Holy cow. This is one of those videos that just blows me away, reminding me how much physical labor is required for almost every task. Amazing. Hope you reward yourself with good food and good sleep!!
Well hopefully within the week the roof will be waterproofed, overall the progress has been reasonably good but on the next Wing he wants to ensure it is carried out "before" next Winter so every dry day after waterproofing this Wings roof he should "concentrate" on doing the other Wings beams and floor to enable the Roof to be finished and waterproofed "before" Winter 2024 it will be a lot easier for Dan to avoid working outside in Winter on the roof, it will exact it's toll, the Central part looks like it's going to be a bit more of a slog, he could do with a stone mason/ brick layer when working on that section I think it will be pretty labour intensive and extensive on the fragile top section of the walls where the roof used to be, hopefully he can start on that section in Spring of 2025 but the waterproof roof work may take until 2026, I think there is still another 9 years (Including this one) to go - 2033 for a house party🎉, hopefully I will live to see it, the Chateau is turning more into a building site with each passing day and less of a forgotten ruin but there is a vast amount of work to go to turn it into a home, Dans age and determination is on his side however and his supporters!?!
Great job Dan! For now though, you should use waterproof basement paint on the floor to protect it, or something like that. Tarp will HOLD moisture! And construction adhesive on the beams before you lay the floor would keep them from moving and squeaking. AND make the floor even stronger. ( I rebuilt an old 1874 house and that's what I did).
