Distribution of Various Government Assistance in Mandaue City (Speech) 2/27/2023

    “Yan ang trabaho namin sa pamahalaan, na alamin kung sino ang nangangailangan ng tulong at kung papano namin tutulungan lahat ng sa aming palagay ay matutulungan ng pamahalaan,” said President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. as he distributed various government assistance to almost 3,000 beneficiaries in Mandaue City during his first visit to the Province of Cebu since winning the 2022 national elections.
    The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) provided PhP5,000 each and family food packs to 600 recipients under its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) Program.
    Meanwhile, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) awarded livelihood grants amounting to PhP3.65 million to three (3) cooperatives under its Integrated Livelihood Program, as well as livelihood assistance worth PhP4,350 each to 2,257 beneficiaries, totaling PhP9.8 million, under its Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD).
    As concurrent Secretary of Agriculture, President Marcos Jr. distributed certificates for seeds and machineries equipment amounting to PhP109 million to the Provincial Government of Cebu, apart from PhP1.08 million under its Corn Banner Program to farmers associations in the Province.
    Finally, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) turned over Livelihood and Financial Assistance worth PhP8,000 to 20 recipients.
    “The support and the affection that I received from you, I have to pay back and if it takes the rest of my life, I will happily spend the rest of my life paying it back to you,” remarked President Marcos Jr. who was visibly touched with the warm reception accorded to him by the people of Mandaue City during the event.
