"Loser, Baby" is perhaps the best thing you could possibly listen to if you're at a low point. It's literally "Misery loves company" put into song.
I mean not really the “best thing”. Being miserable is quite literally miserable. There is nothing good that comes from it. You shouldn’t listen to song just because you want people to think you’re miserable. If you’re miserable, just admit to it. It’s not something to show off.

I love how Beth was glaring at the screen during Angel's abuse until "Loser, Baby", if it's not exactly like that, it really gave the impression that she was deeply invested and very upset about what happens/happened to Angel
It was tough to watch and very upsetting for sure. Loser Baby was such a cathartic and much needed release for a really tough episode otherwise 😥
As for Angel's song Poision isn't autotuned. There's a video of the voice actor singing that song live, it's just how he sounds.

The look on Beth's face during Angel's abuse was hard to see. Angel's story is so fucking horrible and there's a reason he's my favourite character in this show. The bond he and Husk form in this episode is the thing he needed from the beginning to step in the right direction. The step he needs in the right direction. Whether it leads to redemption or not, it's someome who accepts him for who he is and treats him like a person rather than a toy or plaything
Or a charity case. Charlie means well but it’s probably hard for Angel to see it any other way so Husk being able to relate to him was huge. And yeah…that Angel abuse was tough to watch 😱
Leaked footage of this episode (Specifically the montage of Angel Dust getting beaten and abused during his musical number) caused a lot of controversy on social media, but now that the episode is out, it's clear it was taken way out of context.

I haven't seen a comment on it, but if you two at DND don't know, Valentino's saliva acts as a potent aphrodisiac (which when he smokes, he can breath it out as the Pink smoke). So when he licked Charlie he was trying to get her under his thumb. Luckily, it didn't work because Charlie is more powerful than him.

I feel like what makes Valentino such an insidious villian and character is just how REAL that kind of abuse can be. He's not some super mastermind or all-powerful entity, but a (former) human who knows how to truly manipulate their victims into doing what he wants. 😞

This episode is a hard watch, but it’s also so good!
Poison is masterfully done. The song and visuals are both stunning, but the whole thing conveys so much more emotionally. It’s heartbreaking and truly shows how much Angel tries to dissociate and get away from it all.
Then Loser, Baby is the perfect way to wrap up the episode. Husk finally being able to connect with Angel and get him to understand that he’s not alone in his struggles was so amazing.
Yeah for sure a good and tough episode. Going through trauma is tough enough but having to donut alone or to feel like you are alone makes it seem impossible to get through it. Husk saved the day here

He wanted to protect her from Valentino. Regardless of what would have happened, Angel wanted to protect her from his mistakes.

My favorite episode of the whole show. The songs are the best and the message it gives is amazing 👏
Angel Dust and his story is disturbingly realistic and tragic.
It is super common for people who have gone through sexual abuse to be sexually promiscuous after to prove to themselves that they do have control over their sexuality and that the trauma doesn't bother them.
Although it has to be said, Angel's sexuality most likely isn't just all cope, but he genuenily is a highly sexual entity inherently. Most likely one of the original reasons why he ended up in the situation he's in. But it has to be said, that realism makes this episode all the heavier and it's hard to blame people for wanting to skip this one on rewatch.
As for Charlie's powers. Well, this is the same universe as Helluva Boss and Charlie is technically above Stolas and the entire Goetia family. However she's also inexperienced fighter and hasn't really been training, or anything, so while the Overlords are couple steps below Charlie in the overall hierarchy, they are also mortal souls with seemingly no high end cap on how powerful they can become. As such Valentino is a quite powerful Overlord seemingly at least rivalling Alastor although I have a strong feel Alastor is actively hiding his powers.
So the way I see it, Charlie is being hampered by her own mental limitations where she doesn't want to rely on her status, or powers, but preferring diplomacy and understanding above brute strength. We'll see how things go on the long run.
Charlie is for sure holding back, just wasn’t sure if she even knew how powerful she was and it’s great she tries to diplomatic route but some fools just need a beat down 😝😈
From what I've heard, none of the V's are all that powerful individually compared to the other overlords, it's their cooperation that makes them so dangerous. Alastor, on the other hand, is freakishly strong for how relatively young he is.
Charlie is actually the 2nd or 3rd most powerful being in Hell, but she doesn't abuse (or even use) her power, so no one takes her seriously. In the pilot, Katie Kiljoy just started a fight with her, and now Valentino thought he could hurt or kill her? Charlie could eat any of them for breakfast, but she is too kind, she is a half angel, to begin with.
Easy to forget she is half angel because of Lucifer 😯

Charlie has a great deal of power (Lucifer's daughter after all), which she never uses...because it's mean to do so. Can you blame her? She wants to redeem Sinners. Why would SHE want to be violent? I am surprised she swears so much, even.
Also by the way once you are in Hell, you can choose not to be under Valentino, just don't make a deal with him...on the other hand, Adam's exocrist army will come for you, no matter what.

@@TeeTop_we see in HH that when someone sells their soul, they're doing it so that someone more powerful than them can solve a problem they can't. For Husk it was because he gambled away all of his power and his position as an Overlord was in jeopardy. So he needed Alastor to save him, which he lost his Overlord status anyway. For Charlie it was to get information on how to kill an angel and get an army. We don't know who Alastor sold his soul too but it's apparent from his ending song that he's not as strong as he should be because of the constraints of his deal.
Swearing isn’t a sin. Had a nun swear when I asked her as a kid if F U C K was a sin. And she straight up said the word and said no it wasn’t a sin. The sin is in disobeying your parents (as a child) whom don’t want you to swear and cuss was how she put it. 🤗😇

Yes. In life we rarely see someone who slaughter millions and enjoys it even if they do exist. But we do know abused or abusive people, we often see sex workers on the street, we often hear about horrible treatment of people in the sex industry, etc... It's something that feels more "real" (even though genocide literally happens all the time, it's still not something most of us have as much direct experience with). That's why this episode's violence feels more horrible than the threat of extermination.
We all are losers, not all the time but sometimes or always, so the song resonates with everybody

This first season is so good and this episode was great really adds character to angel and it's so interesting to see the bond with husk, loser is one of my favorite song of the show without a doubt. And everytime i watch an episode it makes me think of the pilot and how far it went and i can't wait to see the same with the pilot of "the amazing digital circus" which i hope you guys will react too. Great reaction as always thanks for taking the time to do great.

Valentino is a REAL threat. You don't run across Alastors or Adams much in real life, but Valentinos se*ual physical and emotional (And likely financial) abuse of Angel happens sadly all the time.
Serial killers are a real and present evil and danger in the world and probably the most terrifying personal threat you could face, but you could and more than likely will never encounter them in your entire life.
A genuinely toxic partner holding power over you meaning your life is ruined whether you stay or leave? That's evil and dangerous too and arguably moreso because it not only tricks you once into becoming personally invested but then makes you trick yourself into keeping yourself invested and taking "control" in what ways you can. It comes from a place of loving, not from them but you, turning your own feelings into a bear trap on your leg - do you rip it off and risk surely bleeding out, or just sticking with it as long as you can regardless of the pain and convince yourself that you can live that way?
There are a ton of Adams I’ve met unfortunately 😂 Not so much in the slaughtering of demons in hell kind of vein, but his general personality….yeah 😬😜

I had a feeling the comments from a couple episodes ago about not particularly hating any of the Vs because its hell and everyones kinda shitty wouldnt take long to change once this episode was seen.
Worst part is its arguable if Angel is treated better or worse than the average contracted soul because he's Valentino's star moneymaker. On one hand hes not being killed for fun for being the lowest earner when Valentino is mad. On the other hand he may as well be the guy forced to do everything and everyone and he has little to no saying power.
As you guys watch the show to understand the characters Charlie and her dad you need to understand their motivation. Charlie's whole thing is redemption. And you can't FORCE people to want to be better. So using force is antithetical to everything she cares about. She's too powerful for anyone in hell to threaten her directly, but using force is never really going to help her accomplish what she wants. Similarly her father's whole thing is to give people the ability to have free will and make choices. But because he's stuck in hell he literally ONLY sees the worst choices humanity is capable of....and that makes it really hard to feel good about the fact that he lost everything to give them that choice. And yet to use force to make people conform to better choices would, yet again, be antithetical to allowing people to choose for themselves.
So yeah, Charlie is very powerful, but what truly makes her who she is is her choice to believe that everyone deserves an opportunity to redeem themselves and to choose to try and be better. Unfortunately life isn't as simple as we'd like and making her dream work isn't going to be easy.
This was really hard to take. And interesting because Angel is a Spider-Demon and Valentino is a Moth Demon... (Spiders do eat moth's you know ) So i really hope at some point you can get out of these Soul-Deals or Val get's killed by Angel. But even in his absuse.. he protected Charlie because he understood she is so kind he won't get her even near this motherf*cker. That was not easy for him.
I feel really close to Vaggie and Husk..cause we have so much in common. We all suffers from something but that doesn't mean we are monsters.. like Bethany said: It's a disorder problem.

Loser baby is the best song imo, just cuz u cannot associate myself with poison (luckly) but if you look closely, you see angel flinch each time Husk touches him during Loser baby. It's because form Val, hes used mixed messages and physical abuse. And Husk offers him a gentle hand, which he badly needs. That is so wholesome.

Adam kills sinners for pleasure because he is praised as the first man and he thinks that everyone else is beneath him. Especially the sinners because they live in hell.
Val has power over souls and of course he uses it, like most Overloads. Yeah even Alastor, But he is forgiven for everything because people love him too. I find that a bit hypocritical. Everyone has their workspace in hell. Violence, whether physical, sexual or mental, happens to other demons every day too. Val is just hated more because Angel is a crowd favourite and he's more in focus. It would be boring or pointless if there were no evil demons in a show about hell.
They're just demons, not humans anymore, and they're in hell for a reason. Many people ignore this point.
Yes this episode is hard to watch. The Songs are awesome, the characterarchs of Angel and Husker are great but the sheer abuse Valentino puts him through is hard to stomach and it doesnt get easier no matter how many times you watch the show - for me at least. I always have a bad feeling when I know this episode comes up no matter if I watch it myself, show the series to my friends or watch reactions. As you have answered to my comment two weeks ago: There are some people that cant be redeemed and he is definitly one of them. Now that thats over I am stoked to see you both react to the rest of this series which is far more positive 😄

@@Unqualifiedmedicalperson I wouldn't say it's wrong, but I get what you mean. Nowadays it feels like we can barely have 2 male characters in any kind of series that have good chemistry with each other because people will instantly start shipping them and chances are they will end up becoming a couple instead of just being really close friends. This can often feel a bit strange because it feels very unrealistic. Then again, you don't watch a series about sinners in hell trying to redeem themselves for the realism.

Loser, Baby isn't about "hey yes you have problems but everyone does and it doesn't mean you can't be better." That's not at all what's being said. It's literally just, "Yep, you're a loser, but guess what? So am I... you aren't alone, and maybe if we support each other things won't be quite as bad because at least we'll have each other." It's an acknowledgement that both of their situations are bad and there's nothing either of them can do to change it (as far as we know right now).
As far as Charlie and her power, yeah she's powerful. Yep, she's Lucifer's daughter and she *could* have flattened Valentino with little to no effort. But she doesn't USE that power because she doesn't want to, she wants things to be better. You'll notice that so far, we only see hints of her power when she's losing her temper. I think she associates that power with force, with anger, and "being mean." So she doesn't use it. And because Angel's never seen her use her power, either he assumes she doesn't have any OR that she won't use it, that's why he's so scared for her. Valentino isn't scared of her because he knows Angel will step in. He's already made sure of that. (And also, we know from the pilot that princess or not, Sinners don't respect Charlie, probably because she never shows her power.)
Ugh there are so many nuances I love this show so much.

This episode was hard to watch and I hate seeing Angel sad.
I can say that this episode was so hard to watch with the amount of SA to our spider boi, till we get to see Husk being more than a bartender talk to being a good friend to be around 🥹 Also it seem to spark fans to witness a good HuskerDust relationship to brew from this episode.
So with that said, it seems interesting details that I like to share:
•When Charlie was going in the studio, you can notice she blushing by a cat demon being exposed. As it clearly shows her Bisexuality coming out 😅
•The demon next to Valentino is the same demon from the pilot who was Angel’s Driver
•The moment of Val fanning away the flame is showing his “Moth” abilities and smoke that is dark pink are moth’s ability to tripping their prey into killing or something like gas to controlling them
••Also when we see Drool off Vox, he seems to be under the control of Val
••So Velvet is the owner of the fluid love potions with the loan shark spiking Angel’s Drink
That seems to be all the clues or details I notice to share to you both. So next episode going to bring some laughs or maybe some tissues by the performance of a VA that put their soul in singing.
Love your reactions but you guys REALLY need to add a trigger warning disclaimer at the start of this video. Even if you don't show the abuse, it's still there. I mean Amazon put a disclaimer at the start of the episode. That had to clue you guys in. Sometimes just knowing it's there can mess with people. I thankfully want abused the way Angel has, but his monolog outside the bar hits hard as someone who masks.

I think the reason Valentino seems more menacing then Adam is because Valentino form of abuse hits closer to home then Adam's does. Adam's a classic cartoon villain "I'll kill you because X & Y" is more generic where as Valentino is a lot more personal & relatable as we've all had experienced someone like Valentino (people that abuse their power to make your life a living hell). In short Adam is "just doing his job" where as Valentino actually enjoys making Angel's life hell.
