  • Using furniture pvc fittings and conduit I was able to glue together a light simple chicken tractor that should last. I have had this over a year and I like it. Its been through winter and summer. I did paint the fittings gray to match the conduit. Living in the country putting an extra fence or electric fence around the coop would be a good idea too. Hope this gives someone an idea building there chicken home.

Just an update the plastic mesh didn't last, the UV light destroyed it. I've switch to classic chicken wire.... PVC frame is just fine!

Thanks for this video, really helpful, great idea. I'm going to give it a try 😊 I might add pvc feeders on the sides too.

With the price of lumber skyrocketing pvc seems like a good choice!

4' t X 4' w that way I didn't have to cut the chicken wire. The top and the sides match the forefoot height/width of chicken wire. Approximately 9 ft long, I cut three foot sections of pipe for the lengths. I have switched mine to metal chicken wire as the plastic fencing did not last long in the sun.

I didn't say the cut list but there might be a pic in the video of the cut list. I know the picture I drew was color coded for the cuts

I like the pvc idea but the perch is too small in diameter & probably too slippery ( I use an 1" = bantams - 1½ to 1¾" = for you size chicken) to for your chickens, so they use the nest boxes. Since chickens poop mostly at night when perched they get your nesting boxes full of poop. If you use netting under the coop you'd have a cleaner area for them to roost, better aeration & in the winter you could put an old that's cheap underneath that would be easily removable for cleaning and still keep it aerated the little block off most of the cold.

My sleep outside on the perch I guess it is nicer because all the poop is outside

1.25 or 1.5. BTW I would not use the plastic netting it was horrible did not last I ended up fixing it with normal wire netting
