As an alum of the FSU Marching Chiefs (1993-1997), the title of this song is called Seminole Uprising. This song was FIRST played in 1996 and was written by Patrick Dunnigan, who was director of Marching Chiefs at the time. Dr. Patrick Dunnigan is now the Director of Bands at FSU and Dr. David Plack (Marching Chiefs alum) is the Director of Marching Chiefs.
Unless something has changed recently, Dunnigan is still the director of the Chiefs and Plack is co-director of the Chiefs and "Director of Athletic Bands" (he is in charge of the volleyball and basketball bands).
How would I search other songs like this from other schools? I tried fight songs but I got the standard big band old school songs, not these marching songs or whatever these are
As said in previous post's this is Seminole uprising not the warchant It would be cool to see this song used more during the football games than before the game starts perhaps during timeouts or between quarters 'cause this song is as intimidating as the warchant .
@BerryWeller. this IS NOT an intro or "new" intro the the Warchant its a song called Seminole Uprising. yes the warchant is in one of the parts but this has nothing to do with our Warchant

Thank you for your service. I was in school there at the time and at the games. I never realized that this song was so recently written.
awesome intro. This Cherokee became an FSU fan in 1975 and this is the best fight song going. The war chant is also amazing.
Yeah this is Seminole Uprising, I'm not even an FSU fan but the MC have been playing this for years........
FSU strong!!! Best band in the nation!!!! Let's go Noles!!!
Damn those tubas are cranking some sound at 1:27
I get so excited every time I hear this praying.
Man, this band sounds amazing! Great sound and great arrangement. Hats off from UCF Marching Knight of 2003
Nice video, but this isn't a new intro to the war chant. It's Seminole Uprising, we've been playing it for 20+ years.
True statement. Seminole Uprising is one of my favorites!
Yeah, this is definitely Seminole Uprising.

I'm a UGA fan but, shit, this is fucking awesome.

Yes very intimidating. They came to Houston a few years back and shook up the WHOLE stadium. I had goosebumps hearing Seminole Uprising.
That's Seminole uprising, not an intro for the fight song. 2 separate things.
