The Demon could've asked Thyme to bring him into the city, where he'd slowly feed off the inhabitants. In return, he'd allow her to communicate with her father daily and help her find a way to cure the forest. Of course, the deal is inherently in the demons favor, but Thyme wouldn't know that, so she takes it, in spite of Parcely telling her it's a bad idea. Now the cast has a new villain to worry about that's more local and more identifiable than the witch country. The demon would actually just be similar to Orochimaru from part 1 of Naruto if I wrote the story.
So instead of just going back into the cave and getting more water, this chick decides to summon a demon to have a phone call with her dad so that he can come all the way to the school to get water from the cave to replicate.
And then when the demon is in a position where it’s actually willing to try and make a deal with her, she just kills it. Isn’t she supposed to be the rational, calm, and level-headed one?

How would one replicate healing waters that seem to have the property naturally within the cave? It's not like the characters know someone cast a healing spell on it a long time ago, and Thyme would recognize it from her dad. Just ask the potions teacher for help, who is already in the city and doesn't need to be contacted via demon
Simple, ideas are not discussed and everyone does what they want, did you not see how the circle changed in size and shape according to scenes? It even magically stopped being a circle of salt and turned into a circle carved into the ground in one scene

Salt was believed in some cultures to ward off evil because of it's "pureness" (whatever that means) but yeah when it comes to demon pacts I usually see them being encased in the circle, doesn't make much sense to let them roam around when you can trap them

suggestion of how to improve this part of the series: The girls are not going to summon a demon, Parsley is accompanying her friend Thyme to see her father to tell him about the miraculous water but without them knowing, they are being followed by a creature (a kind of beast, not a demon) that we later know was send by an enemy to take revange for what they did to the cat girl at the festival. he blocks their way and they fight. the creature runs to the city, threatening to hurt others. the girls pursue him to prevent innocent people from getting hurt. they end up at the entrance of the cave with the magic water. in the fight they realize that the only way to stop him is by making the cave collapse. they do it. they bury and kill the beast but also the miraculous water is destroyed. Thyme is happy to have saved many people but at the same time she is sad because what she thought was the answer was lost forever. Parlsey tells her not to worry, in fact she is proud of her, Thyme do the right thing, putting the safety of others above their own desires is the duty of a guardian... together will find another way to save the forest, they have enough time. end

Flash of light, quick cut to outside the cave, and back in at 1:47, suddenly their hoods are up, but they didn't move. You're telling me in those 4 seconds of the cut away, they decided to hood up? Flashback of Thyme and her father. At 3:33 we see Thyme and Parsley again from behind as the demon appears and the camera zooms past them to it. Hoods still up. A few seconds later at 3:38, with Thyme and Parsley still not moved from when they summoned the demon, hoods down again. What's with the hoods up and down?

Why are the creators of this show so...who thought that kind of logic is okay? Forget political beliefs, how was a HAMMER slicing off an arm? Why was this thought to be okay?

Ok the whole exposition with Thyme and her dad around 1:00 um. Idk about anybody else but isnt it jarring that it was in chibi? Like it’s kinda serious. Chibi is used when the idea is stupid and NOT interpreted as serious.

I will give HGS 1/2 a point for Thyme at least thinking to ward the demon w/a magic circle.
The alternative was w/the teenage girls in BIBLE BLACK: ORIGINS did to summon their "trainer demon" w/a murdered puppy...it didn't end well for the lead summoner.
I only now realized that they tried to make Thyme feel like Raven from Teen Titans. Wow. This show truly is a failure.

Holy crap the animation is bad. When the short girl runs into the rock she stubs her toes but proceeds to hold her knee. Then when the shot zooms out 1 second later they look like they are standing in a completely different spot and the rock is gone. Did half a person animate this??
Lmaooooo I was so confused there. Especially doesn't make sense hitting her toe would work cause she appears to have on steal toe boots?? But then she clutches her shin or knee or whatever tf was actually 'injured' 💀💀💀.
