    I'm 5 years in on being a daily reader but I was failing some days because I was depending on myself to not miss a day so about 6 months ago I cried out to God before I went to bed and I begged for help to desire His Word because I know my relationship with Him depends on it and I love The Lord but I just didn't have what it takes to be obedient enough to submit to The Bible daily and since then I've honest had new love and desire for not just reading the Bible but it's a whole new desire to love people and everything in life. I don't just read once a day, I have to read/ study 3 times a day praise God for answering that prayer. I honestly believe I have been "Born Again" because the desire I have to share The Gospel and disciple other Christians who are struggling. Praise God for loving us first and for giving us the only direction to His solid foundation through his Word. Jesus said Peter do you love me? Well feed my sheep!

      Listen to Pastor Dr Andrew Farley
      His ability to put scripture into context is amazing.
      Remember, Jesus’s load is light.
      Trust Him.
      Your salvation is based on believing who and what Jesus did for you and not what you do.
      All you need to do is believe.
      How many people are saved that couldn’t read the Bible.
      Just relax, His burden is light.
      Read when you can and don’t worry what God thinks if you miss a day.
      He loves you because you believe, not because of your behavior.
      The more you grow in relaxing with Jesus, the easier it is to love others.
      It’s hard to introduce Jesus Christ as Savior if you are worried about your salvation based on behavior.

      @@rahulshinde6210 Paul Washer means SPIRITUAL DEATH. I thought of this passage from the Bible when Jesus was being tempted from the devil: "Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.' ” (Matthew 4:4)
      We live on every word of God and not just food alone. We look to the Bible for His words along with the wisdom it holds to help guide us.
      I also thought about how Jesus asked for water from the Samaritan Woman at the well. She was surprised because Jesus was a Jew and she was a Samaritan. In Jesus’ day, the Jewish people of Galilee and Judea shunned the Samaritans, viewing them as a mixed race who practiced an impure, half-pagan religion. Anyways, Jesus said to her “If you knew the GIFT OF GOD and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and HE WOULD HAVE GIVEN YOU LIVING WATER" (John 4:10). She was confused because Jesus had nothing to draw water with, and she wondered where this "living water" could be found. Jesus then said "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but WHOEVER DRINKS THE WATER I GIVE THEM WILL NEVER THIRST, THE WATER I GIVE THEM WILL BECOME IN THEM A SPRING OF WATER WELLING UP TO ETERNAL LIFE." (John 4:14).
      Jesus refers to this "living water" as something He will give. This is not something a person could draw for themselves, even if they wanted to. This same "living water" will become a spring inside the person leading to eternal life and they will never thirst.
      In the Old Testament, God sent Mana (food) from the Heavens to help keep the Israelites alive in the wilderness (Exodus 16). In the New Testament, the Jews asked for this "bread from Heaven" that Jesus's Father has in order to prove Himself. Jesus proclaimed "I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty." (John 6:35)
      Summary: As long as we live in this world our bodies will hunger and thirst. You do not have to believe in God to understand that physiological need. However, WE NEED JESUS CHRIST, JUST AS WE NEED FOOD AND WATER, TO LIVE AFTER WE DIE. To receive Jesus Christ, you need to truly believe and accept Him. Although we need food and water to keep our bodies from dying, we need to seek after Jesus Christ to live eternally and pass into Heaven. Our belief in Jesus Christ along with His teachings from the Bible WILL SAVE US FROM SPIRITUAL DEATH!
      God bless!

    When I first started a regular discipline of daily devotional reading some 35 year ago. I looked at it as a chore. Today it is the first breath I take every morning and I cannot get through my day without first sitting at the feet of the Father through the reading of scripture. When I read scripture, God's word is a familiar friend. When I was young my grandmother would sit me on her lap and read stories. In those days, because of family problems, my grandmother's lap was the only place that I felt loved and secure. I get that same feeling now when I open my bible and read.

    Simply put, I will Die without his word. That is how and why I read or listen to the bible in place of listening to music or the radio. I watch You Tube sermons rather than watch a TV series. Not all the time but most of the time and all of the time with music and radio. It’s like smoking cigarettes. To quit I had to tell myself this is suicide, which it is. I then told myself without God I am nothing and will wither. So, the only way to know God is to listen to his word. 13 times now I have listed to the bible. and like Paul said, one time I listened to the book of Romans 35 times straight. That is how I know God. Every time I hear the word it is relevant to what I am currently doing in my life. He guides and protects me. God Bless.

    I am systematically reading through the Word every morning. I started at the beginning of January 2023 and every day I read a chapter out of 2 Old Testament books and 2 New Testament books. By the 1st of Feb,I've managed to complete 2/3 of Genesis, the whole of Ezra, the whole of Nehemiah and Esther and tomorrow I start on Job. In the New Testament I've completed Acts and Matthew and I started Mark a few days ago.
    I have to say that this has been a struggle in the beginning, but now I am actually enoying my reading and I am captivated to read what is going to happen the next day. It's like the Word has become alive to me and it reads almost like a cliffhanger on most days.
    Even though I've read through the Word a couple times to date, this time is different, and it has deepened my way of praying and improved my day to day life as well.
    Truly, Paul Washer is correct for saying we must read our Bible or die. I have been a believer for as long as I can remember, but now, since starting to really spend time in the Word, I can see how far I've drifted offshore and how close to drowning I've come in this world. A little leaven truly spoils the whole batch.

    I don't know exactly how I developed a deep hunger/need to read or hear scripture preached every day. I'm older and I suspect a confluence of difficult events (aka "life") punched me in the gut and completely got my attention for the first time in my Christian life.
    I'm very thankful for that hunger, that need, now. My life is a three-legged table w/o reading or hearing His word every day now. It's not because I'm a "good person" or better than anyone else. It's because I need His help and assurances. It's because I am fully a child of my Creator now and I know it. As I enter into the last part of my life, I can and could endure most anything so long as I have a copy of His word. We are so lucky to have the Bible. And it's free, as is His gift of salvation. The invoice has been paid by Him for all of us who seek and believe on Him.
    Seek, and you will find Him.

    I met Jesus when I was a soldier, and from then on I've loved His Word. But as a baby Christian, I had no knowledge of Scripture at all. None.
    So I went to the local Christian bookstore and bought a set of cassette tapes of the King James Bible narrated by Alexander Scourby. I played it in the barracks every day, and probably drove my fellow soldiers crazy, but I didn't care. I wanted to hear the Word of God, and I wasn't going to let anyone or anything stop me.
    In about half a year I'd heard every book of the Bible from beginning to end. In the years since, I've studied the Bible in more depth and ruminated on what the Bible says. Now I, who once knew nothing about the Bible, lead a Bible study in my church.
    I don't write this to brag, but rather to encourage everyone everywhere to study the Bible. There are many effective ways to do this. For me, the most effective way was to hear the Bible being read out loud --- it's a great way to proof read the text before diving more deeply in to it. There are many excellent web sites (including Bible Gateway which I use and recommend) where you can simply click on an icon and hear the entire Bible read to you.
    Blessings in the Lord.

      @@rahulshinde6210 great question! So I Love comparing new and old testimate to back up everything. So you die as your old self. You were never really alive in the first place. There are two types of people in the world.
      1. Those dead IN sin
      2. Those dead TO sin
      Our flesh wants to sin. So we are slaves to sin in a sense. In order to get out of this we MUST die and be reborn a new. With a new heart, new eyes and new ears.
      This is also referred to as "spiritual circumcision" to the HEART. (It's all about the HEART, GOD wants a relationship, he wants your heart).
      2 Corinthians 5:17
      ¹⁷Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new
      Ezekiel 36:26
      I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh
      Jeremiah 31:33
      ³³“This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,” declares the LORD. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people"
      So before we followed the Law and the "law" became an idol to us. We tried to be perfect and we did sacrifices. But if you notice as we went on in the old testimate we did progressively more and more sacrifices. God was trying to teach us that we needed a savior. A perfect sacrifice. One not of this world. That's why Jesus Christ had to die on the cross for us. But once we accept the truth, God does this crazy cool thing where we become a "New creature" no longer following the law because "we have to" but because it's our hearts desire to do so and to walk "with" God and Jesus Christ his Son and our Lord. Jesus Christ is our Jewish savior.
      Hosea 6:6
      For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings
      And a big one to show this is Isaiah 1:10-20; many people read this as "a place" but this is a "future" reference too, a spiritual Sodom if you commit sin.
      Isaiah 1:10-20
      10Hear the word of the Lord,
      you rulers of Sodom;
      listen to the instruction of our God,
      you people of Gomorrah!
      11“The multitude of your sacrifices-
      what are they to me?” says the Lord.
      “I have more than enough of burnt offerings,
      of rams and the fat of fattened animals;
      I have no pleasure
      in the blood of bulls and lambs and goats.
      12When you come to appear before me,
      who has asked this of you,
      this trampling of my courts?
      13Stop bringing meaningless offerings!
      Your incense is detestable to me.
      New Moons, Sabbaths and convocations-
      I cannot bear your worthless assemblies.
      14Your New Moon feasts and your appointed festivals
      I hate with all my being.
      They have become a burden to me;
      I am weary of bearing them.
      15When you spread out your hands in prayer,
      I hide my eyes from you;
      even when you offer many prayers,
      I am not listening.
      Your hands are full of blood!
      16Wash and make yourselves clean.
      Take your evil deeds out of my sight;
      stop doing wrong.
      17Learn to do right; seek justice.
      Defend the oppressed. a
      Take up the cause of the fatherless;
      plead the case of the widow.
      18“Come now, let us settle the matter,”
      says the Lord.
      “Though your sins are like scarlet,
      they shall be as white as snow;
      though they are red as crimson,
      they shall be like wool.
      19If you are willing and obedient,
      you will eat the good things of the land;
      20but if you resist and rebel,
      you will be devoured by the sword.”
      For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
      They did all of the celebrations and sacrifices...none of it mattered. They didn't walk "with" God. He desires this. It's NOT A RELIGION ITS A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD THE FATHER ALMIGHTY AND HIS SON JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.

      Anyone who reads the Bible and has a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior knows it's not by reading your Bible you are not saved. It's common sense. It's just that you thirst after His life, you want to know Him. He first loved us... He knows every hair on our heads, He created the whole world and everything in it. He loves us so much He gave up His life for us...
      Anyways the only salvation is that of Jesus Christ's, who lived, died, and rose again. Who left the gift of the Holy Spirit to abide in us. To have a personal relationship with.
      Jesus' words after the man came bragging, "I did this and that in Your name." Jesus said, "I don't know you." A personal relationship with Him alone. Paul Washer is a wonderful professor and I would be very careful of critical language towards him. He is a child of God. Be Careful. And God may guide you and bless you as well.
      Thanks for your advice.
      Paul Washer was simply saying. Wisdom and Knowledge comes from the Word and it is something a believer in faith just wants. It's just a natural feeling. Today we have learned much more about the truth and love of our Lord. Let's practice what Jesus said. One God and one God only. Love one another, like He loves. Have a great day.

      @@rahulshinde6210 To my understanding I believe he is not referring to “spiritual death” as in losing your salvation, as the Bible makes it very clear that once we are saved nothing can separate us from God. I think he’s communicating that since we have died to ourselves and now our “life is hid with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:3), if we don’t spend time in the Bible and in prayer, we don’t have that source of life, hope, joy, peace, etc.. Without fellowship with God we will become burdened with sorrow and temptation. Psalm 119 talks about this--verse 25 says, “My soul clings to the dust; give me life according to your word!” Verse 28 says, “My soul melts away for sorrow; strengthen me according to your word!” Verse 50 says, “This is my comfort in my affliction, that your promise gives me life.”

    I just learned this lesson once again in my life because God had to bring me to the end of my own ability to change this very thing in my life and that is that "I" cannot develop the ability to read the Bible more. That is right what Paul Washer said you must die and well even Paul needs to realize this because even he can't get the very things he says we need. The word is clear YOU CANNOT do anything to get what you need to serve the Lord. You cannot muster up enough strength and desire to read the word more and you can't even understand with your own carnal fleshly mind what the word actually says. If you don't do it in your own strength then what on earth are you gonna do?? Why don't you do what the word says and ask the Lord for that desire to read his word and to reveal the very understanding of his word too? Why are you trusting in your own ability to do what God has called you to do? Is he not big enough to where he can give those things you need to you so you can better know him and serve him? Either you are your own savior or the Lord God Almighty himself is your Savior it's very simple. He saves you from the predicament you are in and provides you with all that you need or you do it yourself. The only problem with self confidence is that God hates it and it will not achieve his plans. Peter had to learn that lesson the hard way and that is after he fell flat on his face denying the very one who purchased his salvation. He was adamant that he would never deny the Lord Jesus but Jesus knew he had to fall in order to understand this very thing I am telling you. Father God there are too many people who want to follow you and don't know how to that are trapped in the sin of self confidence. They have been lied to and frustrated by religion thinking they have to do everything when all along they should have been looking to you for everything. Some have given up on you because in defeat they gave up thinking that what you asked them to do was too hard and now they no longer serve you. Teach your people that struggle with this idea that they need to be confident in their own ability Lord that they need to be confident in your ability. If they don't have that belief that you are able then grant them repentance to change their mind and ask you for that belief to look to you for all they need. Then and only then will they realize that true salvation and true change only comes through your hand Father and not their own. In Jesus name I pray Amen.

      @@jacksonspeaks8200 Amen thanks for the kind words it is very true and sadly not many Christians know this because sadly in this day and age we live in apostasy and the truth is getting harder and harder to be found in the church. I am not saying there are some truths but there sadly isn't the whole truth in churches today. The church has been for too long just like the world and the world pushes this lie that "you can do whatever you put your mind to" and things just like that. Sorry scripture doesn't support that and that isn't how God truly works when you want to see him really move in all his power. If you want to see God really move you have to be willing to be in a place of being vulnerable and weak because he won't honor any effort on our part. It's a lesson I am learning more and more and well I am glad I am learning it knowing the times we are living in. God bless you Jackson and keep seeking and following him until the Lord comes to get us.

And I'm reminded that I'm in a war zone soldiers probably take really short naps and when they wake up they feel as if they are not there anymore. For that split second they feel like they are somewhere else. When I feel like this I command my soul to Praise the Lord many times I remember the Plasm 42, why are you cast down my soul. Jesus: REPENT.
      Lordship Salvationists: You must repent of your sins in order to be saved.
      Jesus: I didn’t say that. I was saying change your mind - change your way of thinking or belief. Stop adding “of your sins” to my statement.
      Repent: From a bible dictionary: There are 3 Greek words used in the NT to denote Repentance The verb METAMELOMAI is used of a change of mind, such as to produce regret or even remorse on account of sin. METANOEO meaning to change one's mind and purpose, as the result of after knowledge. METANOIA is used of true repentance, a change of mind and purpose and life, to which remission of sin is promised.
      Compare and contrast what was happening with the three on the cross. One could do nothing at all, completely undiscerning of his total depravity, lost in mockery and wickedness. Another could only do one thing, repent with acknowledgement that he could do nothing, only Jesus His Messiah could save him. And then there is Jesus, who could still do all things. He forgave, showed mercy, abided in the Father, gave grace, paid in full the price of redeeming man and creation, and even had the power to decide the exact moment to give up His life. We can do nothing more than the thief on the cross, God did it all, and does it all.
      Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
      Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
      If you trust in what Christ did for you on the cross for your sins by shedding His blood, dying and rising 3 days later you are saved. You need to get out of these Lordship Salvationist posts, they will have you constantly doubting your salvation. Look into Renee Roland and Gregg Jackson, these 2 are great teachers of grace here on YT. Lordship salvationists have a problem with grace. Grace is the unmerited love and favor of God.
      Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. (HE forgave all of your sins at the moment of belief.)
      Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
      25 Reasons why you’ll NEVER lose your salvation
      1. You’ve been given eternal life not temporal life. You’ll NEVER perish. You’re safe and secure in the hands of Jesus and the Father John 10:28-29.
      2. You’ve already been judged NOT GUILTY because of the cross. You’ve crossed over from death to life John 5:24. That’s good news!
      3. Jesus will lose NONE OF ALL those God has given him. He WILL raise them up at the last day John 6:39.
      4. You’ve been born again, not of perishable seed, but of IMPERISHABLE seed 1 Peter 1:23. It’s impossible to be unborn again when God’s seed remains in you.
      5. You’ve been UNITED (joined) with the Lord and are one with him in spirit 1 Corinthians 6:17. What God has joined together let no man separate.
      6. Even if you’re faithless to God He remains FAITHFUL to you. Great is His faithfulness not yours 2 Timothy 2:13.
      7. You should be convinced that NOTHING (not even sin) can separate you from the love of God in Christ Jesus Romans 8:38-39. Love never fails.
      8. Jesus is able to save COMPLETELY those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them Hebrews 7:25. You’re secure while Jesus intercedes for you.
      9. You’re kept by the POWER of God (not your will-power) until the coming salvation 1 Peter 1:5.
      10. You’ve been SEALED tight by the Holy Spirit until the day of your redemption Ephesians 4:30. A seal that cannot be broken.
      11. There’s NO condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus Romans 8:1. NO means NO.
      12. Since you’ve been JUSTIFIED by his blood, how much more shall you be saved from God’s wrath through him Romans 5:9. God’s promises are Yes and Amen in Christ.
      13. God will NEVER (under any circumstances) leave you nor forsake you Hebrews 13:5. NEVER means NEVER.
      14. God will NEVER blot out your name from the book of life because you’re an overcomer in Christ Revelation 3:5.
      15. God is ABLE to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy Jude 1:24. God is willing and able.
      16. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the GIFT of God- not by works, so that no one can boast Ephesians 2:8-9. Even the faith to believe is an irrevocable free gift.
      17. God has FORGIVEN your wickedness and will remember your sins NO MORE Hebrews 8:12. Your past, present and future sins have been forgiven and forgotten.
      18. A slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it FOREVER John 8:35. God will never lose any of His sons or daughters.
      19. For by one offering he hath PERFECTED FOREVER them that are sanctified Hebrews 10:14. Your perfection in Christ isn’t fleeting but forever.
      20. God’s gifts and his call are IRREVOCABLE Romans 11:29. God will never take back His free gift of salvation.
      21. You’ve been given an undying or incorruptible love for Jesus Ephesians 6:24. Even if your love for God grows cold it will never die.
      22. Being CONFIDENT that God began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus Philippians 1:6. You can be assured.
      23. God has set his seal of ownership on you and put his Spirit in your heart as a deposit, GUARANTEEING what is to come 2 Corinthians 1:22. God has given you a lifetime guarantee.
      24. Your born again spirit has become the righteousness of God in Christ 2 Corinthians 5:21. Not just positionally but literally.
      25. The Lord will rescue you from every evil attack and will bring you SAFELY to his heavenly kingdom 2 Timothy 4:18. You’re eternally safe and secure in Jesus.

It's almost as if I do fail I might as well enjoy myself... But I can't, I pray that you all get to be blessed. What's the point when my wife and friends and maybe even kids will probably end up in hell. Why should I be any different.... The only thing I can think of is choice.... Is because I choose to be saved...

      “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬
      We all still struggle with sin, we will still sin in our bodies until we get our new spiritual bodies, Jesus Christ died to pay the price for ALL sins. If you repent of your sins, Jesus will forgive you. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
      ‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬ Jesus knows our struggle with sin and that’s why He came to fix the problem so we could be forgiven.
      There is grace for you, God will help you put away your sinful nature we are all going through a process of sanctification as we get to know Jesus more as He is working in our lives. Don’t let the enemy make you feel guilty or worthless it’s a trap, it’s what he tries to do. Here’s some scripture to read on how God views you as His child. “But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation-”
      ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1:22‬ ‭NIV‬‬
      “In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.”
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:11‬ ‭NIV‬‬
      “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:1-2‬ ‭NIV‬‬
      “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”
      ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭NIV‬‬
      “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”
      ‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:18‬ ‭NIV‬‬
      Hope that helps! Love you ❤

    Listen to the Word of God being read, there are several choices of readers and versions of the Bible. My favorite is the KJV read by Alexander Scourby. It is on CZcams or the recording can be purchased.
    "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God." Romans 10:17. Of course, still read, but you can listen when driving or doing chores.

    2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Workman - a toiler, figuratively a teacher : a laborer, worker, deed, doing, work.

    Trough the bible we can get knowledge that is needed but also don't forget that the book will not save us, our faith, strenght, love.. is built trough trials, we know God trough obedience, trough faith, read the bible every day but also keep in mind that prayer, obedience, faith are more important

      @@hardushelm6268 i didn't write that the bible is non important but there are bigger things to focus on, we should read each day but it won't suddenly fix all problems, we must pray, trust, be obedient
