable to do that at that age but they obviously HAD to. But as they all grew up they became more comfortable. It's a normal thing. Just like how when Lauren was younger she told us multiple times that she wasn't bi. But as she grew up she became more comfortable with herself and realized that she was. But Camila NEVER said she felt over sexualized. All she said was when they were younger, they were forced to do/wear/dance/sing stuff that they weren't comfortable with. It's sad because that's wat sells now. Ppl with actual talent and sing actual/real lyrics don't really sell music. A great example is Tori Kelly. Her lyrics r so real and powerful. When she performs she doesn't wear anything revealing(not that wearing revealing things is wrong tho. That's ur choice) but that's why she's not big. But she deserves to be. And That's why on basically EVERY tour they went on, Camila had a little back piece to her skirt so no one would see her butt. Or she would wear pants for performances. She just wasn't comfortable then. But she's not 16/17/18 anymore. She's a grown adult that's gonna be 21 soon. She's getting more comfortable with her body. She never said that was the reason why she left 5H either. Y'all love putting words in her mouth. Just because now she likes to shake her butt and wear particular things, doesn't mean "OH SHE LEFT 5H CAUSE SHE WAS OVERSEXUALIZED BUT LOOK AT HER NOW". I literally saw that comment in the Hey Ma music video just because she was wearing a dress and the camera was following her butt😂y'all r crazy. Let Camila live.
Camila said there were times where she was told to do/sing certain things by higher ups (management, label execs, etc) that she wasn't entirely comfortable with when she was younger and that she had to learn to put her foot down. She never knocked 5h or anything they performed while she was there. She also said that there's nothing wrong with owning and embracing your sexuality and all of that. She just had to come into her own. She's grown, and now she's more comfortable on stage. I appreciate you guys being honest without bashing her. There's a difference between the two, you guys give good critiques and suggestions.

she's more comfortable bc she had a hand in the lyrics so she used words she were comfortable to sing like 'lalala' or 'bounce like a yoyo' its nothing compared to 'i like it a little rough but not too much' which she changed the lyrics but sometimes she was comfortable ti sing the lyrics. originally article she said 5h was sexualized when they first started & she was 15. as she grew older she learned to put her foot down which is why you saw her only one in pants for performances or during tour she was only one in puffy skirt that covered her butt. she can't change choreo but the clothes & the lyrics she sang she changed

This was a fun song that isn't on her album that she made with Charli while writing "Scar Tissue" a song to be featured on her album. That's why the lyrics are crazy("Pull up straight from Tokyo" she's only been there twice! You ain't pulling up from there all the time haha). But it's just for fun and if you check out the other performances from this set (Havana and I'll Never Be The Same) she was showcasing the different styles she can do. But yeah, Her exec producer Frank Dukes makes hip hop beats and he sent her the beat and she and Charli liked it and just wrote OMG on a whim.
As for the over-sexualization statement, she said there were times when the label and the ppl around them tried to sexualize all the girls and they all had to put their foot down. Most notably, when she was 16 they made her sing the line "I don't like it, like it too soft, I like it a little rough" in Worth It and she hated singing it but they just sing the parts they're told to and the words are written by someone else(part of the reason she left). She said in an interview that there's nothing wrong with singing these things if you feel them but she at that age didn't feel that (which is why she would sing Dinah's verse again in live performances instead). She's 20 now and clearly much more comfortable in her sexuality, but even so I don't think there's anything too sexual in this song. I thought this set was so much fun she is a great performer, my friends who went loved her. Can't wait to see what she does on the road with Bruno Mars next month!
jeremie osbourne in several interviews she's said she let some fans at Wango Tango hear a few songs off the album and she said there was one she wasn't putting on there but that a lot of her fans liked. It was OMG. And I doubt she'll put it on. It clashes with the rest of the writing on her album which is much more mature and consistent with the story she's telling. OMG is a good standalone bonus track. She would be foolish to cow to the fact ppl like it and put it on the album, people who don't know her would judge her writing ability off of that and think she's trash. The song is just a fun song she wrote in between sessions and a throw away for these summer performances she's doing.
also the comment about this not seeming like her sound. she has memtioned since being in 5h her music style sound has evolved. you can't expect her to release depressing songs lol she mentioned she wanted to do fun songs to dance to as well. her album has hurting, healing, loving elements & said the loving has fun songs. as for the different genres she mentioned that she never wanted to do straight pop music.
I don't think they expect her to just do depressing songs all the time, but hip hoppy pop is not what anyone would expect from her. I agree that it didn't seem like her element at all but it is a fun song.
ecabby2010 she mentioned that her albums going to be r&b influences so will be hearing more of it lol her producer is frank dukes so for sure urban influenced. just her songs so far has been a variety of that, pop/rock, pop, latin, she had some songs done with diplo so if that makes the album well get dance/carribean vibes. never fully grasp an artist sound while in a group until they finally go solo lol we expect one thing & they surprise us
ecabby2010 its just weird from other reactions they do of hers they just expect her to so the types of songs where she just stands there and sings. they really pigeon holed her to be that type of artist so any divergent comes off as out of her element or not natural. that will never be her especially coming out of 5h lol even the song she did with shawn she couldn't just stand still lmao same with the whole sexualized debate i feel like ppl will still bring that up like with any song/performance ppl precieve as sexual/suggestive. she didn't feel comfortable at 15 & ppl expect her to still not be comfortable at 19 with how much they keep bringing it up lol
R&B and hip hop are two different genres, but I do get that she is experimenting and R&B could be a good lane for her. I like what she's done so far and I'm not judging her based off of what she's done in a group, I just think that the hip hop genre has a certain swag with it and she doesn't necessarily have that naturally so it comes off as a little forced or as if she's trying too hard to be well-rounded to some people that are fans of that genre. Her dancing is not the strongest, it's definitely improved, but it could be a lot better and sometimes it does seem like she's thinking too hard about it instead of letting it flow. Both songs with Shawn & MGK didn't have choreo, it was her own dance moves so of course it looked more natural, but her doing choreo alone simply needs work, just as it did in 5H. That's all K was saying. And with that oversexualized situation, I think the media twisted it to so it's going to be brought up regardless.
I know, but that doesn't necessarily mean that that's the lane she should take, in my opinion I think she's stronger in other genres. Just because you like something doesn't mean you should do it lol.
