My previous video, in which I completed every normal course except Beyond: • 4D Golf -- all main co...
Huge thanks to megaminerzero on the Discord for the ghost colors reference sheet, without whom this would not have been possible.
The rules for this challenge: don't touch the mouse (to rotate the camera) or any key that rotates your view. that's it lol
Zooming in and out is allowed as it doesn't change your orientation.

Holy shit, this needs to be its own speedrunning category

    You really are a 5D being 😮

This is insane. I audibly said “what” on hole 8.
Didn’t think about it at first but it’s obviously much harder to find the hole in this world. Instead of finding an invisible point on a line (which you will eventually do moving back and forth), you have to find an invisible point on a plane, and therefore be lined up in 2 invisible axes at the same time.

      Yeah, it's really hard.
You'll notice the little image in the bottom right which corresponds to the ghost colors. (props to megaminerzero for figuring it out and making the image) For whatever reason the ghost colors in Beyond don't quite line up with your setting; the ana color is set to diagonal ana-sursum, while the kata color is set to diagonal kata-sursum.

The closest I got to that was sarcastically saying "really!?" When it said over par on whole seven, I have no idea how you managed to orient yourself there, half the time it looked like nothing was even happening as you were moving

@@AlphaFX-kv4ud Basically, I'm just mentally converting the color of the hole to a direction in 5D that I need to strafe in. It's difficult because it's really easy to just miss the hole by one tile because the colors change very little over that distance. A more consistent way I found was counting the number of tiles I needed to strafe from the wall, and then just strafing in the remaining direction; one way that I figured out way after this run was just to go in a ridge and strafe in two directions at the same time, though that only works for holes where the end platform is perfectly hypercubic.

@@blockmath_2048 interesting, that makes sense but all of it is so subtle I’m impressed at how fast you did it even though “technically” speaking it’s slow, it’s probably still faster than I could do even with rotations

@@AlphaFX-kv4ud Almost definitely not. You greatly underestimate how useful the Find Hole button is.

I love people are showcasing insane tricks like this or low strokes. Superplays will be ripe.
