- In this video i will introduce you to the new shop car. A super RARE anthracite MKIV Supra, only 1 of 374 sold in the USA. The downside is this car needs a lot of work.... Everywhere. It has rust issues, transmission issues, engine bay issues, cheap parts issues. So it will make for a great project / shop car. The goal is to make this a BADASS street car setup. The first step in the process is to get it driving. The R154 it came with was broken badly, no first gear whatsoever.
In this video I will cover a complete end-to-end install of the new GR700A kit. This kit includes our new aluminum bellhousing, which makes the install process so much easier, as well as quiets down the driveline and also allows easy future servicing. This is the most comprehensive install video I have ever done, I cover clutch install, bell install, driveshaft install, clutch pedal adjustment, clutch master cylinder, wiring and setup of the speedometer using the bluetooth app, transmission fluid recommendations, all the way down to my leather shift knob and boot cone install.

It will also be getting the body/rust issues fixed along with a new paint job. And no, we are not changing the factory color!

The Tilton ST-246 is a great clutch. It’s quiet and smooth. Been running it since Oct 2020, approx 750hp with no issues.
Installed it in 9hours total and got everything working. Almost identical setup except the clutch cylinder looks different but it's the Tilton as well. It felt noisy after regular W58 during some engine brake with larger gears and during high speed acceleration I felt the vibration on the shifter. But I got used to it and many of my friends thought the gearbox was broken on those conditions but it has been running strong for 4000km+. The ST246 clutch feels amazing to drive on street.

That T56 magnum is actually good for a good bit over the 700wtq. There are guys in the 03 04 Cobra community that are making 800/900/1000wtq on a magnum. I just installed my magnum on my cobra and love how it shifts compared to the stock t56.
took me 5 days to swap my supra with the gr700a kit in my drive way. Really easy to install

With what setup in terms of equipment? With just jack stands etc?

I just installed this kit and I am getting crazy clutch chatter noises and other grinding noises from the trans. I know gear rollover exists but it sounds very bad. Indexed it within .005” too but idk man.

Is it better to have a tighter air gap or wider air gap from the hrb to pp fingers? Any benefits? Between both
Basically the more air gap the more room for the clutch to “grow” as it wears…. BUT ALSO the more gap you have, the more is taken away from the sleeve’s total travel capability so it raises the risk of overextending the bearing (which will ruin the seal when it does)
I personally like to set gap at 3.5mm

Why is that funny? 2jz in stock form is 3.0L, the biggest stroker is 3.4 which gives the best response and spoolup for a street car
if your not going to keep the supra a supra don't buy it. transmission is fine but the 2jz has to stay. The only exception would be a 1jzgte but other than that. your ruining a perfect car because you want clout. absolute shame
