We got married during the Coronavirus lockdown in San Francisco at our dream venue, outdoor at the Legion of Honor, Fine Arts Museum. We followed local guidelines and all guests (less than 16 people) wore masks. We live streamed the wedding via Facebook Live for hundreds of family and friends to watch and attend our wedding virtually. We incorporated our cultures, Indian, Chinese, and American, into our ceremony. We hope our loved ones near and far were able to feel our love and witness our union.
It was truly a difficult wedding to plan given all the restrictions but when the day came, we simply wanted everyone who's attending online and in-person to enjoy themselves and be a part of our lives. Indian style wedding will take place once the covid restrictions lift!

I love Chinese and Korean dramas..and what i liked most that in eastern countries..may be because of Buddhism..social cultural religious and traditional values are almost same as in India...as there are 500 million of them living there..or similar ancient roots...
Same! Niki and I learned so much from each other and found more similarities in our values than differences. I love how family oriented Indian cultures are. Also the respect and love for others is so wonderful, so happy to call his family my family.

Niki met my parents after three months of dating when we both felt this relationship going somewhere (we’ve been together for almost four years at the time of writing this). Niki told his mom about me after the first month of dating. Initially both our parents were understanding but did not have any expectations.
After a year of dating, his parents came to San Francisco to meet my parents and I. I made a lot of effort to ensure his family had a wonderful stay and took the time to get to know his parents and brother. It took time (about 2 years and 2 trips to India) for his parents to not only accept, but fully know me as a person. They see and know me beyond my ethnicity or nationality. Although it took time, our parents witnessed our love and commitment.
As for visiting India, yes! I’ve been a total of 3 times. First time was just in Chennai to spend time with his family. During my second and third trip, we went to many places like Bangalore, Mumbai, and different cities in Gujarat. I can’t wait to visit again as India is so beautiful and diverse.
