God I want to you tackle dogs and maybe mounts. Different breeds and types, more uses for animals and pets are just cool.

I picked this up on DM's Guild and enjoyed it! Not sure if I'll ever get to use these rules, but it got me thinking :)

Thank you! I know the rules can get quite involved, but I hope you find something to pull away from them!

Very cool system. What do you think of mounts, more specifically Wyverns or other flying creatures. for say a 13lvl character? Do you think they are OP? Would love to know what you think. Great channel!

Sorry for the late reply! First, thanks! Regarding flying mounts, don't think they're OP - just a matter of whether the DM is willing to open up that avenue of possibility. It definitely greatly expands player options and I think could be very cool!

Thanks, first time DMing and I had a freind with more experience than me in one of my campaigns and he wanted to implement his pets from other games. Problem was that they were included but were not limited to: Xorn, Aboleth, Red dragon, The spider thing and Otyguh. It was frustrating for me that he insisted on his character having these. Especially when it would ruin the balance of my campaign and greatly affect the level of other players if he had his boss fight level pets running around with every encounter. So I thought... what if I did a pokemon like system and gave him a device that would allow him to summon ONE pet but he'd have to fulfill certain conditions or maybe even wait until a specific time. I do like how you brought up how you would need to train the pet for it to take complex orders. I think at for the beginning I will have the pet only be able to sometimes attack but on my terms as the dm. So that other players can enjoy themselves. Thanks again👍

Pets are *so* hard to do in D&D. Especially if a player wants multiple. I've been tinkering with a Summoner class on and off for some time because of it. I'm glad that these rules help, though! They should definitely ensure that character earns the progress with any pet they have.
