Couldn’t agree more, this is one of my favorite live recordings of the Wailers. And the way Carlton Barrett plays this song, it is truly a masterpiece.
Tell me about it. I sometimes listen to this song just to hear the drumming. Carlton is my favorite drummer; it seems like he’s sending a message of healing and encouragement with his style of drumming; so much grove, so much vibe. This is drumming at its best
Bob had the whole Wailers musicians and the I threes on point live. 1977 at the Rainbow Theatre in Finsbury Park up the road from where i lived in Hackney. Wasn't old enough but always regret never hearing Bob live. Went from Hackney with my bruv in 82 i think it was would have been 13/14 to watch Black Uhuru with Sly n Robbie play live at Crystal Palace football ground. Black Uhuru them days were opening concerts for the biggest rock acts like the Rolling Stones.
Carlie and Aston had the "lock". Carlie could go anywhere on the kit, shift time, expand time, or just stay in the pocket and did, knowing Aston played that bass like building a structure. 💯 Solid.

I live by these songs. Crying and Bob is more than just music. This is a crazy energy that gets into you directly from space. These songs became the soundtrack to my life. Heavenly warmth in frozen Russia. Thanks !
As a Caribbean living in the concrete jungle of Canada trying to make it, this song became my warrior song. Before an interview , a business meeting , ect... I listen to it and everything always worked out well. Guess Bob was always by my side. Now leaving the life in Africa.
Bob Marley was my close companion during my early youth. Even though he died when I was a little boy, listening to his songs gave me the energy to feel never tired. He really inspired me. His revolutionary style was so inspiring for the african youth.
There is something about Bob Marley and the Wailers' reggae that is beyond words to capture. One good thing about this music, when it hits you feel no pain. Pure magic!

I've never ever heard anyone talk about Marley as a soul, only by his music (which has graced this vile earth). It seems after research his soul came into this embodiment with the veil open. He knew his task(s) would be beyond difficult but he came and did it anyway, as a Boddisatva.. You can see the burden he carried on his face yet when he smiled it was the world lit up. His soul also utilized one of the best forms to reach all living things: music.
bama77beans said beautifully, better than the best. Bob Nester Marley, no one like him never has been, never will be, of course JAH knows all, sees all, hears all & I believe Bob knew God did. Awesome, can't say enough great things, about a "Great man", as 1 of his sons called him once.

Jah Jah put the heathen's back against the wall...Marley's sincere and heartfelt prayer to Jah for protecting the freedom fighters.. What a tune!!! What a performance!!
This was different class I was there as a teen at the Rainbow rooms in London, what a night,a true legend..
I cant believe that in 2020 I'm only now seeing this edit of this performance of 'Heathen' live at the Rainbow! I've had this concert on VHS since the late 80s and that edit is the only one I've seen until today! Incredible to see different views of the musicians on stage. This is wicked!!!
I live by these songs. Crying and Bob is more than just music. This is a crazy energy that gets into you directly from space. These songs became the soundtrack to my life. Heavenly warmth in frozen Russia. Thanks !
Stay warm✌🏻😘
whats so crazy about it!?
ROBERT NESTA MARLEY,A TRUE LEDGEND
Stay blessed 😇🙏🏽
As a Caribbean living in the concrete jungle of Canada trying to make it, this song became my warrior song. Before an interview , a business meeting , ect... I listen to it and everything always worked out well. Guess Bob was always by my side. Now leaving the life in Africa.
Impossible to forget this art
Listened to Bob for 30 years now and still going!
The guitar player reminds me of my cousin. Pure natural and the man can play! Great Bob allowed Junior Marvin to shine for his talent!
I can't believe he was a man like some of us I haven't seen any musician like this man
I think this is the live video I have seen most, it really shows how cool Bob was live. Someone please invent a time machine!
I was able to witness this man in 1978, what a show ❤️💛💚

johnmarley❤😊
The first time I was young I heard it on the radio. I waited 3 hours until I heard it again .... from Algérie
Angels were involved in this track and the performance of everyone here was angelic...
You can say that again brother. Every time I watch this performance I feel like there was a spiritual encounter happening. What a performance
Bob Marley was my close companion during my early youth. Even though he died when I was a little boy, listening to his songs gave me the energy to feel never tired. He really inspired me. His revolutionary style was so inspiring for the african youth.
Bob Marley dance and move the world ..... in ONE LOVE !!
There is something about Bob Marley and the Wailers' reggae that is beyond words to capture. One good thing about this music, when it hits you feel no pain. Pure magic!
Music can hit you and you feel much pain . Fix up your argument and stop with the cherry picking of vocal lyrical lines to justify a nonsensical argument !
@@bobcosmic dude light one up , and give the bloke some slack,........ and get yourselves brutalised by music 😊🤟🏻😎

Bob Marley is a legend coz he stands for the truth and truth never changes...Most people are materialist and pretend to stand for truth but sooner or later they filter right out....

Me too
This was the Holly spirit at work though this very man may his soul continue to RIP with the Lord God Almighty
Bob Marley had some killer guitarists in his band, Junior Marvin making that guitar wail! Carlton Barret killing that one drop on the drums with his brother Aston Barret slaying the bass.
They can keep their Eric Clapton,we have Junior Marvin 👊
@@christophermuchiri8481 Al Anderson and Marvin are by far better performers..

this is music. pure melody. not the fake music we are listening to these days
Glad you noticed it. That means that you are musical. I was a kid, when this was produced. Not my generation music. Still, I still listen to this. Live at the Rainbow, Bob Marly and the Wailers, best concert of the seventies.
4 sure
I support you
Am here to give you this cool music just watch me move...
Absolutely
Better than the studio version unreal 🐐
The Heathen... This song has so much of feelings related to my youth. Freedom. Party. Feeling good. Bob Marley is the best. An icon. So sad I missed to be at the concert...
I will listen to Bob Marley as long as I have ears that can hear. Great music, and wonderful voice.
Word, sound and power! Big up all the singers and players of instrument

This is church. It's the invisible church..😉
Ce n'est pas un simple concert ou performance... C'est une expérience hautement spirituelle...🖤🖤🖤🎶
Great...so wonderful. Those 3 ladies also. Not to forget that guitarist Junior. Unforgettable indeed.
The lady in the middle is Rita Marley, his wife and mother of five of his sons.
Very wonderful performance. I wish bob still lives today. A true legend. Prophet Marley
