They probably never had any pets or clueless about what's going on around them.
Dogs have brains with the ability of associating sounds with abstract concepts, even somehow abstract out the sound asides from it's timbre which is absolutely incredible
I ask my dog if she wants to go outside and then my cat runs to the back door so she can get into the sunroom when I open the door.
From my experiences, dogs understand words better than most humans lol.
That's actually a pretty clever dog. Recognizing that it's strange for your voice to be there when you're not, and being able to follow a command as specific as "come up stairs." My dog eats his boogers and walks into walls. His name is Mr Miller and he's afraid of cardboard boxes for some reason. Really loyal and happy though, just not the sharpest scallion in the fridge.

My dog only does that to let me know I'm taking too long getting out of the house for our walk. I miss the days he would go to the store and pick out toys. Now his toys are just a tool to let me know he is frustrated and doesn't need me. The exasperated sighs and turning away from me drives his point home😪

He's a teen, but he still loves to steal the cats' toys and run outside. He seems to still believe that the only thing better than a dog toy, is a stolen cat toy.

Our puppy pretty wild right now so it has gotten to the point where me and my wife say to eachother “do you think hes ready…” and before we even finish the sentence he is walking into his crate willingly

I love it when dogs are able to entertain themselves and have fun all by themselves. It really bothers me when dogs are so attached to their owners that they freak out and wait at the window or door for their owner to come home the whole time they are gone. Makes me feel so bad for them. This video warmed my heart.

Like with children, it’s up to the owner of a puppy to raise it so it has self confidence and therefore can feel comfortable with it’s owner away. Alot of people don’t assume that responsibility, some actually revel in their dogs beeing so needy of them (up until they realize it’s a practical problem to themselves).
Some dogs instead feel burdeoned with responsibility of their owner, and ger crazy axious because the one their responsible to look out for 24/7 is suddenly out there alone. People commenting the dig understands English here really proves my point that people insist on being ignorant and ”amazed” at a dog understanding what’s spoken, so the can continue treating dogs like they lack the intelligence and complicated psyche they actually posess, ie like mere ”pets” for their amusement. It’s kind of sad, but it’s a choice.

@@gnarbeljo8980 yes people do tend to talk to their dogs a lot. Therefore they learn language, they learn what things are called so when being asked to come on up, that's not unusual for them to know what it means.
I always find it so interesting that dogs have expressions that match humans' expressions. When he's swinging the toy around, just lost in absolute glory of freedom then BOOM! His Mom's voice! The look on his face is hilarious.
