- WELL WHERE DO I START! This was a very ad-hoc trip for @adventurefishinguk and I. We don't just fish with the objective of videos, we go because we love the sport and this video sums up exactly why we love this great sport called fishing!
We were not intending to make a video here at all, but this was one of those moments that we had to show you and thank god we have the camera's with us for such an eventuality!
@adventurefishinguk and I went exploring a new wild river that neither of us had fished before. Its a small river and were not 100% sure on what actually lived here! After a quick phone call I thought I'd pop up and throw some trout spinners about in the fast water aiming to hit some small trout and if I was lucky a Chub! Well safe to say, we hooked something that will never be forgotten at my end!
What a moment . what a trip and I hope you enjoy this ad-hoc adventure :D

Moments like that are one of the many reasons we go fishing , my river has a sparse population of waspy perch , but occasionally , I hook a chub of a few pounds , a jack or small zander - usually when I've gone into auto fishing mode due to no takes , then what ya think is a snag takes off , the net of course is 10 yards back along the bank .
That was so unlucky...........

Now then lads and great to see the mighty duo back in action … the fishing brothers from different mothers !!!! 🤣🤣🤣. Love it !!!! Anyways another cracking video and shame you lost that salmon ….. I’ve only ever had one and that was from the river tees ultralight lure fishing for perch using a joes fly spinner ….. it weighed just over 14lb and I bloody pooped myself when I struck into what I thought was another stripey and it took a good 15 mins to get her in the net !!! Great fun watching you both and I keep telling yer both get in touch with some tv companies and let’s see you lads on the screen … All the best to ya both 👍🏽🎣👍🏽🎣👍🏽🎣👍🏽🎣

Hahahahaha sadly don’t think the Camo would help us too much! Plenty of pink Himalayan Bolsum behind us 😆 an angry salmon is always a tough one to handle never mind your geAr!!

Great moment to hook a salmon in that small stream. Come up to the highlands of Scotland next year and I will get you onto some salmon on the fly.

The mad thing is that Salmon don't even feed in fresh water. They attack the lures/fly out of sheer hatred 😂😂
Hahaha i know it always blows my mind! The funny thing is it was first cast and I hadn’t even annoyed it yet! Must have been a very temperamental salmon 😂😂!!
@@japanesefishingadventures Do the split ring tip mate, It'll land you more fish. Works a treat for me on the Bass and Pollock.
Got to hook them in the corner of the mouth, where the best hold is! That's why top Salmon anglers allow the line to bow behind the fish before striking, after feeling the telltale 'pluck'.
Nice one. Small streams/ finding fish where many would think there are none is way more fun than a whale in swimming pool to me. I reckon those that say a single holds a (smaller) fish better than a treble are probably right. They can't turn it or push it out from the bends of the other hooks. I did try "Partridge doubles" many years ago. Don't know if they still exist. I'll probably keep small and single myself. 😀👍
Thanks for watching pal!! My big grievance with meps!! All treble hooks and you can’t change them over :( so annoying!! However where possible I’m a fan of the single hook as you will have seen!! Thanks again mate :)
@@japanesefishingadventures nothing to stop you changing the hooks on Mepps. Cut the hook eye with pliers, add small split ring and hook of choice and there you are.
Those old style trebles! Easy enough to de-barb with forceps.
