I have also just finished knitting the champagne cardigan from deep stash (its blocking right now) and also played yarn chicken with my main yarn which was Bendigo 8 ply luxury so I thought it might be helpful for you to know that the button placket uses a lot of yarn as it is double knitting on 3mm needles. I weighed my yarn before I started the placket and I used nearly 60 grams for the size small. Enjoy the rest of your break and looking forward to the next podcast.

You inspired me to pick up my sweater wip instead of 1 of the 4 new cast ons! I might just get it finished....only needs a couple of cms before the hem on the body...then I can wear it b4 winter ends
Beautiful job on all the projects. I agree with you on the oversized front and back on some raglan sweaters. You can either cast on fewer stitches to become allotted to the front and back, or do raglan increases on the front and back every other increase row (maybe just do the raglan increases for the sleeves every time). Also, I find that I have to look at the amount of ease for sweaters. Ten inches of positive ease for a size small is likely to be overwhelming on me at 155 cm tall and 46 kilograms in weight.
Jumping to the end first lol OMGOODNESS that black dress looks gorgeous on you ❤ The nude cami goes brilliantly with your clover tee and your poppy tee looks amazing on you, you do suit so many colours. When you were talking about running out of yarn for your cardigan I did laugh because when that happened to me I started knitting faster and tighter 😂 do you do that? Great podcast ❤

first time watching, LOVE your video! Never would have dreamed of knitting the snowflake (snowflake wonder) sweater. would look too frumpy on me but it is gorgeous on you and the color is perfect. Just a reminder - the alpaca is a hollow hair and very very warm so making a summer Tee with it might not be that practical (Summer attitude). Love the Tee. Thank you for sharing.....I'm a mono knitter and having that many projects would drive me crazy but it seems it suits you.

It is very inspiring for me. Since I started to watch you Episoden I have knitted two hats (the Oslo hat and the Musselburgh hat). I agree with you that the pattern of the Oslo hat with Mohair and without Mohair are so similar. I have also written to Camiilla Vad and got no answer. That was very annoying for Me. I have ask a german online woolshop (Maschenfein) and they helped me with my question. I agree with you that it is the job of the designers to help. I have very good experiences with Isabell Kraemer and Natasa Hornby (Moonstruck Knits). I made the decesision for Me that I will not longer buy a pattern from Camilla Vlad. Because you have mention the retreat from Myak in Italy I went there three times and I Love it. But it is not so much knitting :-). And I Love the Myak yarn. The Myak Baby yak lace is softer an warmer than Cashmere. You should visit the knew Store from Hand Make Create in Sydney. She knitted a Lot with the Myak yarn. Have a nice day! It’s so nice to have a little get away with shopping and relaxing. If you have never tried backwards knitting, it’s easy and perfect for those knitting and purling type bobbles.
Thank you so much for the suggestion. I thought about it when i was half way through and then i worried my tension might change. If i do this kind of bobble again, i will swatch with backwards knitting and then i get a tension i like, i will do that way. Especially if there are a lot of bobbles. :)
On the champagne cardigan, you could add some stripes in the body and sleeves. Like two bigger stripes of a contrast color or even a subtle camel or white. It changes the aesthetic to more casual maybe, but…would give you more yarn. I thoroughly enjoy your videos and how well you understand gauge and construction. I learn something new every time. Maybe if you found a caramel colored mohair or Alpaca and put it with the mushroom colored wool, you would get a colour you like better, that would go with both pairs of pants, and yet be not too matchy matchy?

If it was me I'd be thinking about doing the cardigan ribbings in a coordinating color and probably the button band as well. Seems a lot of concern and dithering about yarn chicken. Definitely would be a different look but at least all the parts would be the right length. I'm just about to start the Cozy Cube jacket by Hintern Stein in majorly bright pink Drops Air.

Well that was quite long Tash but well worth it. Thank you Quick question - if the pattern doesn’t say how you can mix the yarns(I.e. holding 2 strands) is there a way to determine how do that. (asking for a friend 😂😂😂) Looks like your wee jaunt away was very successful 🙋🏼🏴
Thank you so much. I am usually thinking about the fabric and gauge when I good two strands together. For example magnolia bloom uses two strands of mohair and two strands of fingering weight. You need that much for the gauge. But you can swap a worsted for the two strands of fingering to mimic the worsted weight. With the two silk mohair strands, one strands of Suri alpaca might work as it is usually heavier than silk mohair. Hope that helps. :)
How about dropping down to that bobble, unknit it, spit splice the extra yarn needed to reknit the bobble (do a test to figure it out) and then once dry, reknit the bobble. 🎉

Have you ever tried the alternating cable cast on when you’re casting on for 1x1 ribbing? That’s my go to-I even use it for socks, so it’s quite stretchy and gives the look of a tubular CO with far less trouble.
Hi Talitha. Thanks for the tip. I have used it but sometimes i find it a bit too stretchy and was worried it might stretch out too much for the neckline. Trying to find a happy medium ground. Often depends on the yarn composition as well. :)

Hi Tash. I wonder if you have a tutorial on how to do set up rows for a tubular bind off after knitting rib on the wrong side . I am knitting my hem ribbing from the wrong side to neaten it up... but unsure whether I need to turn to right side before doing the set up rows. Or can I do the whole process from the wrong side. I m overthinking this. Thanks for any tips or suggestions
Hi Anne. I actually thought this through so am glad you asked. I did the set up rows and the tubular bind off from the wrong side and didnt turn back. Just in case, i did the set up rows in reverse. That is, slipped the knits on the first row and slipped the purls on the second. Everthing else the same and it looks exactly the same. :)

Just a reminder - the alpaca is a hollow hair and very very warm so making a summer Tee with it
might not be that practical (Summer attitude). Love the Tee.

Thank you very much for you Episode! Some month ago I have started to watch your Episoden and I Love them. Your Tipps are amazing! I am more a shawl Knitter but I Love your thoughts and ideas. It is very inspiring for me. Since I started to watch you Episoden I have knitted two hats (the Oslo hat and the Musselburgh hat). I agree with you that the pattern of the Oslo hat with Mohair and without Mohair are so similar. I have also written to Camiilla Vad and got no answer. That was very annoying for Me. I have ask a german online woolshop (Maschenfein) and they helped me with my question. I agree with you that it is the job of the designers to help. I have very good experiences with Isabell Kraemer and Natasa Hornby (Moonstruck Knits). I made the decesision for Me that I will not longer buy a pattern from Camilla Vlad.
Because you have mention the retreat from Myak in Italy I went there three times and I Love it. But it is not so much knitting :-). And I Love the Myak yarn. The Myak Baby yak lace is softer an warmer than Cashmere. You should visit the knew Store from Hand Make Create in Sydney. She knitted a Lot with the Myak yarn.

It’s so nice to have a little get away with shopping and relaxing. If you have never tried backwards knitting, it’s easy and perfect for those knitting and purling type bobbles.
Thank you so much for the suggestion. I thought about it when i was half way through and then i worried my tension might change. If i do this kind of bobble again, i will swatch with backwards knitting and then i get a tension i like, i will do that way. Especially if there are a lot of bobbles. :)

On the champagne cardigan, you could add some stripes in the body and sleeves. Like two bigger stripes of a contrast color or even a subtle camel or white. It changes the aesthetic to more casual maybe, but…would give you more yarn. I thoroughly enjoy your videos and how well you understand gauge and construction. I learn something new every time. Maybe if you found a caramel colored mohair or Alpaca and put it with the mushroom colored wool, you would get a colour you like better, that would go with both pairs of pants, and yet be not too matchy matchy?

If it was me I'd be thinking about doing the cardigan ribbings in a coordinating color and probably the button band as well. Seems a lot of concern and dithering about yarn chicken. Definitely would be a different look but at least all the parts would be the right length. I'm just about to start the Cozy Cube jacket by Hintern Stein in majorly bright pink Drops Air.

That is true. I hope I don’t have to as I love the look of the double knit band and it is what drew me to the pattern. Fingers crossed. I’ll reassess at the end of the body.

Quick question - if the pattern doesn’t say how you can mix the yarns(I.e. holding 2 strands) is there a way to determine how do that. (asking for a friend 😂😂😂)

Thank you so much. I am usually thinking about the fabric and gauge when I good two strands together. For example magnolia bloom uses two strands of mohair and two strands of fingering weight. You need that much for the gauge. But you can swap a worsted for the two strands of fingering to mimic the worsted weight. With the two silk mohair strands, one strands of Suri alpaca might work as it is usually heavier than silk mohair. Hope that helps. :)
How about dropping down to that bobble, unknit it, spit splice the extra yarn needed to reknit the bobble (do a test to figure it out) and then once dry, reknit the bobble. 🎉

Have you ever tried the alternating cable cast on when you’re casting on for 1x1 ribbing? That’s my go to-I even use it for socks, so it’s quite stretchy and gives the look of a tubular CO with far less trouble.
Hi Talitha. Thanks for the tip. I have used it but sometimes i find it a bit too stretchy and was worried it might stretch out too much for the neckline. Trying to find a happy medium ground. Often depends on the yarn composition as well. :)

Hi Tash. I wonder if you have a tutorial on how to do set up rows for a tubular bind off after knitting rib on the wrong side .
I am knitting my hem ribbing from the wrong side to neaten it up... but unsure whether I need to turn to right side before doing the set up rows. Or can I do the whole process from the wrong side. I m overthinking this. Thanks for any tips or suggestions
Hi Anne. I actually thought this through so am glad you asked. I did the set up rows and the tubular bind off from the wrong side and didnt turn back. Just in case, i did the set up rows in reverse. That is, slipped the knits on the first row and slipped the purls on the second. Everthing else the same and it looks exactly the same. :)
