I love the Devil Trigger forms in this game. Definitely the best looking Devil forms out of all the games. DMC3 held that title until now, but it's finally been trumped.

3 Was the only game that had DTs which changed depending on the devil arm you were using, and it made changing on the fly even more fun. They're miles better than 1 and 2, and I just didn't enjoy the aesthetic of 4's devil trigger for Dante. But the SDT for Dante in 5? Now that looks incredible. Vergil's DT has a similar design but with blue as it always has been, and they really look inhuman.

Shit, I forgot that 1 had changing DTs. It's been too long. Also I just think 2 and 4's DTs look too human, they're called "Devil" Triggers after all. 5 has the same DT from 4 too, but I don't use it. Why would you when you can turn into a badass Majin form and nuke everything with The Luce?

I think the scene where Nero interrupts Dante and Nero is tonally consistent with the themes of demon-human duality. Men like Mundus and Vergil are driven by this overwhelming desire to gain more power and to dominate those below him, and sure enough their demonic power allows them a great deal of headway in achieving that goal. What made Sparda, and by proxy Dante, so much more powerful is that their desire for power was driven by a strong sense of justice. Sparda learned what it meant to love, and that drove him to protect those he loved and it was only because he awoke to that sense of justice that he became as powerful as he was. This was something Vergil lacked, and it was why Dante won their duel(s).
Dante fully realizes how important those human qualities are, and he's right to criticize Vergil for abandoning them. Plus, even if Vergil could achieve all the power he ever wanted, he would lose his capacity to love others and to experience joy -- human sentiments that he wanted from Dante and Eva deep down inside. However, while Dante loves Vergil and would prefer not having to fight him, the hatred that drives him to fight Vergil has tainted the human qualities in his own heart. I think the reason why Nero was so much more powerful than either of them is because of his humanity. In that one moment love for Dante and Vergil mattered more to him than anything else, and that sense of justice allowed him to operate from a purity of spirit that Dante and Vergil lacked. A blade driven towards justice cuts deeper than a sword driven towards malice.
If Sparda was there, he'd commend Nero for understanding the lesson he tried to impart on his sons but were too dense to understand.

i feel like this game is going to be the template for the future dmc games from now on. the choice of three characters. except instead of V it'll be Virgil. it's a cert that dante and Virgil will break out of the underworld and with virgil softening up after the realisation that he's a father. i think this game will be the bridge moving him from antagonist to a protagonist of future games.
I doubt Vergil will soften up to that extent.
if anything he'll continue to lean more into the anti-hero territory.
have no reason to harm humans unless they get in his way, or save humans unless it's just by coincidence or they have use to him.

If they do a DMC6 that is. I dont think the director is keen on doing a DMC6 after this one but money determines everything. If the sale are good they do it I think. But the secret ending with Trish and Lady indicates that a DLC is on the way. Looking forward to it.
@@nightmare171 yeah your right this is the Hideaki Itsuno last dmc, he's done an amazing job with 3, 4 and 5.. but i wouldn't worry it's highly likely that capcom will replace him. dmc has had a few different directors through the years. so dmc changing directors isn't unusual. i actually think even if the game was a total flop there would be 6th game because dmc and resident evil are currently capcoms biggest titles.. yeah i agree dlc is on the way and if not there will be a special edition with virgil.
