On the busy streets and crowded sidewalks of Hoboken, New Jersey, a very focused man stands and stares at the activity as he uses the fingers on his right hand like an abacus. He studies a woman strolling on the opposite side of the street as she checks her watch and donates some coins to an older street urchin. She enters a flower shop to purchase some daisies. The man, Milo Stanfield, adjusts his focus to the timing of the traffic lights at the nearby intersection, then to a city bus as it stops for passengers. He then studies a man sitting on a bench near a postal drop box. A deep pothole filled with water ruts the street not far from the mail drop. Milo has his plan in mind and walks through traffic directly to the mailbox. A car stops and honks just short of striking Milo, who continues undistracted on his path. Milo reaches the mailbox and places a ballpoint pen on top of it. He doesn't just lay it there, he stands it up vertically on end. Still focused on his plan, he takes a second to study the balanced writing utensil, and seems to be temporarily delighted with his actions. On the street, a bike messenger races from a distant intersection and down the sidewalk toward Milo's location. Milo notes this and moves away from the box and the balanced pen. The woman he studied earlier exits the flower shop and walks to the intersection to wait for a crossing opportunity... she seems preoccupied and not paying an inordinate amount of attention to her environment.
The detonator to Milo's planned chain reaction goes off -- a cab hits the pothole and splashes water onto the mailbox and the pen. The pen loses balance and falls to the sidewalk. The man sitting on the bench notices the rare item that has fallen from the mail drop and walks over to pick it up. The bike messenger racing on the sidewalk clips the man reaching for the ballpoint pen and crashes into a fruit stand in front of an inner city grocery store. The street urchin quickly grabs some fruit that fell on the ground. Nearby onlookers hurry to assist the two involved in the collision, and the grocer fights with the homeless man over the fruit. The ensuing commotion on the sidewalk distracts the driver of the bus as he continues after his stop. The traffic lights change and the distracted driver fails to notice the lights - and that pedestrians have started to cross in front of him. Jillian Foster crosses at the intersection, with the right-of-way, and carrying her daisies. Seconds later, the large passenger bus strikes her broadside and sends her sliding down the pavement to her death. Milo walks from the scene unaffected by the carnage - all he lost was his pen. - Hudba

I have watched like 80 episodes of fringe in 4 days, my fav episodes are this one and the one in which the whole town is colliding into each other

@@tbbmstj5635 I can’t think of any off the top of my head. Shows like Sherlock maybe. But I’ve work shopped stories myself with a similar concept. It’s an idea pregnant with possibility.

I highly recommend watching this show. It's really good and very entertaining.

I mean.. in the end the woman died just because she crossed the road without somehow not seeing the large bus approaching in open sight. I don't see what the pencil had to do with her being to damned careless to watch out for traffic while walking across the street.
Well u see when that pen fell down the guy sitting in the chair went to go pick it up and got in the path of the guy cycling and he crashed into him causing other people to come there and create a crowd. The bus driver got curious and was watching that while driving that he didn’t see the red light. So when the walk sign appeared the lady started to walk got hit by the bus.
@@ronancefilm Well yeah, but here's the thing.. regardless of all of those things happening or not.. there could have been many other reasons why a vehicle did not stop for the red lights. In my opinion the main reason the woman got hit was because she did not look across the street while trespassing. You are supposed to look always, even if it says walk. That is why i think this scene in particular is kind of stupid. There's just too many logical flaws in it. One other such flaw is, that it's not very believable that a bus driver, who is supposed to be extra careful in the traffic, got so distracted by such a small accident on the sidewalk, that he completely forgot to stop for the red lights.

@@appletizer8415He more than likely staked out for a few days to observe what patterns remained consistent. Such as how long the woman would usually take to be in the store, the bus schedule, as well as regulars who are on the street. This would make everyone else believe they were at fault for having killed her.
This is from Fringe a sci-fi show and pretty sure he have like a power haven’t seen in a while, but he like looked around and he calculated it mostly but it’s a sci-fi show with weird creatures and other stuff in it. I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure he has like some sort of power that allowed him to do that..

OK.. So the guy sitting down notices a pen fall from no where. But not notice the guy trying to balance the pen on a mail box or look left or right to notice other people on bikes coming towards him. Before walking to the pen.
Also that the vibrations of the taxi and water splashes would make gravity control the pen to fall in that direction.
And finally that the stupidity of the woman with the flowers. Would just walk out cause it says walk. Is she deaf she can't hear the bus.
At first I enjoyed this clip and had to research it to find the show. But now I have watched it like 5 times and come to reliase a lot of it couldn't of went wrong. It wasn't, what it's making out to be and I feel I could of wrote it better. It left a lot to chance...

This episode is highly constructed. He could not really calculate that the woman will ran into the bus. Normally she would wait because she had seen the chaos. So even if she is deaf she would have waited.

The point was that it wasn't her time, the guy could do innocuous things with full knowledge that his actions would lead to their death. Timeline manipulation or statistics or whatever they call it, it's a really conceptually scary concept haha.
A person with iq this high has 0% chance of getting caught by normal people you just thought that 2 bus accidents "HAVE" to be not a coincidence even tho a regular person is unable to understand the difference between coincidence and calculated disicion

This is why I stopped watching Fringe to be honest....why would someone walk into the middle of the road without looking, just because the sign said walk? When the green man lights on here, I always look at the road I am about to cross.
Statistics show that every year a certain number of people are killed in traffic accidents. Some meet their fate at intersections. Some folks may meet thier fate because they were in such a rush to get somewhere that they failed to consider people bad driving habits. Think about this for a moment. What makes you think the person on the other side of the road/street will be inclined to obey the light once it runs red? Personally, I always wait a few seconds, look both ways and look/listen for any indicators that tell me that there is some nut job that is not easily convinced by some silly red light that they have to stop. Don't get me wrong, Life is risky. No one ever makes it out alive right? ;) I realize we all have to eventually face the grim reaper. I'm just of the opinion that we should not make Mr Deaths job any easier.
did you not watch the season 1 or 2 ? and the most absurd thing you found as a reason not to watch the show is someone who did not look at the road before crossing?
I've seen people J-walk without looking more than once before starting, almost get hit, and then get mad at the driver.
Hell, I've seen people try to cross without looking at all whilst thinking the crossing light is on green.

Fun fact: For me it's pretty easy just shouve the pencil to the bus drivers throat and there you have it an "accedent" if you want to be sneaky just wear a mask and if your done quickly jump of the bus and just have an escape car every one is only paying attention at the "accedent" you can eascape easily write a comment if this helps
