- This video will show you how to install the Boost Auto Parts wireless charging kit into your 2014-2019 GM Trucks. This covers Silverado and Sierra vehicles that have the middle jump seat the folds up to allow a front beach seat for three passengers.
The installation is completed in less than 15 minutes, and allows for 15 watt fast charging with Qi compatible phones. The charger has LED lights to indicate the status, and a full plug and play harness is included.

Some applications have four screws under the rubber cup holder area. Please remove the rubber cup holder insert completely to ensure you do not have four screws.
40 minutes from start to finish (2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD). That was with me running out to the shop to get a pick to release the latches on the usb ports, probably more like 30 minutes if you have your tools with you. Instillation video is spot on and it looks 100% factory. Very happy with it and will save up some money to put one in my 2013 Silverado next.

I just installed this part in my 2018 Chevy Silverado and it took less than 20 min. It works great!!!!
Just did the same in my 2018 Sierra. Almost 20 minutes to the second. I timed it as I've seen others taking forever.

There are 2 screws under the cup holders. Found out the hard way just now. They will break the plastic when pulling cup holders out. That’s what keeps that section flush with the seat. Had to reinstall with new washers.
Please let people know about those screws. When reinstalling that section will not be flush unless those are secured.
Other than that. Everything works great!
Some trucks have those, some do not. There are supplemental instructions calling that out sent with this specific charger. Happy to hear everything is working great.

Great Video. I have a 2018 LT and installed this. It took me a little longer than 20 min, but I am not a seasoned shade tree mechanic. Getting the plugs unplugged was tough but if you have smaller hands no problem. I do wish for this price the wire would have been cut to length. There is about 2 to 3 extra feet of extra wire that is not needed and finding a nice spot for it was not the easiest. 2nd the clip from the charger should have been a wired few more inches longer as it sits now it is near the lid hinge. I also didn't see the note about the four screws under the cup holder. I see it now 🙂 Maybe this vide could be updated? Or at least some popup in the video about the additional screws in the cupholder.

Is there a reason mine charges my phone very slowly? Says this is a fast charger but isnt performing at all like a fast charger. Installed mine in my 2017 Sierra.

Can confirm it’s very slow, I have a 14 pro max so the phone isn’t the issue in my case, also… the charging pad is VERY picky where it will charge. If your phone slides a little off it will stop charging, I tried this with both the case on and off. Honestly a little disappointed

Wireless car play is unrelated to the wireless charging. That is a feature that was not offered in 2016 Silverados

@@boostautoparts yeah only reason I knew was because I’d changed the usb outlet to the new style when I upgraded my hmi and radio. But just wanted to throw that out there about the two other screws to try and keep fewer people from yankin on the cup holder and crackin it. Other than that, great video and great product. Very satisfied overall!!

Do you guys sell just the wireless charging pad separately without the harness that plugs into the stock center jump seat harness because I did a retro fit into an older body style truck that doesn’t use the factory harness, but I love the seem less OEM look of your wireless charger. Thanks in advance for your help, I greatly appreciate it.
Unfortunately we don't sell them separately, however you do not need to use the harness if you do not want to. Red is power, black is ground.
Does adding this disable functionality to the 12v outlet and other components?
No it does not! The 12V outlet will still be usable.
Only problem I have is that the charger and phone get real hot with very limited use, a 5 min drive. I don’t know if this will negatively affect anything.
It is normal for the phone and charger to get warm during charging. Our charger has a built in temperature sensor to ensure the phone is not damaged.
What's the difference between the two charging modes?
Mode 1 has a red resting light whenever there is not a phone on it whereas mode 2 has no resting light. Both modes illuminate when there is something on the charger.
Installed mine today .. but is there a way to have a constant charge without the keys being left in?
You can run a constant hot to the red wire.
Can i use this for a 03 jump seat? If not this one do you have one that just happens to be the right size? Obviously it won’t be installed the same I’ll take care of figuring out how to rig it into place it just want a pad the right size for a 03 jump seat.
Unfortunately we don't currently offer something compatible with a 2003 Jump Seat.
I have a 2018 Silverado to use my apple car play i plug my phone in with a cord would this work just like the cord just wireless or does it just charge the phone
Our charger simply charges the phone.
Will this work in a New body style 2019 Custom Trail Boss? The rear of the center jumpseat/console does not have the A/C or usb connectors in it.

It won't work on the newer generation, but we do have a charger coming out soon for the newer generation GM trucks with jumpseat. Email sales@boostautoparts.com to be notified when it's released.
I have a 2018 Silverado , it has Apple car play/stock radio. Does it affect it any way ?
This does not affect radio functionality at all. All of that would operate the same way it currently does if the phone isn't plugged in, this would just also simultaneously wirelessly charge your phone.

Do you have a full center console or a middle jump seat? We do have one for the full console.
Will the 11 pro max fit on the pad as well as the s20 galaxy note?
We did test fit an 11 pro max and that worked fine, but it would be best to test fit your phone into the middle area first to see if it fits.
Does it charge the phone with the phone being in a phone case?
It depends on the phone case - it will charge through most phone cases if they are not too thick.
What if I have a 2015 Sierra with bucket seats? Seems like I'm in the middle of two different systems but none work for me.

will this still let me have carplay
This does not affect any factory systems. This in itself however will NOT enable carplay if not originally equipped.
But you would still have to plug the phone into the USB to achieve car play functionality, correct? This will only provide wireless charging, correct?
@@jsb10k Correct. There are other devices out there that allow wireless car play that we don't sell, but the carplay functionality is totally separate than the wireless charging.
Anyone else have problems with the USB plug ins?
You shouldn't have any issues with the USB plug in - this taps into the 12V not the USB.

Our 2014-2019 charger is already a 15W. We will be rolling out 15W to the older models in the forthcoming months, but if you have a 2014-2019 with a jumpseat you can rest assured you will receive a 15W charger.

Will this work on a 2020 Chevy 4500?
It certainly won't work on the 2020 1500/2500/3500, however I believe the 4500's may still utilize the same jumpseat from the previous generation. Shoot a picture over your console to our team at sales@boostautoparts.com and they can check it out for you.
