Laapataa Ladies: Kiran Rao Reveals Aamir Khan Auditioned For Ravi Kishan's Role

- Filmmaker Kiran Rao, who is set to come out with her new directorial 'Laapataa Ladies', revealed how Aamir Khan was keen on enacting the role essayed by Ravi Kishan and had even auditioned for it.
Kiran Rao said, “Aamir loved the character, he auditioned as well. But I felt that since he is a star there will be expectations for the character. Aamir was bringing a star baggage. So, we wanted someone so fit in the role that you cannot make out what happens he does next. Ravi Kishan is amazing, I felt that there cannot be a better 'Manohar' than him.”

Misleading thumbnail. This role is tailor made for Ravi because you need someone in that role who is unpredictable. If Aamir had to do this, it’s easy to predict how the end scene going to be.

Every dialogue of Manohar was so crafitly balanced that it carried more weightage. Ravi Kishan nailed it.

सगळेच best sequel अजून छान प्रबोधन पर होईल मुलगी शिकून येते गाव वाल्यांचे प्रबोधन करून स्त्रिया पण बदलतील पुढारतील मोठा मुलगा पण जवळपास येईल एकूण गाव सुधारेल आर्थिक गणित पण सुधारेल शिक्षण पण सुधारेल बरेच काही होईल

So? What’s wrong in being a divorced woman? If two people do not get along they should separate than live the rest of their lives in a toxic marriage like your parents. Just because regressive chhapris like you find divorce a taboo, does not mean the man or the woman are doing anything morally wrong. People have full agency to live the way they want as long as its within the laws of the land.

Amir is ordinary actor apart from two films, Sarfarosh & Dil chahta hai. Ravi is far better, can play any character like Amreshpuri did or Anipam Kher Paresh Rawal etc
Dismissing Aamir so easily. Ravi Kishan was perfect for the role of Manohar, as he is from the region -- but Aamir deserves more respect. Watch him in Rangeela and Ghulam -- carries off two different types of taporis. Or in Secret Superstar( 2017) where he plays that wickedly funny badmaash music director Shakti Kumar. The fat retired wrestler father in Dangal -- none could have done better.

Why Parda system criticised as Hindu culture when Parda/burkha system is predominant on Muslim culture.
But there is a moment where they show a woman in a burqa n showcase that the same criticism applies.
They showed that in the movie. And about Muslim culture, if you wear loose clothes and cover your head that's enough. What people do is either because they take that as a norm or because they feel so connected to Almighty that it comes natural to them.
Lot of people are enjoying the movie saying that it doesn't target any culture or group. Honestly, you don't feel that at all in the movie so I suggest you drop that line of thinking and just enjoy the movie
