My understanding was she got screwed over at the arias only got one nomination I'm trying to find who actually took it out atm I agree she is talented ❤
It's funny, when this song first came out it sort of blended into the background of 90s pop for me. I thought it was okay, but I was too young and didn't really pay attention to lyrics at the time. Decades later I went to a Cyndi Lauper concert and Max Sharam was the supporting act. She was really amazing and she did an acoustic version of Coma (which I now realise is closer to what it started out as). She was really darkly witty, intelligent and fun and I feel bad that I ever though she was just some generic pop star at the time, but in my defense the production on this song made it sound a lot more generic than the song really is at heart. So I came for Lauper but left with a true appreciation of Max Sharam and found a whole bunch of her stuff on youtube including her stints on New Faces. Just as an aside Australia seems to have a real tradition of pop stars with Operatic vocal training/skills: Kate Miller-Heidke, Katie Noonan and Max Sharam. It should be a genre: Popera! (or maybe it is).
Its about spending months on night shift, being jilted by your boyfriend - And all of a Sudden Revamping Yourself and coming Alive - and Yeah, Screw Him....!
I beat her in a talent quest once …. Not because I was better; simply because our small town wasn’t ready for someone like Max. She was sending a message that they couldn’t understand…. “These boots were made for walking “ - I was just 12 yo but I got it…. They should have too. To me, that might, she won. I will always love and support her. She’s a musical genius!!’ Love you babe! Xxx
Extremely nostalgic. I turned 16 in '94 and, though it was one of my most turbulent years, I'd love to go back. This is definitely in my Nostalgic Tunes YT playlist👌🏻
yes.. memories. For me it can b saddest song in the world and i love every second of it.. First Love. A break up. Sleeplessness. Confusion. then.. Coma could b heard on the radio everyday. And now I'm transported.. 'I creep round your garden till daylight, I peer through your windows till dawn'
Check out the 4-minute Max series folks...what a classy act (I believe she's also a friend of Woody Allen and Harrison Ford who recognise what an amazing talent she is)
Doesn't feel like it's as old as 1994, this definitely looks and sounds like something released closer to 2000 (it practically has "1998" scribbled all over it!!)
l read a comment somewhere where it described this as 'Nostalgia that is dangerously close to becoming melancholy' and l couldn't agree more. This chick is from Benalla, Victoria and when Triple J wasn't thrashing this on the radio, l had it on CD. l luved this song so much because it was left of centre from everything in the 90's that was either Grunge or Rave. ln truth, l always thought she was Australia's version of Kate Bush ; extremely talented artist, underated, quirky, sexy and voted most likely to murder you in your sleep.
Max is a very under rated artist who never reached the popularity that she should have made, that was an excellent album

See her on hey hey its Saturday? So cool
This album however was massive. It went gold Down Under and was playing everywhere.
I was sixteen when this came out. I miss 1995😢
I wish i could go back
I was just a wee older, but same.
90's were the best time of my life.
I was 40, but yeah this was music. There was a lot of it in the 90s. Not so much today.
This would get a music award today for sure.
So pure. Ah, the days of catching this on Triple J.

What a seriously great and undervalued song!
Such an amazing song and a great album. Max deserved to be much better known.

I know right? Vol 2 Triple J Hottest 100. Song 3. This song was on regular rotation in my share house. Anthem of the youth of the '90s.
LOVE THIS TALENTED LADFY
This is a damn well constructed song, especially the tick-tock intro and motif throughout the song
Your face is well constructed
🤣🤣🤣

My year 10 maths teacher liked Max Sharam.
Such creepy ass getv restraining order lyrics lol, but damn is this musically brilliant, all the counter melodies & her voice*chefs kiss*
❤❤❤❤
Basically, it's a stalker song from a female perspective. But those green eyes... damn... I could forgive Max anything for them.
Alas some people just dot get her
Did Max ever do a Melanie song (brand new key) on Hey Hey it’s Saturday? Because I remember something like that, but I can’t find it on CZcams.
I remember that, trying to think, was it Jolene by Dolly?

MAX ,?
It's not amazing but it does beat anything by Alanis Morrisette.
Nah
Australia's Kate Bush!
Had no idea she was ‘Strayn. No wonder it only has 29K views in 3 years. If she was American it would have millions. Amazing song.
Crazy stalker woman. She wants to see her ex and his new GF having sex? I love the song though.
