Madmans Esprit is a solo project of 叫號(Kyuho), with changing lineups of live members supporting the band’s live activity.
The band’s music is strongly rooted in different subgenres of black metal but, by actively mixing various influences from other genres from visual kei to Korean folk music, the band is constantly evolving its sound while keeping the core, which is described as “Depressive Suicidal Blackened Pop”.
After the successful headlining EU tour in 2019, the band had been mainly active in Asia during the pandemic, touring various venues in Japan, Korea and Taiwan.
In 2023 the band won the best metal/hardcore album KMA (Korean Music Award) with its latest full-length album “나는 나를 통해 우리를 보는 너를 통해 나를 본다“ and now the band is planning to have more international tour activities followed by new releases.
The new single "墜落" shows the depressive suicidal black metal influences from Madmans Esprit's early days combined with deathcore breakdown and a little bit of a progressive metal touch. While the band constantly experiments with various sub-genres of extreme metal, their heart-breaking signature sound is still very audible from this single.

Its hard not to tear up while listening to and watching this masterpiece. As someone who « survived » a s*icide attempt by hanging, i had hiden the feelings of that day deep inside of me, a lot of anger and rage ,and tried to pretend they didnt exist but while watching this they all came back and its like living it again but not in a bad way . Sorry English isnt my first language so i cant really explain well but this is a very reconforting song for me it feels like being understood

It has a lot of that nacht/conscientization soul but it also has it's own identity, like a different take on that melancholy previously presented, a bit of the old and new Madmans Esprit in one.

Impossible. It is so sacred in this whole world that someone can reflect, describe, reveal this living hell in this way. The music of Madmans Esprit, the music of Kyuho Lee, flows through my veins as if it explains me to me. All these visuals, music, lyrics, there's nothing I respect more than that. Every time a new song comes out, it's like my life goes on.

i liked this sm thst i need to write an review and analysis for the new mv and its lyrics
It seems to me that the song itself tells about a man who has survived suicide (the scene at the very beginning, where Kyuho moves with a noose around his neck). But Kyuho does not refer to the outside world of a person who was able to survive this, but to his feelings, thoughts (the forest is shown here as a metaphor for the human mind).
In the clip, the person first finds a flashlight - a symbol of hope, and travels further with it. That is, a person in a deeply difficult moral state found hope, trying to find out the real reason that drove him to suicide. Moreover, it is noteworthy that this is just a flashlight, the sun has not risen, which means that it may have become easier for a person, but it is still extremely difficult for him. By the way, i think, the scenes where Kyuho looks at the flashlight are like metaphors for how a person cherishes his only hope.
I noticed that Kyuho sees a ghost (or is it a scarecrow/mannequin) for the first time only with a flashlight. It's worth saying right away, I think this scarecrow is an allusion to society. Before gaining this little hope, it was as if he was already so desperate, mired in his loneliness, that he did not even pay attention to the society that led him to such a state, judging by the text. But already with a flashlight, he notices this society again, which scares and drives him away again. In an attempt to find answers to the questions that bother him, Kyuho comes to a tree whose fruits are loops. Obviously, this tree is a metaphor for the problem that led this person to attempt suicide, because if it wasn't it, then, I think, the fruits of the tree would be different.
By the way, it is noteworthy that this tree is suitable for one of the older Madmans Esprit songs - "A gaunt tree" from "Nacht". I hope this is an intentional reference to his earlier lyrics. Because looking at the lyrics of the song "A gaunt tree" and putting it on the clip, it really fits together very well. Kyuho, before starting to rummage through the roots of the tree, as if in search of an answer, takes off his gloves, as if he wants to directly, personally find out the truth, the root of the problem. He wants to know exactly what is causing it. But before he gets to the bottom of it, he seems to give up, looks up at the foliage of the tree and sees that he is not the only victim of the problem he had to face. And either he becomes sympathetic to other people who have experienced similar experiences, or he begins to believe that suicide is really the only way to escape. In any case, he folds his hands in prayer.
Later, we see again the suffering of a man, his mental agony. And then he returns to what he was able to experience earlier - suicide.
Turning to the analysis of the lyrics, it is worth saying right away that, judging by the lines that speak about the loneliness of the character, about his status as an outcast and about the cyclical nature of the problem that repeats from generation to generation, I think that in fact the problem that Kyuho is talking about is rejection by society or some kind of bullying. The man in the song is so desperate that it seems to him that everything is against him. He does not see why he can be hated, but society mocks him, ridiculing his "shortcomings".
In fact, this mood of the text reminded me of romanticism in literature - the character is alone against the whole society, which is so suitable for the character of the clip.
So, I think, the problem, stated in the MV is rejecting by society.
Talking about MV in general, it is like three times compared there. The MV is so professional as now, the sound is like from "Conscientization of unconsciousness", and the lyric is close to "Nacht". I really missed this type of sound in MME's songs, so this was such an amazing feeling - to hear it again.

its only 4min long but it feels like I got transported into the world they're portraying , I felt every word on a spiritual level ,the lyrics made me boil in rage , fall into sorrow , get false hopes , and hit rock bottom . Its way too relatable , they've exactly described how it's actually like to feel that way , its absolutely amazing how they're phrasing it in such a poetic yet accurate way , I didn't know it was possible to perfectly describe this state . I love Madmans Esprit. The MV was absolutely wonderful.

I seriously love everything about this artwork, the MV, the song, the music and the style. It seemed to me an endless series of falling every time and getting up and then finding yourself being pursued and besieged, and when you looked up you would find nothing but death, then you would fall again and so on without end.
I've been waiting for a masterpiece like this for a long time, thanks to everyone who worked on this. And Thank you Kyuho, you made my day, i feel a deep connection with your art 🖤

kyuho really knows his strengths and how to capitaliise on them. madmans espirit has always been a coherent yet versatile project to become a fan of, and this new song is no exception. i've been a fan for a few years now and i'm still excited to see where they go next
