Professor X (X-Men leader) Storm (Team Leader) Cyclops (Second in Command) Jean Grey (intelligence gathering) Wolverine (Scout and Tracker) Gambit (demolitions expert) Rogue (deception expert) Shadow Cat (infiltration expert) Jubilee (distractions expert) And that's all who I can think of.
I find it oddly interesting that you have wolverine listed as scout and tracker. It works but I would place him of more infantryman/tank style. Also what's the situation? Different mission, different X-Men.

I would have picked Cyclops as leader but hes a jerk now. And Storm I feel, is a wonderful leader. Plus having the power of weather on your side is a huge game-changer.
To be fair to 1602 Jean, the 'overuse' you mentioned was levitating and flying a ship from England to Latveria. I'm not sure 616 Jean could do that without the Phoenix Force.
I know it's not technically an X Man team but The 6 that Havok leads with Vampire Storm, amphibian Beast, out of control Iceman, Vampire Gambit, Warren Worthington as The Fallen, Rogue with Colossus, and Captain Marvel's powers.
