- Rookie AJ Griffin had the best night of his young career against the Milwaukee Bucks, pouring in 24 points on 10-15 shooting, including 2-6 on 3-PT FGs. He also added 3 steals to become the first rookie in the NBA this season to score 20 points have 3 steals in a single game.

Before last season started for Duke I had asked in a Duke basketball fan group who everyone was the most excited to watch play out of the incoming Duke freshman class. Most said Banchero and with his talent it’s completely understandable. My answer was AJ. From watching film on him in high school, I felt like he was going to be special. As he worked his way back from injury at the start of the season, he seemed to improve fairly significantly every game. Being a Duke I watched each game. As he improved, naturally his minutes did as well. I felt like he was a steal for Atlanta at 16. I believe this kid is going to have a great career and develop into a perennial all-star.
And now he’s a rocket 🚀
