Wiktoria Miaso has the best style. I love the way she swings her arms just before taking off 33:30

Belles athlètes, compétition sympathique, bonne ambiance. La caméra filme parfaitement les sauts, idéalement placée.

Kulichenko’s entry into her take-off mechanism (lever alignment and grouping of muscles) enabled pronounced vertical lift at 1.89 meters. The foundation of high jumps is made on the ground!

Some inaccuracies by the narrator. Pulkannen, and others cleared with only heels or ankles slightly mistimed, NOT hip grazing

Written of inaccurate narrator early in the video. Pulkannen only grazed hip @ 1.89.

Woo Sanghyeok just did it today at the National Olympics 2023, Mokpo, Korea. In fact, there were no serious contenders out there. After winning the gold medal easily, he wanted 2.32m for the meeting record and he flew over the bar at his second trial. For your information, his personal best is 2.35m at Tokyo Olympics when he ranked 4th. In 2022 at Eugene World Championship, he ranked 2nd after Barshim and won the crown at the Diamond League Final at Eugene this year. But I have totally agreed with you until I witnessed the counterexample today.

These are females, and moot comparison with males inserted is irrelevant and unwarranted as comment.

Mahuchikh is still qualified for U23 high jump, but I guess she is not interested in it at all.

In 2017 Airine Palsyte during the European Athletics indoor meeting in Belgrade, after she got the gold medal. she tried her personal best at 2.01 and she got it at the second attemp. So sometimes it happens!!🤩

Where are the Ukrainian jumpers? At least 2 of whom are under 23.

Yarosalava Mahuchikh does not compete in the U23 championships even though she is under 23.
The record for this championship is held by Mahuchikh( 2.00m in 2021).

Once she cleared 1.91, the competition was OVER. Dosi can not win once she cleared 1.91 on her second attempt. You should know these things as a narrator. Even if Dosi cleared 1.91 at that point, the best she could get was second.

    • @portalsports
      @portalsports  Před 4 měsíci

In pole vault, the competition does not end with an athlete clearing a particular height.
If Dosi had cleared 1.91m on her third attempt, she could've still won the competition if she had cleared the next height of 1.94m, which Kulichenko failed to clear.
The number of attempts taken becomes the deciding factor only when they finish the competition clearing the same height.
Eventually, the competition is won by the athlete who clears the higher height.
If Dosi had cleared 1.91m ( does not matter which attempt), she would've qualified for the next round where she could've beaten kulichenko to win Gold.
Hope this makes things clearer. 👍
