Pietro Mascagni is my favourite composer. Always something news. His masterpiece is of course Cavalleria, but his Piccolo Marat and Parisina are also amazing. And than his wonderful Amico Fritz and his soooooo fine Zanetto. If it is performed with fantasy and enthousiasm: Il Maschere ! And let us not forget his immortal Iris ! I can'' t make a choise ! Un'opera poco rappresentata. Peccato. Io ho interpretato Willi sul palco del teatro "La gran Guardia" di Livorno. Maestro e direttore d'orchestra Vincenzo Bellezza , tenore De Santis. Era l'anno 1955. Il mio assolo nelle tre serate, fu il Pater Nostro.
Ratcliff is a killer. He is obsessed with a woman he can't have and duels with and kills the men that she is with. It ends in a blood bath when he kills her and her father. Not so far from Jake after all.

I saw this Opera at Wexford and it was wonderful
