Employees know this. We also aren’t just assuming we know there isn’t any in the back, we’re constantly up there remembering which products are and aren’t. We also have scanners that litterally tell us how much of a product we have on hand.
A rain check is for a floor sale sign not a coupon. But if it expires that day it typically still works the day after expiration. We don’t check the back room bc all of our stock is on the shelves.
She wanted a rain check for the toothpaste she really, really likes. Since it wasn't in stock, they had to honor her coupon on the next day, even though it would've expired when the toothpaste would be back in stock. So the rain check wasn't for the coupon.
CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid do this, they happily do this it brings in more customers. Saying they don’t want you to do it is like saying they don’t want sales, that’s idiotic.
i mean this isnt some secret, if cvs didnt want you to know about rain-checks they would've just changed the policy to not have them, they do it because they believe its good for the business. also just politely ask for a rain check if they're out of stock, no need to get so rude with them
Yes, they still do rainchecks, but all extrabucks and cvs coupons will still scan and work at least 1 day past expiration, sometimes 2 days depending on the store.
I’ve had employees tel me this and I know cvs employees who know this and tel their customers. I’m confused why they wouldn’t want you to know this. I could of sworn I read this too on a thing they had going on when I walked into a cvs as well. Even as a child I’ve known this with their promotional stuff too.
i guarantee if u came into a store and was this rude over toothpaste, you would not be getting that toothpaste in a timely fashion. instead of just communicating you had a coupon abt to expire and getting a raincheck, now u have to stand to the side for about 20 min while an employee pretends to search and do so again the next day 🤭
I know this is a skit, but customer was being nice the entire time while cashier was being a biotch lol. All she said was "ok, i'll be back tomorrow!" and didn't get rude until she ripped the receipt out of her hand. 😂
I just was in Cvs $4 dq for the Axe, $5.99 b1 g50% off , chick trynna tell me , the dq won’t apply bc they were on sale, really? She couldn’t do it, cslled another manager. She tried to over talk, other shift manager , I had 2 $4 ecb’s she tried to say they were used, just got last night. I didn’t say anything , after a while, Then I put my finger to my mouth, to tell her be quiet. These 3 chicks sitting all on counter, 1 chick with distressed jeans with all those holes in them, knees cut out. I use to teach job readiness . I told my own son, 5 star restaurant, he was a hostess. Wanted to wear that. Living with me, he Had to change . Telling me other ethnicities are wearing that. He’s not other ethnicities. . They don’t know, I will b back in there Monday. I was on vacay 32 days, they’re all new, the reg shift & store manager , just came back& know me well, they or Corp will give me my $8. I have been Cvs Couponer 25 yrs
I had incident ( Atl) Persil $5.99 part of s$30 get $10, scissors on Persil $2. Had none . Asked for rain check, the cashier& shift wanted to write me a rain check for Persil $5.99 get $2 back, didn’t want to understand, the scissors meant it was coupon on paper. What paper? Omg. I asked for store manager. She said he’d be there after 3 pm next day. When I came , she says he was there in Am. I said something bout Chgo , she started saying, oh, she from Chgo. 2. Still didn’t know how to write rain check , lol. Weeks later, I say the manager. I told him. He says he would retrain her, that’s not how you write a rain check, lol. Couponer’s bff, couponing Cvs 25 yrs .
If you come into a cvs with that attitude I can tell you there’s a good chance the employee will be sick of your shit and refuse to service you or your rain check anymore, of course you can always ask for a manager who gives even less of a fuck, hates customers with even more of a burning passion, and is 10x more rude and dismissive than the cashier, from firsthand experience. Good luck!
If you as a customer show the employee attitude, they will not go out of their way to help you. Being nice goes a long…..way. This woman needs to check herself.

Alot of employees are lazy and hate their job and ive came in contact with tons in my 40 years or shopping
It's because they don't care. the kids that work there for minimum wage don't own the store, so it's not like they benefit from any of the sales.
These comments pass the vibe check.
This was unnecessarily confrontational

We do do rain checks but it's only on the items not on coupons
they hate when the customers know the company policy
Yes, they still do rainchecks, but all extrabucks and cvs coupons will still scan and work at least 1 day past expiration, sometimes 2 days depending on the store.
Do not ask like this, I didn't work at a big retail store but if you would ask me for a raincheck like this I would say no and tell you im the manager

Do you need to get a 'rain check' notes ...
This isn’t a secret
Lol
Very rude if that's how snarky she is with cashiers. I"ll pass on this content.
Are you nuts? She is role playing the scenario! Go to the hospital and get some meds weirdo!
Cashiers and other employees at stores are just lazy and don’t want to do their job
That's not on CVS that's on the thieves and i would not issue a rain check because that got stolen too
