FILM DESCRIPTION:
Young Anthony Soprano is growing up in one of the most tumultuous eras in Newark's history, becoming a man just as rival gangsters begin to rise up and challenge the all-powerful DiMeo crime family's hold over the increasingly race-torn city. Caught up in the changing times is the uncle he idolizes, Dickie Moltisanti, who struggles to manage both his professional and personal responsibilities--and whose influence over his impressionable nephew will help make the teenager into the all-powerful mob boss we'll later come to know: Tony Soprano.

Vera Farminga did everything in her power to make this movie even watchable. In my opinion, the best current female actor.
She really has been for a long time. She has a seductive quality that unfortunately distracts from how her performances are perceived; at least dramatically.
He didn't have the makings of a varsity athlete.
Horrible movie. Chase should've did a prequel series with Michael Gandolfini playing his dad and showing us how he grows up robbs Feetch card game show us who made Tony and his life as a soldier. Michael said in an interview that he would love to play his father in a younger version of Tony. Just my opinion
I would have preferred that, but perhaps Chase was burnt out from making another series and wanted to tell this story in short format?
Eh I think that’s what they were going to do next if the film generated enough interest and gave Michael a couple more years for it to be realistic, but nope….
Agree. The show made so many references to cool sounding stories from the past (Feech’s card game, Lou DiMaggio, Dickies time in prison.) and instead we got a “white people are evil” throwaway production
This movie had its moments but there were way too many boring stretches. I became a sopranos fan because I was introduced to it from clips right here on CZcams so I watched the entire series and it's phenomenal but this movie was a letdown.
