I’ve been remodeling a lot of the gyms in my save and something I noticed we are severely lacking is actual equipment. Where are the stationary bikes? Dumbbells? Ellipticals? All my gyms are just stuffed with treadmills and the weight lifting machine. I suppose you could add a pool but we genuinely don’t get much in terms of actual FITNESS equipment in this pack.
If you are on PC look into Cepzid's fitness pack. Really filled out my gyms with more than the terrible EA equipment. My biggest issue is the lack of small equipment and fitness mat exercises. The bad thing is they included a kettlebell as non-functional CLUTTER in one of the packs. Like why?

On the Converse/flat shoes: powerlifters use them in the gym when working on squats and deadlifts because it helps to stabilise the ankle. That said, there is no powerlifting in the Sims 4 Fitness Stuff. I would have expected Fitness Stuff to have been a collab with GymShark.

As a gym rat, I am still waiting for my squat rack and bench press... so our sims can actually workout and do squats, deadlift, and bench press, the trio the most important core exercices, that could justify the sims getting rip on every part of their bodies. The old multi usage machines are old now, and hopefully they dont bring those back in the sims 5, to be honest, that was funny when I was 10 years old, but it does not make any sense and its not fun anymore looking at them pretending to work out lol. To go a little more in depth for male exercises, I would love so much being able to log press, atlas stones lift, farmer carry, but I doubt they would give us strongmen stuff as they stuggle to give us normal day to day gym stuff.
honestly there's FAR better fitness CAS in both Spa Day and the Thrownback Fit kit than in Fitness Stuff, this was so off the mark. That being said, i do use te build items quite often and if i can, i try to reserve some space for the climbing wall in the gyms i build.
The Lets Get Fit mod pack from Cepzid is way more complete than EA's oficial one ...and its free lol. Also, Syboulette made a Crossfit set using Cepzids animations and its also free.

(i'm really sorry, i'm very new to mods and have no idea what i'm doing)
@@fast-topgun776 Scripted mods are the ones that come with a script file, it's used to change parameters of the game like the one you mentioned. Outdated mods can bring bugs so you need to check it. CC objects/clothes usually don't cause any problem in the game. There is a mod that check if your mods are updated or if exist conflict between them, it's called Better Exceptions by twistedmaxis.
party planner for luxury party / playable maid or cleaner for laundry day / nanny for toddler stuff etc… they did it with moschino and paranormal and it was great, chef hustle also was close to that idea
Kids in the gym actually isn't uncommon depending on the gym. Toddlers would have been weird. Though I do know a crossfit trainer who's toddler does light lift, I think that's pretty rare. 😂😂😂 I kinda love the climbing wall. One of my favorite things, but it's a miss it doesn't compliment the actual climbing in Snowy escape. I have a Sim who owns a gym but was only able to do it with a littlemssam mod. What sims really seems to miss is SMALL fitness equipment like dumbbells, kettlebells, and barbells. Also, there is a petsonal trainer rabbit hole career in game.
I don't understand why the personal trainer is a rabbit hole career when we have gyms in the game, it should be one of the active careers, and when you send your sims to go work out at the gym the personal trainers are actually there in the gym telling your sim stuff to get them motivated, so why it's not an active career is beyond me.
Couldn't agree more! This pack appears to have missed the mark on EVERY level. The only thing I sort of like is the hanging light but I'm not purchasing a pack for a light fixture... 🤦🏼♀️
I used to think this game pack gave u the ability to make a Gym like actually a functioning Gym service, if u want a functional Gym u need Snowy Scape, Spa Day and the Gym mod, and the Fitness Stuff pack,
I really wish EA would care more about the Sims 4 and have a MINIMUM gameplay/clothing/build feature. Like maybe make sure ever stuff pack has 1 job (even a rabbit hole) VS expansion packs could have 3 jobs with 1 or 2 active careers and 1 rabbit hole.) A set number of minimum gameplay objects (and/or atleast 1 new skill/trait in every Game pack that GENUINELY affects Sims and not just a buff.) Etc, etc. I feel as if they’d have a lot more balance between packs & it wouldn’t make me feel like only 3 packs out of the WHOLE game is worth it. They should want to make each expansion up to the same standard
There's actually a gym on the EA lot (I've been all through EAs buildings). Maybe the clothes were things people in Redwood City were wearing at the time? California fashion trends get kind of everywhere especially in places tech execs frequent. I can explain the converse, EA also has a basketball court so those shoes would be pretty common at the gym there.
So you're saying they based this pack on a miniature, self-sustaining society of tech execs and never leave this perfectly working ecosystem of glass and wires to get in touch with the rest of the world?
Converses are actually very popular in the gym! Flat shoes like converses and blazers are picked way over trainers for weight lifting and squats - not sure about the knowledge in this video about this topic but they are definitely trendy right now and maybe at that time too!
Anyone else remember, it was either 2 or 3, but when one sim at your home worked out from the TV, the other could choose to workout with you and multiple sims could watch the TV together and workout together. Why didn't they add that? As a fitness fanatic, I was excited for this pack when it was released and was so disappointed.
This could have come with so much more! Hockey outfits , football kits , tennis kit , tracksuit etc and with the fitness stuff it could have come with footballs/football pitch , hockeys/hockey pitch (any type of sports kit/pitch) , dumbbells , stationary bikes , normal bikes , rowing machine , a fitness routine that your sims do from a video on the tv (like we all did in lockdown) etc
I’m wondering if those clothes were in style at the time when they made the pack. They usually do research the clothing that they’re going to put into the pack. So sad you didn’t like the build items. That chandelier is one of my favorites. A part-time career/way to make money would have been nice. But I think that something that they started doing later on with the more recent packs.
The gym that I used to go to actually comes with a daycare service for Mommies and Daddies who needs to go to the gym but needs someone to look after their toddlers or kids. So, it is not unusual to expect some sort of toddler related stuff for this pack. But again, like you said, they really should do some research. I was so disappointed with this pack. I also expected more exercise equipment from this pack. Not just the same usual ones that you can get from base game. Just one rock climbing machine doesn't cut it.
I send my Sims kids to the gym, but then again I have the kids can do fitness mod, and it includes a kid sized pull down machine, and if you downsize the treadmill by one, it's the perfect size for child sims.
I am very passionate about fitness as a hobby, so many ideas as you said were unexplorend - variety of gym equipment - include other types of workouts in general - nutrition and fitness career(s) - owning your own gym - making fitness affect more stuff such as walking speed, life span, quality of life etc. - bring back the burglar - a fit sim should be able to beat em up like in the old games - accessories (dumbbells, towels, water bottles....) - maybe some protein powder, bars, preworkout etc. recipes or even just a vending machine - and so much more.... it is a shame, it really does show a lack of passion for the whole thing.
Pardon my lack of fashion knowledge on what the heck it's proper name would be... but yeah seriously the clothes are messed up, that one with the fuzzy looking weird arm jacket/sweater/whatever thing is totally not the kind of thing you'd wear in a gym. I imagine there is a name for that piece of clothing, but yeah, I'm not in the know with fashion. Really appreciate these videos because it reminds me more and more why I'm better of not buying more things from sims at this point when we've got possibly better life sims on the horizon. I try to remind myself if I do get Sims DLC that I make sure it's at least a 50% and up sale because otherwise it's just so much of a rip to the wallet for the content. Most of the time the price paid for sims content you could hop over on steam and find other games you'd enjoy more for longer and for sure better effort put into the games typically.

Haha, this I think was more ath-leisure, what you wear AFTER the workout to walk around town. Honestly, gym clothes isn't that hard...tshirts, shorts, sweatpants, a couple track suits maybe, done!
It is a shame that they have a bouldering wall but no climbing shoes. I had the same thought when I saw Sims climbing in the snowy escape pack: They had no gear at all (like a rope or a harness!), for someone who used to climb it is so weird to see, because if they fell down they'd be dead! The other problem about the bouldering wall is that the sims climbing up don't care about the colour of the grasps. I mean, if you have ever been to a bouldering gym you would know that different colours mean different routes and different levels of difficulty and it's absolutely stupid to mix the colours up.
Hey Satch. First of all “trainers” sounds like something a Dom might give their sub, for reasons, and not “shoes” 😂😂😂 we also call ‘em “tenney-shoes” or “tenna-shoes” aka “tennis shoes” with variations in pronunciations varying from state to state. Also, I have seen shoes like that in my gym, specifically on folks who are deadlifting or doing squats. There’s a reason for that, and if you’re a powerlifter, you know what that reason is. Secondly, I’ve seen clothes like that in my gym. Some of it is similar to stuff I wear. This is probably due to a difference in clothing preferences for Millennials vs Zoomers. It’s also a bit old-fashioned to think that there’s going to be far more men in a gym than women. Maybe it’s regional, but the percentage of men vs women at my gym isn’t that drastic. Couples come in, and parents will even bring their older children in with them to do some exercising. That’s said, even though I use the items in it a lot, the pack could have been so much better. They definitely dropped the ball. I’ll never understand why they didn’t include free weights or a full cable machine.
I think, the rating some what low. In my opinion, the pack is this weird 50/50 deal. Where 50% of pack is enjoyable. And other 50% of the pack. I could live without.
Am I the only one who thought that the logos on some of those CAS items looked like that of 🇫🇷 Carrefour? 😅 They have no stores in 🇫🇮 Finland but I still remember that kind of a logo after having lived in 🇪🇸 Spain.
I just NEVER use the CaS stuff from that pack. My score : 0/10 The didn't need to add more treadmill or press bench. They missed a golden occasion to introduce rowing machines, stationary bikes, actual bench-press, weight-lifting equipment, functional dumbbell, and many more gymnasium and fitness equipment. Modders have made a lot of those. How about adult usable monkey bars ? Those do exist IRL. 1.5/10 3/10 for game play... That's about right. My overall score 1.5/10.
honestly this pack is just another example of how the sims missed the mark with so many expansion packs!! on this, have a video suggestion; maybe you could list the things you think should have come with different sims packs? i always think you get it spot on with so many of these videos when you talk about things that should have come in each pack, so i'd love to hear more of what you think about that! 🫶
I agree. They could have literally just taken the code of some of gym equipment made by modders and did nothing themselves and it would be better. I do like the windows though. lol
the gym is kind of my "get away" if you will, so it would have been cool to see cross fit or bench presses and squat racks. and dumbbells are very common for people to use at home or in a gym. i understand they may not have been able to have public and private gyms or equipment that's specific to an area of the body. a lot of gyms also have classes available, tanning or massage chairs, and so much more. i never got this pack, but 100% would have if it included benches, racks, and dumbbells. side note: i do think the earbuds and home tv workout is cool, this would have worked well as a "home fitness stuff"
I think Nike or Adidas or Under Armour was a good idea to do a collab with one of this beand and could work so good with the bike class and the rock climing, tennis and also the cross fit area and all
Honestly, this is my favourite stuff pack 😅❤ I love everything in it - the CAS is awesome imo, build and buy is cool for gyms (base game gym equipment is ugly!!!) and in my opinion, climbing is a fun hobby for my sims! It's a rather small stuff pack, but I don't care, I love it
I love the pack for the most part...but prefer the fresh fits kit for actual gym clothes. I rarely use the CAS in the kit for actually going to the gym. It's more like ath-leisure, what a sporty girl would wear that's on brand AFTER a day at the gym.
I really love the top with the colour gradient crop top and the hoodie. I just never noticed I combine it with the spa day game pack clothes instead of the other fitness stuff pack 🤔
I go to the gym but, even before I did, I could have designed better items and clothing for this pack XD The best thing is probably the climbing wall and that's about it. Where is all of the different fitness equipment? Where are clothes people actually wear to the gym?
A better fitness system that players can monitor would have been welcomed. Sims can gain weight and put muscles on so making a system that players can chose to view and properly monitor would have been nice. Even letting me set a sims food preference to eat vegetables and not cakes, and finally removing lactose and vegetarian from personality traits. The introduction to a blender for smoothies, instead we get reskins and a wall climb that is so large it doesn't even fit in most standard build. lol
I wish there was fitness head gear and dumbells and maybe an exercise ball or something. We didn't need a whole gym set of equipment, but if there was build mode items for a gym environment. . . I couldnt care less about the rock wall, it could tie into the kiding amd climbing in snowy escape. Still refuse to buy this pack 😅

It's a shame that all the packs upon release are pretty static. I feel like down the line if they release updates and add-ons to existing packs overtime it would give more value to what we be paying for, kind of like Adobe regularly updating their app suite. It'd be great if for example Fitness Stuff gets you an update of a boulder/rockier kind of climbing wall upon the release of Snowy Escape, our as you mentioned an outdoor gym set to complement Seasons
Not sure why im watching this with the pack installed (for free, not elaborating), but i totally agree with everything you said. Except i kinda like some of the women’s tops 😅 i wouldnt wear most to the gym though, more of an outdoor sports look
If you go to the gym to lift weights you are better off if you wear converse or other flat shoes. You can also be in just socks actually. You just need ”sneakers” if you’re going to run och walk.
I remember I had the beta version or something of the base game. It was so empty, boring and difficult I thought that EA lost it. ThenI found out it was sort of demo/beta version. You could never advance at work and they will always watch tv. And so much more really 😅
I really don’t get why they make such huge objects, like the rock wall, the doll houses, the old way to make cupcakes in the cupcake machine, it’s like the one object that’s like the selling point of the pack is always huge that you can’t even fit in the house or the yard or even if you put it in your yard it just doesn’t look right, like the toddler/ kids outdoor play sets 🤦🏻♀️
Most of that stuff I didn't even know came with that pack. The only thing I use is the end tables and the layered female long sleeve tee shit thing. 😂 And then only when I'm using the styled looks.
Having gone to a military college - no, Converse aren't the best workout shoe. But do people wear them? Absolutely! Almost ALL the men at my college wore them to the gym. Some people care more about fashion, than the legitimacy of an athletic shoe.
I didn’t think that they were. When I had my Sims use the rock climbing machine their level went all the way up to level 10 and they were able to Climb the mountains as a result. But I can’t say that I’ve tested having my Sims climb the mountain and then use the rock climbing wall. If you don’t have snowy escape i don’t think you will see the skill show up. It’ll be hidden like the dart board and whatnot.
Would have been cool if you could own your own gym, and if you could talk to sims to convince them to buy memberships and then you could walk around the gym and assist sims who were working out, getting extra money that way.
The Fitness Stuff Pack was one of the most disappointing packs for me next to MWS they could’ve done so much more with it like adding more calisthenics equipment such as pull up and dip bars, a more fleshed out nutrition & personal trainer career and especially the gym clothes, gym fashion is a big industry definitely a missed opportunity I only bought it for the locs back then before I used CC

If on PC/Mac, there are mods for the missing equipment. I'm in the process of adding ellipticals and rowing machines to the gyms of my game.

If anyone thinks they want more fitness equipment, just get Spa Day, it has more equipment.
I send my Sims kids to the gym, but then again I have the kids can do fitness mod, and it includes a kid sized pull down machine, and if you downsize the treadmill by one, it's the perfect size for child sims.
Not one muscle/stringer vest in site , and where's the 'up the booty' influencer leggings 🤣🤣🤣
I am very passionate about fitness as a hobby, so many ideas as you said were unexplorend
- variety of gym equipment
- include other types of workouts in general
- nutrition and fitness career(s)
- owning your own gym
- making fitness affect more stuff such as walking speed, life span, quality of life etc.
- bring back the burglar - a fit sim should be able to beat em up like in the old games
- accessories (dumbbells, towels, water bottles....)
- maybe some protein powder, bars, preworkout etc. recipes or even just a vending machine
- and so much more....
it is a shame, it really does show a lack of passion for the whole thing.
I totally agree with you on this score. Spa Day is way better value.
Pardon my lack of fashion knowledge on what the heck it's proper name would be... but yeah seriously the clothes are messed up, that one with the fuzzy looking weird arm jacket/sweater/whatever thing is totally not the kind of thing you'd wear in a gym. I imagine there is a name for that piece of clothing, but yeah, I'm not in the know with fashion. Really appreciate these videos because it reminds me more and more why I'm better of not buying more things from sims at this point when we've got possibly better life sims on the horizon. I try to remind myself if I do get Sims DLC that I make sure it's at least a 50% and up sale because otherwise it's just so much of a rip to the wallet for the content. Most of the time the price paid for sims content you could hop over on steam and find other games you'd enjoy more for longer and for sure better effort put into the games typically.
Pretty sure that’s what you’d call a bolero jacket or a shrug, and you’re right, it’s definitely not typical gym wear. In fact they’re usually formal wear, lmao.
Haha, this I think was more ath-leisure, what you wear AFTER the workout to walk around town. Honestly, gym clothes isn't that hard...tshirts, shorts, sweatpants, a couple track suits maybe, done!

It is a shame that they have a bouldering wall but no climbing shoes. I had the same thought when I saw Sims climbing in the snowy escape pack: They had no gear at all (like a rope or a harness!), for someone who used to climb it is so weird to see, because if they fell down they'd be dead!
The other problem about the bouldering wall is that the sims climbing up don't care about the colour of the grasps. I mean, if you have ever been to a bouldering gym you would know that different colours mean different routes and different levels of difficulty and it's absolutely stupid to mix the colours up.
Hey Satch. First of all “trainers” sounds like something a Dom might give their sub, for reasons, and not “shoes” 😂😂😂 we also call ‘em “tenney-shoes” or “tenna-shoes” aka “tennis shoes” with variations in pronunciations varying from state to state.
Also, I have seen shoes like that in my gym, specifically on folks who are deadlifting or doing squats. There’s a reason for that, and if you’re a powerlifter, you know what that reason is.
Secondly, I’ve seen clothes like that in my gym. Some of it is similar to stuff I wear. This is probably due to a difference in clothing preferences for Millennials vs Zoomers. It’s also a bit old-fashioned to think that there’s going to be far more men in a gym than women. Maybe it’s regional, but the percentage of men vs women at my gym isn’t that drastic. Couples come in, and parents will even bring their older children in with them to do some exercising.
That’s said, even though I use the items in it a lot, the pack could have been so much better. They definitely dropped the ball. I’ll never understand why they didn’t include free weights or a full cable machine.

Am I the only one who thought that the logos on some of those CAS items looked like that of 🇫🇷 Carrefour? 😅 They have no stores in 🇫🇮 Finland but I still remember that kind of a logo after having lived in 🇪🇸 Spain.

I just NEVER use the CaS stuff from that pack. My score : 0/10
The didn't need to add more treadmill or press bench. They missed a golden occasion to introduce rowing machines, stationary bikes, actual bench-press, weight-lifting equipment, functional dumbbell, and many more gymnasium and fitness equipment. Modders have made a lot of those. How about adult usable monkey bars ? Those do exist IRL. 1.5/10
3/10 for game play... That's about right. My overall score 1.5/10.

honestly this pack is just another example of how the sims missed the mark with so many expansion packs!! on this, have a video suggestion; maybe you could list the things you think should have come with different sims packs? i always think you get it spot on with so many of these videos when you talk about things that should have come in each pack, so i'd love to hear more of what you think about that! 🫶

I agree. They could have literally just taken the code of some of gym equipment made by modders and did nothing themselves and it would be better. I do like the windows though. lol

the gym is kind of my "get away" if you will, so it would have been cool to see cross fit or bench presses and squat racks. and dumbbells are very common for people to use at home or in a gym. i understand they may not have been able to have public and private gyms or equipment that's specific to an area of the body. a lot of gyms also have classes available, tanning or massage chairs, and so much more. i never got this pack, but 100% would have if it included benches, racks, and dumbbells.
side note: i do think the earbuds and home tv workout is cool, this would have worked well as a "home fitness stuff"

I think Nike or Adidas or Under Armour was a good idea to do a collab with one of this beand and could work so good with the bike class and the rock climing, tennis and also the cross fit area and all
like even a quick google search of "athletic wear" was more than enough to get a basic idea of what people wear to the gym

Honestly, this is my favourite stuff pack 😅❤ I love everything in it - the CAS is awesome imo, build and buy is cool for gyms (base game gym equipment is ugly!!!) and in my opinion, climbing is a fun hobby for my sims!

I love the pack for the most part...but prefer the fresh fits kit for actual gym clothes. I rarely use the CAS in the kit for actually going to the gym. It's more like ath-leisure, what a sporty girl would wear that's on brand AFTER a day at the gym.

I go to the gym but, even before I did, I could have designed better items and clothing for this pack XD The best thing is probably the climbing wall and that's about it. Where is all of the different fitness equipment? Where are clothes people actually wear to the gym?

I think this is one of theses packs that is not even worth to pirate. The gameplay is really bland.
A better fitness system that players can monitor would have been welcomed. Sims can gain weight and put muscles on so making a system that players can chose to view and properly monitor would have been nice. Even letting me set a sims food preference to eat vegetables and not cakes, and finally removing lactose and vegetarian from personality traits. The introduction to a blender for smoothies, instead we get reskins and a wall climb that is so large it doesn't even fit in most standard build. lol
I wish there was fitness head gear and dumbells and maybe an exercise ball or something. We didn't need a whole gym set of equipment, but if there was build mode items for a gym environment. . . I couldnt care less about the rock wall, it could tie into the kiding amd climbing in snowy escape. Still refuse to buy this pack 😅

I like the pack because I love modern but yes, it lacks in the gym equipment environment. Can we blame EA for not knowing what the inside of gym looks like 😂
It's a shame that all the packs upon release are pretty static. I feel like down the line if they release updates and add-ons to existing packs overtime it would give more value to what we be paying for, kind of like Adobe regularly updating their app suite. It'd be great if for example Fitness Stuff gets you an update of a boulder/rockier kind of climbing wall upon the release of Snowy Escape, our as you mentioned an outdoor gym set to complement Seasons

Not sure why im watching this with the pack installed (for free, not elaborating), but i totally agree with everything you said. Except i kinda like some of the women’s tops 😅 i wouldnt wear most to the gym though, more of an outdoor sports look
If you go to the gym to lift weights you are better off if you wear converse or other flat shoes. You can also be in just socks actually. You just need ”sneakers” if you’re going to run och walk.
I remember I had the beta version or something of the base game. It was so empty, boring and difficult I thought that EA lost it. ThenI found out it was sort of demo/beta version. You could never advance at work and they will always watch tv. And so much more really 😅
I really don’t get why they make such huge objects, like the rock wall, the doll houses, the old way to make cupcakes in the cupcake machine, it’s like the one object that’s like the selling point of the pack is always huge that you can’t even fit in the house or the yard or even if you put it in your yard it just doesn’t look right, like the toddler/ kids outdoor play sets 🤦🏻♀️
Most of that stuff I didn't even know came with that pack. The only thing I use is the end tables and the layered female long sleeve tee shit thing. 😂 And then only when I'm using the styled looks.
Having gone to a military college - no, Converse aren't the best workout shoe. But do people wear them? Absolutely! Almost ALL the men at my college wore them to the gym. Some people care more about fashion, than the legitimacy of an athletic shoe.
The two Rock Climbing skills are different?! That's awful!
I didn’t think that they were. When I had my Sims use the rock climbing machine their level went all the way up to level 10 and they were able to Climb the mountains as a result.
But I can’t say that I’ve tested having my Sims climb the mountain and then use the rock climbing wall.
If you don’t have snowy escape i don’t think you will see the skill show up. It’ll be hidden like the dart board and whatnot.

Would have been cool if you could own your own gym, and if you could talk to sims to convince them to buy memberships and then you could walk around the gym and assist sims who were working out, getting extra money that way.

The Fitness Stuff Pack was one of the most disappointing packs for me next to MWS they could’ve done so much more with it like adding more calisthenics equipment such as pull up and dip bars, a more fleshed out nutrition & personal trainer career and especially the gym clothes, gym fashion is a big industry definitely a missed opportunity I only bought it for the locs back then before I used CC
