It should be noted that Italy's failure to qualify to the last WC was due to two missed Jorginho penalties vs Switzerland (Spain came 1st in the group). They then went out in the playoffs that was won by Portugal. It was razor close it wasn't like they just stunk and had no business being there. The last WC would have been objectively better with Italy in the mix. I'm just saying this because everyone seems to gloss it over as if there was some collossal drop off in form. There was a drop in form for sure after the heater leading to the Wembley victory, but let's keep it real.

His teammates playing the ball sideways, instead of forward, and I saw when he made runs in the box and no one picked him up, they just kept playing the ball sideways, and then the ref made it worse with all his inept decisions, he was actually pulled down in the box but nothing was given, which was the same situation with us Germans vs Switzerland, Beier got dragged down in the box and ref didn't grant us a penalty.. I understood his frustration, because the way these youngsters are now playing, that's not the manner he is accustomed to.. And people are saying they saw Portugal playing for Cr7 and also he has not scored in the group stage for the first time.. You really think he was desperate to score in the group stage?? If he was, believe me, he wouldn't have assisted Bruno, he would have scored himself.. Another point, if Portugal was playing for Cr7, he would have scored a couple goals already, because of the amount of runs I have seen him make, yet they just passed the ball backwards and sideways.. The only time they finally decided to play the ball to him while facing Georgia, the defender made a very good block, because that strike was heading in.. But in general, if the team was playing for him to score, at every chance they would be looking to pass him the ball, then they would have seen all the runs he has been making, especially in their first group match. And when they did pass the ball in the box, they over hit it.. But those with an agenda will always twist the facts.. That's why people, you have to learn how to think for yourselves and don't depend on others, because they might just mislead you or brainwash you..

Where is ESPNs criticism for Messi refusing Dybala a spot on Argentinas team now that they clearly would benefit from having a similar style player on the bench to if nothing else afford him some rest throughout the tournament? Thatâs vanity on display right there, especially after all of the humility and patience Dybala has shown for Argentina, culminating in his willingness to step up in the final minutes to strike a critical penalty in the final against France. Now it seems he may never get a chance to warm the bench, let alone feature for Argentina again as Messiâs ego still allows no space for him on the team. I suggest he play for Italy who would surely feature him prominently in their national team!

Euros like World Cup is a silly tournament, both are "Everybody qualifies for the Finals" then at Finals "Everybody qualifies for Knockout Stage". The only games that matter are Quarter Final onwards where top countries finally engage.

EUROs and World Cup both have 10+ games of qualifier matches to determine who gets to play. Italy did not even qualify for last World Cup. Only 24 top teams get to participate in the EUROs every 4 years. But every American team gets to play the Copa, so you have got it wrong there buddy. Teams literally have to win 2 games to directly be eligible to play quarter-finals in Copa America.
