Kenwood Protecting Send Service Error Unfixable or Not? FIXED !!!

My Kenwood KDC-599 is sending code Protect Send and I cannot reset it. My Reset does not help. This thing is dead. No more Kenwood Radios done!
Updated Fix!!!
1. TURN POWER OFF NO POWER
2. POP OUT RADIO FACE
3. HIT RESET BUTTON. 3 OR 4 SECONDS.
4. PUSH BACK RADIO IN.
5. WHILE HOLDING BUTTONS 3 AND 6.. PRESSED IN… TURN IGNITION ON.
6. THEN PUT POWER ON AND YOU GET THE DC ERROR
7. KEEP POWER ON!!!
8. PRESS BUTTON 1 FOR 2 SECONDS IT SAYS OK
9. THEN BUTTON 2 FOR 2 SECONDS IT SAYS 0
10. TURN POWER OFF I WAITED 10 SECONDS…
11. TURN POWER BACK ON AND IT SHOULD WORK!!!

Kenwood DPX792BH. Your bio fix solved the problem.
For the larger non detachable one like mine, I hit my reset button, held 3 and 6 down. Then followed your steps. Radio works. Thank you!

I have the Kenwood kdc 148 in a lifted ezgo golf cart, and a wire to the head light arked out and caught on fire. I had to rip wires out to save it. But now after hooking the radio back up it's on protect and will not reset. I'm going to try your fix method before it gets used for target practice on the range.

You need to disconnect the power from the radio 1st you have to press and then you have to hold the number 3 and 6 then you reconnect the power to the radio all at the same time and then you should see DC err on the radio and 2nd you have to press and hold down button number 1 for about 5 second then 3rd you then press and hold down button number 2 for a few seconds and then you have to disconnect the power from the radio and then you have to reconnect the power to the radio and then you have to press the power button and your set to go no more protection send

Pengalaman saya, saya servis sendiri tegangan ke tuner yg 8 volt drop. Ganti transistor kaki 5 kodenya C2 yg menyuplai tuner. Karena system kenwood sebelum start dia scan hardware dlu kalo ada hardware yg error atau tidak bekerja normal bakal stuck protek. Beres dah.
