My USB was corrupted with all my 3D models and code files. This was all built up in a span of 4 years. The USB was my only hope after my laptop broke down. I tried using the commands like you did in the video, this made it accessible but deleted most of my data. Later in the video I saw the Wondershare method and I was doomed in my head because I had missed a big chance of getting my data back.
An absolute gentleman. Would not have gotten my issue sorted without you.
I followed each step on two different laptops but it was working for me.
The Wondershare Recovery worked though... Kind of. I installed it, had it scan for my drive and that fixed it. I didn't even need to buy the product to recover the data.
Once Wondershare scanned it, the USB Drive was back appearing in my Windows Explorer. I backed the hell up out of it immediately to my external drive. Spent the last 20/30 minutes barely moving incase it stopped working.
Backed up now and that stick is being chucked in the bin. Whether or not it's been fixed or not... The Cursed thing has caused me too much grief to even look at it anymore.
It's disloyalty cannot go unpunished.

I have data on my USB Drive. It has always worked but for some reason, when I plug it in windows 10 does not detect the drive. Actually if you watch carefully, it shows up for a split second then disappears. Windows states it cannot detect drive in D: All other usb drive work fine. Just this one has problems. Help?

I know this is a little old but I need to fix a USB drive that I have been using Etcher to make boot disks for Linux distros. Can this be done or is the USB just trash now?

Thank you so much! The usb drive was unreachable and completely froze the file browser. Reinstalling the driver fixed the issue and all the files remained intact.
This video saved my butt. I had 25GB of PS4 Screenshots and Videos on the same Stick with Windows 98 Retrogames. Stick got corrupted on the Windows98 machine, maybe, because i just pulled it off in the middle of booting. Could not access all my PS4 savegames and screenshots anymore on Windiws 10. THANK YOU!!! I had a 512g Sandisk that had locked me out (with 234 files I needed!!) and stated that I needed to 'Format Disk' before I did anything. We know that would have erased everything. Then I found you after a little search. Suddenly, there were my files back (after using the CMD option) and operating as they should. I was sweating at the possible loss of all and needed a gin. The chkdsk command completely ruined my drive. Now it is not detected at all an does not show up anywhere. the computer makes no sound when I connect it and it doesn't even show up in disk management. Any ideas?
My USB crashes all windows when I put it in, I was transfer a video when my laptop crashed and now the flash drive just freezes with my videos still on there. But the files that are in it still pop up before crashing

i have a new pen drive… put some MP4 vids on it. played great on the blu ray, but when i tried to play it on the TV it said the file is corrupted…

I honestly don't know Ive done all of those steps but its just not there as if there never was a USB drive, It makes a connection sound but there's nothing. I do see a little brown scratch on it tho

Access Denied as you do not have sufficient privileges or
the disk may be locked by another process.
You have to invoke this utility running in elevated mode
and make sure the disk is unlocked.
actualy iwas repairing the usb drive and the pc got stuck so i forcefuly end the process from the task manager and then i am nor able to format the disk neighter able to copy and paste data. im stuck please help. [The data in the usb is not important but the usb is necessary].

Open then settings then transfer then recover already recovered or recover newly recover..

Got a 16tb hard drive for my pixel android. But it keeps saying I need to format the USB. I keep formatting it but it always says I need to reformat it. Is there a windows utility equivalent for Android on the playstore?

I have three flash drives and they all have similar files and folders that, a few months ago, worked fine. Certain files will upload to the computer, but others just put the computer into "not responding". I don't think any of the suggestions here will help this. I believe this might be on the computer's end.
With Solution 2 will it recover the data that is already on that particular USB?
Or would I need to follow Solution 4 in order to recover the data?

Thank you for your question. If it repairs the drive then all the data should still be on the USB if it can not repair the issues then you can use Recoverit to retreive the data.
What if the usb drive is not even showing up?
I was formatting my usb to install ChromeOS image, and I made the mistake of choosing "delete all date, this will take longer". While the format was about 5% done, the usb drive just disappeared from existance! from the virtual world that is.

No USB port on either of my computers will recognize the thumb (flash) drive when I plug it in. There is no visual damage to the drive and the drive has worked successfully for many weeks. I have some critical data on the drive that I'm eager to recover. When I plug the unit into any USB port, I get the audible "ding" and the light on the end of the drive flashes. I've tried wiggling it about and no success - that is, when it's plugged in, I open File Explorer (I have Windows 10) and the thumb drive (normally F:) is not listed. Any ideas gratefully accepted.

You can also try updating or reinstalling USB drivers on your computer, as outdated or corrupted drivers can cause issues with USB devices. If the USB drive is still not recognized on another computer, it may be damaged or corrupted. In that case, you can try using Recoverit to recover the data on the device. Hi there, thank you for your question! If you tried all the steps in the video, then I would recommend trying data recovery software such as Recoverit but I can't guarantee you will be able to retrieve your files but if they're important to you its worth trying.

Mine was fine worked still comes up has plenty of room but i try to save something too it sometimes it save sometimes it doesnt despite the computer saying it has and i try to run a program from it sometimes it says it is not a valuid file sometimes it does not work and after it said something about a file that said it was a virus even though it isnt is that reparable.
