With fuel flow issues, I would check the fuel filter fairly early on before replacing the fuel pump or checking compression, fuel pressure, etc.
Fuel filter on these is part of the pump, so you have to take out the whole pump assembly anyway
Great teaching video. Thank you for showing all the things you tried and all the details of how you did it. I'm curious, you considered a failed fuel pump but why you didn't look for line debris or fuel filter problems?

2014 camry. Le 2.5 Same code po1604. Only show in scan tool. , but engine light not on , car idle ok start ok, but slow accelerater. Expeical pass 50mph 154000 miles. , spark plug change. Air filter, changd . No po420 code came out, Is it. Front catalytic converter clogged?? Hard over 60mph. Shift very smooth. 1-6 gear . Any relay po1604 to catalytic converter . ? I even clean throtle body and. Mafs. Is good. When in high speed is good. Mafs 20-25g/s

I have this code but it does start. I change oil when I have to. I did get a message on my 2017 Camry screen to check my charging something. The message went away fast. Perhaps battery? After I check that I’m gonna move on to sensors.

My car starts and run fine. Only issue is it shakes if I have the a/c on at a stop. I have a 2019 Toyota Corolla Le and had this code pop up

@@WavyBandit I am curious, have you done any repairs on the vehicle? I was wanting to see if we can narrow down the issue. To me it's weird cause there are no lights on the dash. Car starts and drives fine, but just doesn't have the power that it used to. The only code that comes up on a scan is this p1604 which is strange.
@@andrewm5190 see that’s one of the codes that would pop up for me. I only changed my spark plugs and battery so far. My car starts and drive fine as well. It’s only gets shaking when stopped at a light for some time when the ac running. Next ima try my coils
@WavyBandit I know it's been a month but I believe I may have traced the issue with the poor engine performance. I feel like my issue is the VVT solenoid. I am going to change it and see if that helps me out. Just wanted to share that info.
Good evening Jason, am Rudy also do a little mechanic when I can. I have the same type of car 2013 toyota camry 2.5.
Am having a similar issue, but fuel pump is good,. It cranks and starts for one to two seconds and then dies. You can keep cranking but no start unless you turn kept back in off position. I checked the coils and injectors and they only pulse or spark for one second and goes away.

Could this also cause a misfire on one specific cylinder? I’ve been diaging this forever live scan shows a miss on #3 no codes but I do get the p1604 .

Hey bro, I have Hilux diesel 2021 with same issue. My truck stops in the middle of the road while running.. only shows error p1604.
We tow the trunk to few workshop but nobody know the exact problem.
It has happened 5 times now.

Hi Jabo, I had noticed your video on p1604 Code, I need some help and direction in solving this code that I am getting on my 2017 toyota camry le. I am getting poor gas mileage on my vehicle and I have no engine light on. Can you please help. Never replaced starter, fuel injectors or fuel pump. I would appreciate your help. Larry

The same thing happened to my 2016 lexus is200t. It throw a turbo sensor code but after fixing the turbo boost regulator, the code went away. The fuel pump is priming but still wont start. I tried the starter fluid spraying method and still wont start....
It was painful watching this.
Don't hate me, but if you want to make this a career and not look like a hack to pros, then go to school. Don't have to go to these specialty schools that cost thousands of $$$. Naa...you will get a much better education if you go to a junior college. You don't even need a high school diploma!
I will say tho the more you do the more you will learn. NOTHING like hands on, but need to learn the right fundamentals to get a good foundation, otherwise you will hack your way thru repairs and develop bad habits. CZcams is nice but will steer people in the wrong direction in a heartbeat.
Next time, get that pet chicken of yours to do the diagnosis. Will be much faster.
