Add pickle juice to the sammich sauce, just a teaspoon at a time until you get the right consistency.
1:26 I'm gonna start calling my friends who are not vegan but down to eat at vegan places with me "vegan ally" lol
Everybody PLEASE ask Panda Express to keep beyond chicken on their menu! You can make a comment on the link on your receipt .
Love, a person going to the US in winter
My thing with Panda Express… I grew up in nowhere southern GA. The local asian restaurant has vegetarian chicken, duck, and beef. It’s had that since it opened in 2006ish. The chicken and duck are vegan too! I’ve asked. A lot of smaller and local Asian restaurants have mock meat that is far beyond what ‘beyond’ has done. I’m glad it’s an option. But do not be afraid to peruse your local hole in the wall Asian restaurants veggie section :) ask if it’s got egg or milk if you’re vegan 🌱
Edit: if you’re wondering how this is.. It’s just been a thing longer for that cuisine. Check out ‘May Wah’ Thats one vendor and I know there are more- as the one I grew up near uses something different)
yes this omg! so many menu items in small and local asian restaurants do meals that just have vegetable products in or meals with bean curd/soy bean curd/tofu recipes
Do not order the beyond chicken online! Make sure you see it in person - My family ordered regular orange chicken and I ordered the beyond version in an online order. All of our chicken looked the same which was suspicious, but I thought maybe it was just a good dupe. Now looking at Emily’s I realize mine was actual chicken…not the beyond chicken
omg that happened to me but I went through drive thru!
oh noooo im so sorry 😖
The beyond definitely looks different. I ordered mine online and it was fine, just know what to look for.
Happened to me for the vegan pepperoni from dominos, i still gag thinking about it
Omg that’s literally always my fear. When i order like a tea w plant milk i’m always like 👀 staring at the barista to make sure it’s the vegan milk. Tbh this is why i hate ordering at American nonvegan places. Just so relaxing to order at a vegan restaurant, or an Indian restaurant, Middle Eastern restaurant, or a sushi place. Bc i know it’s gonna be vegan and I don’t have to worry abt that happening.
When i ordered an impossible burger at like a jo shmo American restaurant i was so paranoid lol. I usually make a meat eater i am having dinner w take a bite/drink of my food bc usually they can tell if the order was messed up.
I definitely think you should pre mix your mayo concoctions in a bowl then pour it in the squeeze bottle with a funnel❤
the "friendship ended with Amy's" meme has me lol'ing, love your vids!
Heck yeah!! You are legit my fave youtuber, I'm always so glad to see a new upload
loveeeee your videos!!! been a fan for so long now and it makes me so happy to see you post :) also your voiceover is always so relaxing, it feels like i’m facetiming a friend and she’s telling me everything detail of her like lollll
such a relaxing video love how you always keep it 💯
Such a heartwarming video. Thank you for your lovely contribution to a platform which is often so toxic. Much love ❤❤
love ur videos emily ❤️❤️❤️
loved watching this on my lunch break!
Hello! I just found your channel because I'm looking to try vegan recipes and I'm absolutely in love with the vibe of your channel. I ended up binge watching a whole ton of your past videos, too!
I have quite a few allergies to big vegan ingredients like all nuts, oats, and coconut. However, watching you cook and seeing you have fun with the process really has me wanting to try cooking vegan meals!
Also, I'm definetly gonna have to look into that Ramen Express! It's the first time I've seen an instant ramen that I'm not allergic to!
whenever i've made like sandwich sauce/secret sauce/whatever mayo-based sauces i've always added a little water or oil!! def helps make it less thick so you can get everything all mixed together!!
Man, this is great. Love the plastic free native, and I'm definitely going to check out the ramen - like you said, for that price, I'll MAKE it taste good.
Thanks for the heads up on Panda Express- my wife used to love them so we're going to try it this weekend.
a big yes to scrambled tofu on avocado toast!!!
For that Mayo/mustard sauce I’d definitely do vinegar and oil- those are both used commonly at sub shops! I’d actually probably just make a oil and vinegar topping for your sandwiches with those spices. Or put the Mayo mixture in a jar to spread on your sandwich.
Same. When the controversy came out it helped me FINALLY to remember the difference between the 2 companies.
I always ad a bit of water if the Mayo based sauce is to thick. Unsweetend milk also works
Hi you are my comfort CZcamsr, just feel at home when we’re hangin 😌
Big time joy over here when I notice there’s a new video
I like your Morro Bay shirt at the end!! 😊
I'm so glad I clicked on this video. My local Panda Express in NYC has the beyond chicken dish, yay.
Yes! You should definitely add some water to your Mayo sauce. I always add it to my Chipotle Mayo sauce, and doesn’t taste any different to me.
Oh my god that ramen!! My local Walmart started stocking this instead of Maruchen during the pandemic and I got HOOKED on it because it’s so cheap and easy and but earlier this year they changed back to maruchen and Ive been so devastated by it
The beyond orange chicken is sooo good.
My favorite thing is when you post a video 🤠
Also Amy's has a fast food restaurant that I went to in California earlier this year and the food was literally just their freezer food that had been microwaved badly and it was BAD BAD they served it in the same cardboard tray that it comes with in the freezer box and was totally baked on and I was eating paper but it was my meal so I had to eat it 😩😩😩
This really sucks! When I was a new vegetarian 10 years ago they were a holy grail for vegans and vegetarians. I'm severely lactose intolerant so I loved that they had vegan items like Mac and cheese and frozen burritos. I haven't bought any of their products in years but I definitely won't be now or in the future.
That’s literally terrible how is that allowed to be a restaurant
your late night posting schedule >>>> every other person i watch ngl
kitchen shears help me be able to cut things in the kitchen bc they spring back open! my hands find that task difficult 😊 so don’t be afraid to use them and show the diversity
Kinda excited about the express ramen I hope my Walmart has it I’ve only ever tried it once in a cup and it was so good lol
I have grape leaves that I’m excited to eat today. They are vegan if they were made without the meat, plus they are 100% delicious if you make them at home!
I loved unexpectedly laughing out in this video. Love you
I always like to add a little bit of lemon juice to mayo if i need it to be less thicc, the mustard was a good idea but u could also give the lemon a try!
Add pickle juice or olive brine to thin out sauces :D
That cheap ramen is awesome. I just add a little better than boullion to the hot and spicy one. LOVE IT!
The nearest Panda Express is 40 minutes from me and I had some last week..it was so worth the drive!
I enjoyed the beyond chicken thing. It was crispy and I liked the taste (although a bit oily)
I tried ramen express for the first time this week too and its probably the closest thing to the typical chicken marchan ramen I’ve had!!
yes it tasted nostalgic!
You should get a lil jar or tub and make the sandwich sauce in that :) make more of a spread deal
So for the Panda Express chicken I recommend getting it freshly made. When my fiancé and I went they ran out while making his bowl and then made fresh nuggets for mine and the difference in taste was actually insane. Mine tasted super super delicious and his was literally just like you described. Good but not amazing.
yeah! agreed. i've tried it a few times and could clearly tell the times that it was more fresh and it made a big difference.
add vinegar to your mayo/mustard sauce to make it thinner! or olive oil!!!
lol the commentary with the cucumber and chilli sauce
Yes
Try the partake pancake mix
Grocery Outlet for the win again and now I’m wanting a square mini waffle maker cause my round one seems lame now.😂
Adding water isn't weird in any situation where you need more water to thin something out or whatever. Pretty much everyone that cooks does it. Also lemon juice is often used as a so it shouldn't make it parish faster.
Omg that Walmart ramen is the perfect vegan dupe for cup of noodles, which I literally grew up on so I’m so glad they exist
those mayo containers are cute but i feel like i lose so much food, like it gets stuck on the side and stuff?? idk, also your teeth are so pretty!!!
For the Mayo I’d use plant milk depending on the base of your mayo so maybe some soy milk?
I had the same thoughts about that ramen, but it's very surprising
I love that ramen brand too. The shrimp flavor is actually my favorite. The noodles are better than the ones from Top-Ramen
i made a sauce of mayonnaise, gochujang, and jalapeno relish and it slaps tbh
I got the beyond chicken from Panda Express with chowmein and the chowmein has beef in it? I was told they cook everything until he same woks so that was very sad 💀 but i got it with rice instead and veggie and it was veryyy yummy!
For the sauce add a tablespoon of vinegar
Add Italian dressing to thin the mayo sauce
emily soup season is arriving how do u feel
i’m feeling the anticipation…. i’m mentally preparing….
Yea this totally distracted me from my life problems, thank you
you should dwfinitely add something fatty ( olive oil, avocado oil ) to the sauce because it adds to it instead of taking away from it and ruining the texture :). love your videos!
Hi! For your sauces to thin- I worked in a vegan kitchen for a bit and we added oat milk to thin our sauces out! No watered down flavor, and it stays creamy. Go get lost in that sauce!
Water in sauce isn't weird but just be careful! start small tho. Also, wouldn't lemon juice make it last longer bc citric acid?
Panda orange chick’n: I had it in the last week and it was sooo good
Also asha is fucking amazing. Their website is so cool with their journey and stuff! Plus they have cute ass pusheen and hello kitty vegan noodles
Yay NATIVE. ❤
SInce the new sauce has mustard it sould emylsify with water too but is will actually go bad much quicker than with vinegar or oil, that's for sure
I sometimes add a splash of water to sauces ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ works for me. Most store bought sauces already contain water so it’s definitely a method people use.
I also do a mayo + soy sauce which is good (imo).
Not me immediately hitting subscribe after the cursed cucumber segment LOL
garlic oil in the sandwich mayo
How's the texture of the orange chicken?
All I do is eat ramen it’s so bad but so comforting 😭😭😭
Pickle juice in your sandwich sauce would be good
Honestly I really didn’t fancy the Panda Express beyond orange chicken. To me it had a dry spongy texture not very good.. and honestly kinda expensive for what it was😒 also with your mayo sandwich sauce you could a splash of soy milk or any other non dairy milk.
If the beyond orange chickn is limited why take away the eggplant tofu! Check your fortune cookies but the ones at my Panda Express are vegan friendly!
the other day i meal prepped vegan pho in jars and I was like … omg i have turned into emily ewing (/POS!!!!!)
Add pickle juice to the sandwich mayo!
good idea!!
@@emlyewng Yee! I make my vegan ranch with pickle juice too! Never looked back. Pickle juice is like vinegar on steroids. Also Clausen pickles are S-tier pickles imo. :3
The panda expresses near me had the beyond orange chicken like last year I think, and they’ve already stopped selling it, that’s so bizarre the variance across the country. Or maybe I need to go look again
i believe that was a trial but this is truly nationwide now! (although “limited”)
@@emlyewng oh hell yeah thank you for letting me know
definitely just add a lil water to make sauces drizzle-able! not weird. or if it's weird I do it all the time and don't care lol
❤
Well, you could have also lended the chilli garlic sauce with that mayo :D
ur videos r perfect sound wise specifically and like theyre nice and quiet and peaceful and lull me into a false sense of security because when its over the youtube ad blares so loud 😭😭😭 can you do a warning that ur videos about to end LMAO no but actually i want to kill youtube ads with my Bare Hands
Add vinegar 😊
You shoulda bought the wide-mouth squeezed bottles then no need for a funnel and the struggle 😂
CZcams really said anti anti-diet by putting an ad for a “clean eating weight loss plan” under this video 🤦🏼♀️😂
🙌🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️
Girl cooking up that prison ramen :)))
Gangsta shit
i know a manager at panda express and she said they don’t really change the wok for the beyond chicken.
i personally am not bothered by cross contamination! it doesn’t make a difference for the animals/planet the way i see it but i get it if it makes people uncomfortable
@@emlyewng I feel the same way as you. I’m vegan for the animals, so it’s not a big deal for me. ❤
Distraction from my life’s problems 💕
I looked up the Amy's thing and I couldn't find a reason for them to be canceled?
Could you please let me know what went on?
The interview on Eater goes into detail about the boycott if you google it!
Another fantastic what beautiful & gorgeous Emily has been eating lately and is anti-diet. Love 🥰 the video and love 💕 Emily.
Love your content! Would love you share how much CZcams pays you 🎉just to understand creator economics but all good if you can’t 🫶
Definitely not weird to add some water to the Mayo mustard sauce
Cut the tip off 😂
Apple cider vinegar and a lil bit of date syrup.....mmmmm
You didn't link to Native. I think. Unless I missed it.
thank you & thank u for catching that so quick 😭
I thought the chow mein has oyster sauce? and i’ve heard the veggies are steamed in chicken broth, would love if you confirmed that wrong!! 🤞🏻
as far as i know the chow mein is vegan but i suppose it could differ from location to location! but they stopped doing the chicken broth thing a few years back! this site has a list of vegan items veggl.com/cheat-sheets/vegan-options-panda-express/

Wait what's happening with Amys?!?
I believe they were doing some shady union busting, and had bad working environments, don't quote me tho.
can someone fill me in on what happened with Amy's??
I was so disappointed when I found out about this 😕
massive workplace safety violations that haven't improved over several years and generally treating workers poorly and union busting :// super disappointing
what. is anti-diet? everything you make looks delicious?
i think it’s just saying she’s more an intuitive eater and isn’t following a ‘diet’ which i love about her.
yes basically just intuitive eating & not following any diet or restrictions (other than plant based of course)!
