- For people with hardwater this maybe the best limescale cleaner i have ever seen in my life you have to try it to believe it.

Powdered citric acid (can get in the vegetable home canning section at Walmart) and white vinegar. Let sit for about an hour, and the limescale literally breaks apart. I couldn't believe how it broke the chunk loose out of the drain, it looked like a conk shell. Used a pumice stone ever so slightly on a couple tough spots. My toilet is like new after, 100% white. Extremely powerful, fast, and non-toxic.
I seriously need to use this stuff on my toilet. I'm in a rented property & it was bad when I moved in. Over 5 years it's just never shifted & it's just got worse. I'd die if the landlord ever came round lol. Thank you for this. Going to search for it now x
Got some brick n mortar cleaner from tool station and it worked wonders, would definitely advise this if you have really grimed up hard water stains.

Hey Karl, cheers for the video, just done this to our toilet, AMAZING ! .................first time left it for 10 mins and it got the thin stuff off with a bit of scrubbing. ......................Second time left it for 1 1/2 hours and it then come out super clean with some of the scale that broke off over 1 cm thick at the bottom ! yeh its quite incredible stuff isnt it, and i know its a harsh cleaner and a there a few commented on it going down the drains, but its a one off for very harsh scaling, and also where does it go when you clean your patio with it down the drain so really i dont see a big issue with using it once if your scaling is crazy thick

Wow! I have tried everything but your 'before' was where my loo was heading. The water here is very hard. I have bought no end of 'limescale remover' products with a quarter of this success. A few vlogs say use a pumice stone. They must be dealing with slight build up. It would take many hours/(days?) of scrubbing! And miss the hard to see/access places! I ordered the cleaner and some long sleeved gloves. Problem solved! Thank you very, very much.

In my opinion if the scale is really that bad, use a sharp blade such as a Stanley knife (box cutter for those in the US) and gently pick at the scale and it will come away. Then it's just a case of regular cleaning.
Harpic Power plus occasionally squirted around the bowl would have prevented that build up. And use Viakal on your taps and around the plug holes

you need to turn oiff the water to the toilet and any excess after flushing i just used a sponge to soak up the excess
Spirit of salts for the toilet. It's an acid so you can't get it on your skin. Lemon juice and bicarbonate of soda I use on taps kettle etc

I added bleaching powder, then hydrocloric acid , then caustic soda, then citric acid...
Snd scrubbed a lot..
The brown turned into light brownish grey.😢
I use a much more simple way, without chemicals etc. I empty the bowl of water then dry with paper-towel. Then go over the limescale stains with a fine sanding paper. This takes away the limescale quickly and effectively without scatching the toilet bowl.

That works if it is just a small amount of buildup
Will the acid eat and harm your pipes?
It just sits in the toilet bowl and then you wash it away with water by flushing. It not in contact with the pipes long enough to corrode the pipework. Just make sure you flush a few times after you do it

Bucket, gloves cheap sponge, soak all the water out of the bottom of the toilet with the sponge into the bucket. Bottom of Toilet bowl now dry Spray Bottom of toilet with a good amount Viakal leave for 20 minutes or so, scrub with toilet brush clean,flush Lime scale gone .
Might try it on my BBQ grill too 😜

Limescale is an alkali, so any acid will counter it 😉
