  • This is a darbuka lesson on how to do single-finger and multi-finger flicks. They add variety to your playing and work great for spicing-up a drum solo.
These techniques take a bit of coordination so this video is intended for players who have already mastered the basics.

    Nice Geoff.
Just a friendly reminder, that the first Iqa' can also be called Masmudi Sagheer (Baladi).

Hi! Would you please make a video (if possible) on 'Snap' tecnique?? I think i's a turkish influence; there would be some videos on it out there, but actually i never got the real technique, sense and/or when to use it! properly! Thanks a lot in advance for your gentle attention..:-)

Can you show me a video of what you mean by snap technique?

Would you be able to share what you are doing at the beginning of this video in writing? I love it and want to practice that!!

I could try. Any particular part you want me to break down? The beat is a Saiidi with flicks instead of the accent-teks. There's some split-hand noodling in there, and at the end some pitch-changing pops.
