I absolutely felt your pain at 14:39 :( (I cracked up laughing because I can relate), but ouch! That one hurt. ............ OK... so I just finished watching the entire video and I admire you. That was tough. I know when I miss a fish and then get hung up, I call it a day and just go home, but you're in the middle of a tournament and I know it takes a mental toll on you. I got my first championship tournament coming up next month. This is my first season of kayak tournament bass fishing and I never would have thought that I would have been able to qualify for the championship round.
The most perfect timing ever! I was watching day 2 and at the end when they are eating pizza championship Sunday pops up on my feed! Great Tuesday morning. Thank you!

I would agree that your hookset is hard that it sometimes costs you some fish. It not only can burst their mouth open but it is impossible to maintain that amount of pressure so slack will develop in the line. That being said, you are an amazing fisherman and one of my favorites to watch fish.

My uncle rarely ever misses fish and I had just started and I was swinging for the fences every bite and I’d miss a bunch. Lol I asked and he was like “ I’m trying to catch fish, not kill em” ever since then I’ve developed a urgent but deep hook set

You should have fished deeper. If the big ones arent biting close to shore, I'd say their off a little deeper.
