Gon Tach, There are a lot of insects and mushrooms around. If you don’t get this old trees out, they die anyway. If you have to much dead trees around, you get more insects which grow in there numbers and may will get strong enough to eat in great numbers at healthy trees. We also cut out healthy trees, yes. Because the younglings need light on the ground to grow, specially young oaks need more light than young fagus sylvatica (I don’t know the English word 😋) . So in forests we cut out what grows again, often we are blamed for destroying the forests and the hikingroads. But if you would really think about it. The forest we have, is build by our ancestors who used the forest which was build by their ancestors. And the hiking roads the people today use are originally made for using the forests. Not every road is everytime in use, because you normally cut out some trees in each area just once or twice in one decade, so the forest can grow on. So please before you get angry about anything, first think about, if you can’t find a reason go and ask someone, specifically the people working around. Thank you
@@rms5654 you also know that all was fine in the time we just lived with our own grown fur and we had to watch out for not to get eaten. For the cities, most of us live in ,are tenthousands of acres of forests taken down or Muir’s dright out without growing them again. Tenthousands of squaremiles of land were taken down to grow food for us and a lot of this food comes to trash because anyone buys too much food what is impossible to eat and so get dumbed anywhere. The life is a circle and all we take out, we also give back. Yes all grows by itself, so tell me please, what do you know of all the things between heaven and earth?
That’s fantastic. What kind of wood is it. I had some ash planked last year and I bought a new planer. Going to make an awesome piece of furniture with it.
Thus, the quality of the tree does not decrease. In this way, when we cut the tree, it does not explode, it does not pull pieces out of it, and its edges do not peel off. They don't just pay us to cut it, they also pay us to cut it properly, to protect the tree while cutting it...
The root spread needs to be cut down closer to trunk diameter for more predictable fall direction. Also, lumber workers don't want the larger diameter at the base... hard to work with.
I am, assuming you are to. Soren didn't cut this way. He would trim it first. We cut a bunch of veneer white oak a few times. He didn't like it if there we inexperienced guys in the group because he agreed that cutting veneer is a whole other skill besides open faces and hinges.
Get a grip. It is healthy to selective cut. Forests are much healthier. It’s not good to just let the forest overgrow. Trees are a crop like corn and beans. They get harvested, and replanted. Take a forrester class and learn before you freak out about something you know little about. 👍🇺🇸❤️
Actually most building codes will not allow us to reuse lumber, so take it up with the building code people, but anyway one resource that is totally renewable is wood, much more so than your stupid lithium batteries
Which brand of saw do you think is the best? I like working with STIHL, but it varies from model to model. Unfortunately, the old durable saws are no longer available...
@@fetiaismet89 I've cut down trees that big or bigger with an 18" bar on an Echo (Home Depot brand). The saw snobs all think I'm crazy, but my chains are sharper and cut better than theirs do. Ignore the haters.
We do not kill forests. We are renewing. It is raining here too much. The trees are sick and their roots are weakening. In order to regenerate the forest every so often the larger trees need to be thinned out to allow light to reach the saplings. I remember the UK had to cut millions of elm trees down due to disease.
I wish we could explain it... Unfortunately, it is very sad that when we say "Forester" people see us as environmental killers... The forest also needs care... Even though we say that the world also needs new lungs, we are poorly understood...Thank you.
Yeah. I also hate to see the part of the tree w most character being cut-up. For the base of that tree was interesting. But once the flares are all cut off it is like every other tree out there. Someone once bought a base from me to make interesting table tops.
@@fetiaismet89 thank you I found some wood like this and didn't know what kind it was I love the colors for wood turning and wanted to find more. You just helped me do that

That's right....I kept wondering when he was going to cut those saplings out of the way. In case he had to run
Yes, sometimes you have to run. You never know what the tree will do…
I don't think those 2 saplings would of stopped me if I and to run, but sometimes strange stuff happens lol.

Everyone has a different cutting style. But no matter how you cut it, you have to be very careful. Forestry is one of the extremely dangerous jobs.

No, it's an oak tree…
